Chapter 16 - Last time in celestia

Celestia had no limits.

And that was the problem.

Because neither did they.

"…We're trying everything today."

Aira froze.

"…No."

"…Yes," Assault said.

"…No."

"…Yes."

Heavy nodded.

"…Agreed."

Akane tilted his head.

"…Define everything."

Assault grinned.

"…Everything."

Aira looked at the sky regretting his decision.

"…I should've stayed in bed."

They didn't walk.

They ran.

From place to place.

No breaks.

No thinking.

Just—

Trying things.

"…We can do that."

"…No you can't," Aira said.

Too late.

Assault jumped in.

Tried flipping.

Failed hard.

"…I regret this."

Heavy tried.

Perfect.

Too perfect.

People clapped.

"…This is inefficient," heavy said.

Music blasting.

Lights flashing.

"…We'll try this," Assault said.

"…No." Aira answered

They all tried.

But none of them had rhythm.

Akane moved like he was dodging bullets.

Heavy moved like a machine malfunctioning.

Assault just… jumped.

Aira covered her face.

"…I don't know them."

"…Spicy challenge." assault said

"…No." aira said

They did it anyway.

One bite.

Silence.

Then—

"…THIS IS PAIN—" akane screamed

Assault screamed.

"…WHY IS IT ATTACKING MY MOUTH—"

Heavy didn't react.

"…Mild."

Aira stared.

"…You're not human."

Small animals.

Soft.

Calm.

Assault picked one up.

"…It's weak."

"…Put it down." Aira replied.

"…It trusts me."

"…IT DOESN'T—"

Akane stared at one.

"…Why is it following me."

"…Because it likes you." Aira said

"…Why."

"…I don't know."

"…I don't trust it."

They arrived.

Massive rides.

Huge structures.

Screams.

Excitement.

Chaos.

Assault's eyes lit up.

"…This is it!!"

Aira already turning away.

"…No."

Too late.

Roller Coaster

Assault said

"…We're doing it."

"…We are not—" Aira replied.

They were already strapped in.

Akane gripping the bar.

"…This is unsafe."

"…Relax," Assault said.

The ride started.

Slow.

Climbing.

Silence.

Then—

DROP.

"…THIS IS A BAD IDEA—"

"…WHY IS IT FALLING—"

"…THIS IS CONTROLLED—"

"…I DO NOT TRUST IT—"

Aira screaming.

Actual screaming.

Heavy?

Silent.

Completely still.

"…This is inefficient."

"…YOU'RE NOT EVEN REACTING—"

"…I am analyzing."

"…STOP ANALYZING AND PANIC—"

Spin Ride

"…Next."

"…NO."

Too late again.

They spun.

Fast.

Too fast.

Everything blurred.

"…I CAN'T SEE—" assault screamed

"…I HAVE LOST DIRECTION—" akane screamed

"…I REGRET EVERYTHING—" Aira screamed

Aira?

Already gone.

Mentally.

Haunted House

Assault said

"…This is easy."

"…It's fake."

They walked in.

Dark.

Quiet.

Then—

jump scare

Assault screamed.

"…IT'S REAL—"

Akane punched the air.

"…TARGET NEUTRALIZED—"

"…IT'S A PROP—"

Heavy grabbed something.

"…This is not alive."

"…STOP TOUCHING IT—"

Aira outside.

"…I'm not going in there."

"…You already paid," Assault said.

"…I regret everything."

Water Ride

"…Last one." heavy said

"…No more." Aira replied

"…Last one."

They went.

Splash.

Soaked.

Completely.

Aira stood there.

Dripping.

"…I hate all of you."

"…We had fun," Assault said.

"…YOU ALMOST DROWNED—"

"…But I didn't."

"…THAT'S NOT THE POINT—"

They sat.

Exhausted.

Soaked.

Holding random items.

Still eating snacks.

"…This place is good," Assault said.

"…It is acceptable," Heavy added.

"…I don't understand it," Akane said.

"…You don't have to," Aira replied.

"…Good."

A sound.

All their devices lit up.

Silence.

Akane looked down.

Message:

"All personnel: Return to Nexarion by tomorrow. Deployment resumes."

Silence.

No one spoke.

Assault leaned back.

"…Already?"

Heavy looked at the screen.

"…Understood."

Aira closed her eyes.

"…Of course…"

Akane stared at it longer.

Then—

"…Tomorrow."

They didn't move.

Didn't argue.

Didn't complain.

Just sat there.

Tired.

Quiet.

Together.

"…One more night," Assault said.

"…Yeah," Aira replied softly.

"…One more," Heavy added.

Akane looked at the lights.

At the city.

At everything they tried—

Everything they didn't understand—

But still wanted.

"…One more."

And for the first time—

They didn't rush.

They just stayed.
