Chapter 6 - The Second Death

Darkness.

Kyle saw nothing…

but he felt everything

The stench of decay, the heat, the pressure…

and the sound.

Grinding.

The Titan's teeth closed around him.

The pain wasn't instantaneous this time…

It was slow. Extended. Conscious.

"Gaaah…!"

His scream choked inside the monster's mouth.

He tried to move…

But his body was trapped.

The system… did not allow him to survive.

[Mission Failed]

[Result: Death]

But—

Before his consciousness faded…

he heard both voices.

The first, tense:

"I told you not to let him get away!"

The second… calm. Enjoying:

"But he is interesting… I want to see how many times he will break."

Then…

silence.

Air.

Cold.

Pure.

Kyle's eyes shot open.

His body jolted as if waking from a nightmare…

But this time, there was no doubt.

"Again…" he whispered.

He was seated…

Same wooden bench.

Same square.

Same sun.

Everything… was back.

But he… was not the same.

He placed a hand on his chest.

His heart raced… but there was something new.

Fear had diminished.

In its place… awareness.

He looked at his hand.

It trembled slightly… but not from terror.

From anger.

"…They killed me," he muttered.

The scene of the second death remained vivid in his mind.

Every detail.

The pain.

The helplessness.

But most importantly…

the system had stopped him.

"This time…" he gritted his teeth,

"I won't let anything control me."

"Hey! Kyle! You fell asleep again?"

The voice. Hans.

Same moment.

Kyle didn't turn immediately.

He just looked forward, his eyes unnaturally calm.

"No," he said softly.

"This time… I was calculating."

Hans laughed.

"Calculating? What, your dreams?"

Kyle stood slowly.

"Time."

He looked toward the tower.

11:45.

The same beginning.

But… Kyle had changed.

This time, he didn't run immediately.

He walked with steady steps.

Observing.

Analyzing.

Every detail. Every movement.

"…The loop isn't just repetition," he muttered,

"It's an opportunity to learn."

He touched the copper piece.

The scratch… still there.

"Even the tools… carry over."

Here… he smiled for the first time.

"Good."

He reached the crossroads…

saw Eren and Mikasa from afar.

But this time…

he didn't approach them.

He stopped.

"In the first attempt… I ran to them."

"In the second… I tried to save them."

He slowly lifted his eyes toward the wall.

"And in both… I died."

He took a deep breath.

"So… the problem isn't them."

He paused.

"The problem is me."

Suddenly—

silence.

Same moment.

The wind stopped.

Birds froze mid-flight.

Kyle didn't move.

He just watched.

Boom!

An explosion rocked the square.

The colossal Titan appeared.

People screamed.

Chaos returned.

But Kyle…

stood.

No fear.

No confusion.

Just observing.

Analyzing.

["Observer" Protocol Activated: Attempt #3]

[Mission: Survive 60 minutes]

"I understand…" he said calmly.

But this time…

there was an addition.

[Potential Bonus: Hidden Path Unlocked]

Kyle was silent.

Then… he smiled.

A faint, yet dangerous smile.

"Ah…"

He raised his eyes toward the Titans.

"Now we play for real."

He ran.

But not toward Eren.

Nor toward escape.

Toward danger.

He reached a point near the wall.

The Titans descended one by one.

Soldiers panicked.

Total chaos.

"Here…" he muttered,

"This is where it all gets decided."

He activated motion prediction.

But this time…

he didn't wait for the lines to appear.

He moved… before them.

His body seemed to adapt.

"I'm learning fast…"

Suddenly—

he sensed it.

The same feeling.

Observation.

But this time…

Kyle didn't ignore it.

"Come out," he said softly.

Silence.

Then—

The first voice:

"You've changed…"

Kyle replied immediately:

"And you… are afraid of me now."

The voice went silent.

But the second voice…

laughed.

"Nice…"

The air cracked again.

The shadow appeared.

"Death has taught you."

Kyle stared at it without fear.

"Next time… I'll teach."

Suddenly—

a scream.

Eren.

Kyle turned.

Same moment.

Same Titan.

Same scenario.

But this time…

Kyle didn't run immediately.

He stopped.

Watched.

Calculated.

Three possibilities appeared before him:

Save Eren → die later

Leave him → survive 60 minutes

Intervene differently → ???

Kyle clenched his fist.

"The first time… I did right and died."

"The second… I tried to be a hero and died."

He raised his eyes.

"Now…"

He began walking slowly toward Eren.

"I'll be smart."

But…

Before he could reach him—

the ground shook stronger than before.

A new scene.

Something had changed.

Even the Titans froze for a moment.

Even the two voices… fell silent.

Kyle felt a chill.

"This… wasn't supposed to happen…"

Then—

from the smoke…

A Titan appeared.

But…

not like the others.

Its eyes… were watching.

With focus.

With awareness.

Directly… at Kyle.

[Critical Error: Unexpected Entity Detected]

Kyle froze.

"…What… is this?"

And the Titan…

smiled.

Consciously.
