Kyle's dagger trembled in his hand.
The nape…
So close.
One strike.
One decision.
Everything could end…
or begin.
[31:58…]
The Titan's eyes were locked onto his.
No madness.
No rage.
Only… awareness.
— "You've reached further than I expected," it said calmly, as if observing the result of an experiment.
Kyle tightened his grip.
— "And you're talking more than you should."
The Titan gave a faint smile.
— "Because you are not like the others."
The world cracked again.
Invisible fractures spread through the air, like reality itself was struggling to hold together.
Time grew heavy.
Everything slowed… but not under Kyle's control.
[Hidden Rule Activated]
[Direct elimination is not recommended]
Kyle exhaled slowly.
— "Not recommended… but not forbidden."
His eyes sharpened.
— "That means the choice is still mine."
The first voice shouted urgently:
— "Don't do it! If you break this point, the loop might collapse!"
The second voice whispered, amused:
— "Or evolve."
Kyle closed his eyes for a brief moment.
Memories surged like a storm:
His first death…
His second death…
The pain…
The helplessness…
The feeling of being nothing more than a piece inside a system.
He opened his eyes again.
Different now.
Colder.
Calmer.
Dangerous.
— "I'm done playing safe."
The dagger moved.
Fast.
Precise.
But—
Not toward the nape.
It plunged into the Titan's shoulder instead.
The Titan's eyes widened slightly.
For the first time—
It hadn't predicted that.
Kyle landed on the ground, rolling to absorb the impact.
His breathing was heavy, chest rising and falling sharply.
— "I'm not killing you…" he said as he slowly stood up.
— "Not yet."
The Titan looked at its shoulder where the blade had pierced its flesh.
No blood.
No regeneration.
Just… observation.
— "You chose a third path."
Kyle allowed himself a faint smile despite the pain.
— "You said killing you would block the truth."
He raised his dagger again.
— "So I'll keep you alive… until I force that truth out of you."
Silence.
Then—
The Titan laughed.
Not loudly…
But deeply.
— "You are far more dangerous than I anticipated…"
Suddenly—
The cracks in reality widened.
Faster.
More violently.
As if the world itself was rejecting his decision.
[System Instability Rising]
[Unrecognized Choice Detected]
The first voice panicked:
— "This wasn't supposed to happen!"
The second voice…
laughed.
— "He's rewriting the rules."
Kyle felt it.
Something inside him… shifting.
Not a skill.
Not physical strength.
Something deeper.
Understanding.
— "This loop…" Kyle whispered.
— "It isn't fixed."
He looked directly at the Titan.
— "It reacts."
The Titan nodded slowly.
— "Now you're beginning to see."
Time snapped back violently.
The world resumed.
Screams returned.
Fire spread.
Titans moved again.
[29:40…]
But something had changed.
The Titan in front of him…
didn't attack.
Instead—
It stepped back.
Kyle froze.
— "You're… letting me go?"
The Titan turned slightly.
— "No."
A pause.
— "I'm allowing you to continue."
Before Kyle could process that—
A massive shadow fell over them.
The Colossal Titan had moved again.
Its enormous foot lifted…
directly above them.
Kyle's instincts screamed.
— "Move!"
But the conscious Titan…
did not move.
It looked up…
then back at Kyle.
— "Survive this…"
Its voice lowered.
— "And I will give you your first truth."
Kyle's eyes widened.
— "Wait—!"
Too late.
BOOOOM!!!
The foot crashed down with overwhelming force.
Dust exploded outward.
The ground shattered.
Sound vanished into suffocating silence.
Kyle's body was hurled across the street.
He slammed into a broken wall, the air forced out of his lungs.
Blood filled his mouth.
[Critical Condition Warning]
His vision blurred.
His body refused to respond.
But he was still alive.
Barely.
Through the dust…
he saw it.
The conscious Titan…
standing.
Unharmed.
Watching him.
Then—
it raised one finger.
Pointing directly at him.
— "Remember this moment…"
Darkness crept into Kyle's vision.
— "Because next time…"
Everything began to fade.
— "You won't survive it the same way."
[System Signal Lost…]
But just before his consciousness disappeared completely…
Kyle saw something.
A flash.
A vision…
Not from this day.
Not from any previous loop.
A city…
Not Shiganshina.
Different walls.
A sky… completely gray.
And a figure…
Standing on top of the wall.
Watching him.
Then—
everything vanished.
