Chapter 3 - in incredibles

Nagi walked carefree through the streets of the world of The Incredibles, hands in his pockets and hood pulled over his head. There was no fear in his heart.

It had been one week since his arrival, and to put it simply, it had been an incredible first week.

He had already collected the powers of many Supers since he got there.

The Supers in this world were surprisingly easy to find—like eye candy. You just had to look in the right direction.

Like a bank robber on a mission, his Fasttrack-enhanced speed combined with Toji's instincts made it effortless to reach them.

He had been using several Power Cards to enhance Yuu Otosaka's ability, and his body had evolved as a result. It had taken at least three cards, but it was worth it.

It also told him that Power Cards could be used on the character cards too.

Now, with an upgraded ability, he could do more than just steal powers he could copy them.

And more importantly, he no longer suffered from the intense mental strain that came with overusing the power.

At that moment, Nagi had a clear set of goals for this world.

Copy as many superpowers as possible. Prevent the Superhero Relocation Program from ever fully taking hold. Get himself a proper super suit.

Beyond that, the world could manage just fine without his interference.

After all, if this world was already on the right track, there was no need for unnecessary interference needed by him .

The superheroes took care of the world's villains, and for the most part, they were genuinely good people trying to keep the damage to a minimum.

"Oh," Nagi's eyes widened as he felt another power integrate into his soul.

"Looks like female me got another power," he thought with a smile. I can't let her outpower me, can I?

He rubbed his hands in his pockets, a sly grin on his face, his black eyes locking onto a hero in a blue suit standing in front of him—like a predator sizing up its prey.

"Downburst!"

"Downburst!"

The superhero Downburst could have just teleported, but he didn't. He enjoyed letting people come to him for pictures, and the crowd shouting his name only encouraged him. Standing in the middle of the street, he posed for fans, and a large crowd quickly formed around him.

Nagi watched for a moment… then calmly turned and slipped into a nearby alley.

No one followed.

Once he was sure he was alone, he activated his power.

His body slumped slightly as his consciousness shifted.

Moments later, he opened his eyes—inside the hero's body.

Yuu Otosaka's ability had taken hold.

Nagi had slipped into Downburst's body.

The first time he had ever possessed someone, he could only last a few seconds. Now, he could maintain control for much longer. Still, that wasn't his goal.

His real objective… was copying the power.

Keeping the possession subtle, Nagi moved naturally, mimicking the hero's behaviour while analysing the ability.

Within minutes, he succeeded.

Atomic Manipulation. Portal Teleportation.

His eyes sharpened slightly.

Jackpot.

Once it was done, he released control and returned to his own body in the alley.

Nagi straightened up, exhaling slowly.

Another power… secured.

Out on the street, Downburst suddenly froze, staring into empty space, unsure of what had just happened. After a brief moment of confusion, he shook it off and went back to taking pictures with his fans none the wiser.

As Nagi walked away, already thinking about his next target—Mr. Incredible he reminded himself there was somewhere he needed to visit first.

"So this should go here…" Edna muttered to herself, adjusting another costume she had just finished creating.

Edna Mode stepped back, examining her work with a critical eye.

Something felt… off.

She narrowed her eyes, studying the design from a distance. There was a mistake somewhere—she could feel it—but before she could pinpoint exactly what it was—

Her alarms suddenly blared.

The sharp sound echoed through the room.

Edna calmly walked over to her monitor, tapping a few buttons until a full view of the intruder appeared on the screen.

"Who is the foolish intruder?" she muttered.

On the display, she saw a boy—around five foot ten, with black hair and dark eyes—sitting on her couch.

Completely at ease.

He sat properly, almost respectfully, as if he belonged there, even adjusting his sleeve slightly while looking straight into the camera.

Edna narrowed her eyes.

Whoever he was…

He wasn't normal.

"Who are you?" Edna asked through the speaker in her house.

Nagi simply looked at the camera, as if he already knew where it was, and then spoke respectfully:

"Miss Edna, I've gotten information from my sources that you make custom superhero suits. Could you make one for me, pretty please? I'll pay as well."

There was a long pause on the other end as Edna processed his words, taken aback.

"Sources, you say? And you want me to make a suit… for you?"

Nagi nodded politely, keeping his posture straight, even though he was still sitting on her couch.

"Yes, Miss Edna. I've heard no one does it better than you and that you even made one for Mr. Incredible. So… can you make one for me, please?"

Edna leaned back, arms crossed, eyes narrowing as she studied him through the camera.

Then, after a moment of silence, she pressed a button. A door opened in front of Nagi.

"Very well. Come in, child, and tell me your powers."

"But let me tell you," her voice dropped with caution and curiosity, "if you waste my time or sully my designs, I will personally ensure your superhero career ends before it begins."

Nagi bowed his head slightly, a small smile on his lips.

"Understood, Miss Edna. You have my word."

He stepped forward, entering the room.
