The light snow outside the window fell for a day and a night. Adelaide was no longer bothered by Carly wiping her face with the teapot cloth. She had already educated Carly, after all, Carly did not do it on purpose.
After getting up early and tidying herself up, Adelaide glanced at Carly, who was still fast asleep, and went to the castle hall. She needed to light the fireplace so that her mistress wouldn't feel cold when she came to the hall.
Ed arrived in the hall shortly afterward. He liked the feeling; he hadn't gone from a cold place to an even colder one, but rather from a relatively cold place to a relatively warm one. Ed watched the busy Adelaide without saying a word.
A moment later
The porridge on the long table is still the same porridge, and the people are still the same people. But the mood is different every day.
Yes, Carly happily ate her porridge, with Adelaide sitting beside her.
Ed now adheres to the principle of not speaking while eating and tries his best not to talk.
But just because you don't speak doesn't mean others won't speak either!
"Carly? Would you like to build a snowman?"
Adelaide glanced at Carly, who was happily drinking her porridge.
"I would be delighted, Sister Adelaide."
Having stayed inside the castle every day, she did start to want to go out and see the world.
Ed was initially reluctant to go, but under the strong insistence of the two girls, he had no choice but to go.
As soon as the castle gates opened, a gust of cold wind blew in, and all three of them shivered.
Looking outside, the entire territory was covered in white. All work in the territory had stopped, and everyone was staying indoors waiting for winter to pass.
Ed rubbed his hands together and began shoveling snow in the thicker areas.
"We'll each build one, and see who builds the best. Whoever does it best will get a special food item. Nobody is allowed to peek at anyone else's." Ed felt that just building wasn't fun enough; there should be some competition and rewards.
"Lord Ed, what kind of special food is it?" Carly asked curiously. Adelaide looked over as well.
"It's too early to say; only the final victor will have it," Ed said, keeping everyone in suspense.
So the three of them started working on the main road. Each of them chose a direction, and the snowmen they built were back to back. So each of them could only see the general outline of the back of the other's snowman, but could not see the specific front of the snowman.
Before long, the three of them finished their snowman. They first went to the snowman in Adelaide:
This is a very beautiful snowman shaped like a princess, with many perfect details, making it a rather exquisite piece.
The snowman from Adelaide received unanimous praise from Ed and Carly, and is currently ranked first.
The three then went to Ed's snowman.
"Hahaha"
The two girls laughed as soon as they arrived and saw Ed's snowman.
Ed made a pig that looked adorable and was quite funny. It was a nice little comedy.
However, overall it is still a bit lacking, so it is temporarily ranked second.
Finally, it was Carly's turn. All Carly had done was pile up a heap of snow, and that was it.
Adelaide and Ed looked at Carly with some confusion.
"Sister Adelaide, Lord Ed, guess what this is?" Carly ignored their gazes, seemingly quite pleased with her snowman.
"A mountain?" Adelaide looked at Carly.
Carly shook her head.
"A pile of dirt?" Ed looked at Carly as well.
Carly shook her head again.
"No, no, it's not that complicated. Take another guess. It's very simple."
Ed looked at Adelaide, then at Carly:
"Is it a pile of shit?"
