Chapter 1 - Waking Up as a Punching Bag in a Thatched Shack

"Bang——"

Inside the rundown thatched hut, a series of clattering crashes rang out.

"You damn slut! This old lady kindly took you in, fed you, clothed you, and you still refuse to let me fuck you? Now you even dare to cheat behind my back, you shameless whore! You cheap bitch! Watch me beat you to death..."

Moonlight spilled into the drafty, dim room.

A sharp-faced, monkey-like woman dressed in filthy clothes grabbed a wobbly three-legged wooden stool and smashed it without hesitation toward the only broken wooden bed in the room, where a man lay.

Her face was flushed red—she was clearly drunk. She staggered as she walked, limping badly, and her vision was blurry, so the stool missed the unconscious man entirely.

But the furious shouting and the loud crash against the bed still woke him up.

"Ugh..."

Su Yu groggily clutched his throbbing forehead and opened his eyes, letting out a soft groan.

"Slut, had enough fun yesterday? Finally awake?"

Before he could figure out what was happening, a heavy, stinking weight suddenly pressed down on him.

The nausea hit instantly. Su Yu kicked out with both hands and feet, flinging the thing off him as he exploded in anger: "What the fuck is this massive pile of shit?!"

"Urgh——"

The stench was overwhelming. He propped himself up and dry-heaved.

The woman, caught off guard, fell heavily to the ground. The pain sobered her up a little, but it only fueled her rage. "Good! You little whore still won't let me touch you. Today… even if you don't want to die, this old lady is going to fuck you to death!"

With a dark expression, she crawled up, glanced around, picked up a wooden stick nearby, and swung it mercilessly at Su Yu again. "You dare resist? Slut… watch me break your legs…"

The stick came flying at his face. Su Yu dodged to the side without thinking, only to feel a sharp pain shoot through his waist and back the moment he moved—like someone had beaten him with a sack.

"Fuck, my poor waist!" He hissed in pain, clutching his lower back. His voice came out soft and hoarse: "I think I twisted it… ouch… it hurts so much…"

"You still dare to dodge?"

Furious that he had evaded her, the woman roared. But the next second, hearing the delicate, soft moan from him, her eyes filled with lewd lust. Desire flooded her body—she only wanted to pin him down and extinguish the fire inside her.

She licked her cracked lips, tossed the stick aside, and pounced on Su Yu again.

...

As the sky gradually brightened, thumping sounds came from the hut—completely out of tune with the peaceful morning.

It sounded like fists swinging, wooden stools and chairs smashing against flesh and the floor, mixed with heavy breathing and low, miserable cries.

"Is Yu Jia beating someone again?"

The villagers nearby were waking up one after another. Hearing the familiar racket, they gossiped casually.

Someone chimed in: "Of course. She drank all day yesterday and lost money. She's definitely taking it out on him when she gets home."

A man sighed in pity: "Sigh… that boy is really pitiful. Such a pretty person, always covered in bruises."

"Oh come on, it's normal for a woman to vent her frustrations on her husband when things aren't going well," a woman said indifferently. She comfortably washed her face with the water her husband had brought in.

The man moved his lips as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he stayed silent.

Next door, another man frowned and whispered to his own wife-lord: "Shouldn't you go and stop her? How can a man keep getting beaten like this? If he dies, fine, but if he gets hurt and can't have children, what then?"

While stoking the fire, the man sighed, "A man's greatest purpose in life is to give birth. Otherwise, what's the point of living?"

His wife-lord thought about it and nodded in full agreement. "True. If a man can't give birth, what use is he?"

The man continued, "And if he gets crippled, he won't even be able to work. He'd just be wasting food."

"I'll go take a look."

The woman headed toward the thatched hut.

Inside, Su Yu was holding his waist with one hand and gripping a wooden stick with the other. He glared fiercely at the blood-covered "thing" lying motionless on the ground and roared:

"You big dumbass! You wanted to bully your grandpa? Watch me beat you to death!"

The woman couldn't believe she had been beaten so badly she couldn't fight back. Right before she passed out, she glared viciously at Su Yu. "You slut! How dare you hit m—"

"Bang—" Su Yu bared his teeth and gave her another solid whack with the stick.

"..."

The world finally fell silent!

His body drained of all strength, and his head spinning, Su Yu used the morning light coming through the window to survey his surroundings. Clutching his waist, he slowly walked over to a broken chair and sat down.

The memories from yesterday slowly came back.

He remembered...

Well...

He had transmigrated.

Su Yu numbly dug through his mind for the memories.

In the modern world, he was an orphan raised by the director of an orphanage.

As for his biological parents… after finally getting news about them, he learned they had both remarried, stood at the peak of wealth, lived lavishly, and had a son and daughter. They were extremely happy.

They had long forgotten the child they lost during that big fight after discovering each other's affairs.

But Su Yu figured it didn't matter anyway.

Later, after he graduated from university, the orphanage director was diagnosed with cancer, and there was no one to take care of the younger kids she had picked up.

He had to juggle multiple jobs at once to pay for expensive medical bills and look after the children. With no life experience, he worked himself to exhaustion and...

And yesterday, he died from overwork!!!

Yeah… that's right.

He simply kicked the bucket just like that.

But it wasn't a big deal.

After his death, the money he had saved—his only good brother knew the password and would definitely help take care of the director and the kids.

He didn't have to worry about that.

What he did have to worry about was the body his soul had transmigrated into.

...Sigh!

Speaking of transmigration, when he thought about this body's ending in the book, Su Yu pressed his lips tightly together, nearly having a breakdown.

Heh~~

Don't ask what the book's ending for this body was.

Back in the modern world, during one of the rare moments he had time to rest, his good brother dug up a random novel from who-knows-where. The villain in it had the exact same name—Su Yu.

In the book, the original Su Yu was the son of a rich family. Even though his father wasn't his biological dad, he was still doted on and spoiled rotten. He got whatever he wanted, and whenever he made mistakes, his older sister and younger brother would take the blame for him.

He was loved by his elders, pampered by his siblings, admired by friends, and had tons of suitors. Everywhere he went, he was the center of attention.

He truly was the darling of the world—something truly enviable!

Just thinking about it made Su Yu sneer coldly.

Bullshit "darling of the world."

The non-biological father's spoiling turned him into an arrogant, naive idiot who only knew how to eat, drink, and play, completely useless at anything else.

His sister and brother "taking the blame" only made the original owner bolder and more unrepentant, which in turn made his mother hate him more and more.

This was called "pampering"?

This was clearly "smile on the surface, calling him an idiot behind his back"!

What was there to envy?

Envy how he was played like a monkey in their palms? Or envy how he was kidnapped by human traffickers and no one cared?

Yeah… he was trafficked to this remote, god-forsaken mountain village.

In the end, the original owner tried everything to escape, collapsed from exhaustion on the roadside, and was picked up by a lame woman.

From one wolf's den straight into a tiger's den. And the villagers here were all top-tier scumbags.
