"So you're trying to stop me?" Akashi's voice had turned cold.
The two stared at each other, their gazes locked.
The atmosphere instantly plummeted to freezing.
Those around them didn't dare breathe, fearing the two would start fighting.
Ryu looked at Akashi without fear and said, "Can I stop you?"
Akashi looked at Ryu coldly. "I respect you because your strength deserves my respect, but that is absolutely not a reason for you to disobey me. Not even my parents are allowed to do that. I am the one who has the final say."
"Heh..." Ryu couldn't help but sneer upon hearing this. "Disobedience, huh... It seems Akashi has made up his mind. Do you really think you're absolute? No one is absolute. If you insist on this, I have no choice but to vote against it."
Akashi's eyes flashed with a crimson halo, his cold words echoing softly. "A plate with a crack can't be restored to its original state. But if it's still usable, maintaining the status quo is enough. Don't forget, I'm the captain of Teiko. If you don't like my style, you're free to leave the team; I won't stop you."
"Akashi..." Midorima called out to Akashi.
He finally couldn't take it anymore.
He never expected Akashi to say something like asking Ryu to leave the team.
Kise also spoke up, trying to dissuade him. "Yeah, Akashicchi, it doesn't have to come to the point of quitting the team!"
Momoi Satsuki said anxiously, "Everyone, don't be so tense! Why did it turn out like this?"
She, being a girl, was no longer concerned about those around her; she had already begun to sob. If she weren't a strong girl by nature, she probably would have already shed floods of tears.
Kuroko was completely stunned.
Akashi's words had shattered his understanding of the game.
He felt like he didn't recognize Akashi at all.
Ryu was also frozen in place.
He truly hadn't expected Akashi to say he wanted him to leave the team.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the surging anger. When he opened his eyes again, a chill had crept into his gaze.
He met Akashi's Emperor Eye head-on, his aura completely unmatched. He continued Akashi's earlier words, "A broken plate can be smashed, melted down, and remade, but that cracked plate should be you, Akashi."
Hearing this, Akashi narrowed his eyes slightly, his icy gaze locking onto Ryu's. "What did you say?"
A chillingly sharp aura erupted from both of them simultaneously.
In their clash, neither could gain the upper hand.
Ryu and Akashi were like two emperors reigning supreme, meeting on a narrow path with swords drawn, the atmosphere tense for a moment.
"Hey, hey... alright! You two, stop this! We're all on the same team, and we're good friends in normal."
Hearing this, Ryu and Akashi's auras gradually dissipated. Ryu's gaze remained unyielding as he stared at Akashi.
"Friends? I don't remember having a friend named Akashi. My only friend is Seijuro."
With that, Ryu turned and walked out of the gymnasium.
"Ryu…" Momoi Satsuki couldn't help but follow Ryu.
The others in the gymnasium just stared at each other, bewildered.
With Akashi there, they dared not say a word.
Midorima, Kise, and Kuroko were all silent. They didn't know what to say either.
On the other side.
"Ryu…" Momoi Satsuki caught up with Ryu, panting. "Ryu, don't take what Akashi just said to heart."
She was very worried, afraid that Ryu would really leave the basketball club.
Ryu stopped and turned to Momoi Satsuki with a smile. "Satsuki, don't worry about me. I didn't really care about this."
"Really?" Momoi Satsuki was still a little uneasy.
Ryu grinned. "Of course. We've been together for two years, teammates on the same team, and friends."
Momoi Satsuki lowered her head, a hint of sadness in her voice. "We used to laugh and talk so much together. You guys were so enviable back then!"
Ryu understood what she meant.
He ruffled Momoi Satsuki's hair. "We only have one more year until graduation. Focus on being a good team manager! The team's outcome is already set, so don't try to change it. It might backfire. In your final year, I hope you win your third consecutive championship and leave no regrets."
"Us?" Momoi Satsuki didn't quite understand Ryu's meaning.
Ryu smiled calmly. "That's right, it's you guys. I'm planning to leave the team and leave Teiko."
Upon hearing this, Momoi Satsuki was suddenly startled. Her expression instantly turned urgent. "Why leave the team? Why leave Teiko too?"
At this moment, she could no longer hold back her tears. Glistening tears slid down her cheeks, her choked voice seeming to plead with Ryu to change his mind.
Ryu reached out and gently wiped away her tears. "Satsuki, I've made up my mind. I'll send the withdrawal application to the basketball club. I'll leave it to you then. See you in high school a year from now!"
Momoi Satsuki was now crying so hard she couldn't speak, her hands gripping Ryu's sleeve tightly, refusing to let go.
Ryu sighed softly, and after much coaxing, finally managed to get Momoi Satsuki to release her grip.
"You're so old, why are you still crying? It's not like we'll never see each other again. You're so good at intelligence gathering, you must have found out exactly where my house is! You can come visit me anytime. As for those guys, don't tell them for now."
Having said everything, he turned and left. He waved and shouted as he walked away, "Go back and tell them that next time we meet, we'll be rivals."
Watching Ryu's departing figure, Momoi Satsuki felt a sense of disorientation, as if she had lost something, as if the world had changed.
