Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The protagonist of the reincarnation story has been selected?

Kael heard the system's familiar voice. He knew exactly what was happening. There was an eighty percent chance the system would broadcast his reincarnation missions to the whole world.

It didn't matter. Right now, he was the strongest person in the world.

'But I remember recurring characters appearing during those missions.'

Kael remembered his tasks. He often met the same people in different lives. Usually, this would cause problems in a single timeline.

Kael used to think these missions were just simulations. But the system said these were real past experiences. Everyone's memories would eventually return to them.

If that was true, some things wouldn't match the current world. Unless...

'Could it be like what I saw online in my previous life?'

'Is Teyvat stuck in a loop? Does it keep repeating the same history?'

'Maybe my missions were set at different points in time, even in different cycles of Teyvat.'

'Forget it...'

None of this mattered to Kael. He just wanted to enjoy a peaceful retirement in Teyvat. He was already stronger than the laws of fate and rebirth. The cycles of Teyvat couldn't hurt him anymore.

Kael looked at Furina. She was stunned. Her eyes were wide as she stared at the light screen. She wasn't just shocked; she was excited. Her small body was trembling slightly.

It made sense. Furina loved drama and grand performances more than anything.

"Hey, Lady Furina."

*Gasp!* Furina jumped. She looked at Kael nervously.

"Watching this alone is boring," Kael said. He pointed to his room. "Why not come over? We can watch together. I have snacks, drinks, and cake."

"This..." Furina fidgeted. She looked away.

She didn't know this new neighbor at all. Fontaine's laws were strict, and she was a former Archon. But with the system's rules, she wasn't worried about him. She was just shy. Her pride made it hard to say yes immediately.

"There's nothing wrong with it," Kael added. "A new life should start with getting to know your neighbors, right?"

Kael gave her a bright, handsome smile. Furina thought for a moment.

'What he says actually makes sense.'

She had been alone for five hundred years. She had forgotten how to make friends. But she had to start her new life eventually. Maybe watching this broadcast together was the perfect start.

Furina stopped refusing. She smiled. "Wait a moment. I'll come over after I change. Go prepare the desserts and tea!"

She ran back into her house, full of energy.

'Wonderful! I'll get to see a thrilling drama. A story of reincarnation... what a magnificent show!'

Kael: "..."

...

Everything was ready.

Across the continent, everyone waited. They stared at the screens. Some were scared of the exposure, but others hoped to see their past lives.

Finally, the light screen flickered.

"An image is appearing!"

"It's starting! Who is the lucky person?"

"Look, what is that? Are those stairs?"

"I can only see two legs climbing. Who is it?"

"..."

[The sky was thick with dark clouds, filled with the roar of thunder and the flash of lightning.]

[The staircase was incredibly long.]

[The silhouette of a black-haired man could be seen from behind, ascending the celestial steps one pace at a time.]

[One step, two steps...]

[At the very summit of the stairs, a magnificent throne stood as if perched upon the edge of the heavens.]

[The figure stood before the throne in silence. After a long moment, he placed his hand upon it.]

[Accompanied by a burst of radiant light, the figure slowly took his seat upon the throne.]
