Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: Mammon: "I Have Already Ascended to the Heavens!"

Chapter 362: Mammon: "I Have Already Ascended to the Heavens!"

"This is..."

Atop the distant hilltop, Platinum and the rest were completely stunned.

Serena's eyes went wide, staring at the seven overwhelmingly powerful Legendary Pokémon arrayed below. The entire landscape was now saturated with their terrifying, oppressive presence!

"This evil Hoopa can even summon Legendary Pokémon of its own."

Baraz's heart sank; it felt like it was dropping straight through the floor. And it looked like the summoned Legendaries had all fallen under its control as well?

How were they supposed to fight something like this?

"Will Mr. Mammon be alright?"

Even knowing perfectly well how genuinely strong Mammon was, Serena couldn't help but feel deeply worried right now.

"Don't worry. Mammon never enters a fight unprepared. In a situation like this, I'm confident he's already anticipated it."

Caitlin, though genuinely shaken herself, held firm in her belief in Mammon. From the moment they'd first met until now, she had never once seen him truly cornered — today would surely be no different.

"That's right — trust Mr. Mammon, he'll win!" Platinum, too, held complete faith in him.

"Mm-hm. Mammon is a man the Great One itself has personally blessed — he won't fall easily. And besides..."

Baraz steadied himself as well, choosing to place his trust in Mammon.

Besides — if things truly reached an irrecoverable point, they still had the Prison Bottle as their final trump card.

—

Back on the battlefield.

"Human, send me back right now!"

Kyurem kept pressing the issue, genuinely reluctant to get dragged into a fight it saw no winning odds in. And besides, this whole affair had nothing to do with it in the first place, didn't it?

"Kyurem, have I misjudged you? The Kyurem I remember isn't a dragon that bullies the weak and cowers before the strong." Mammon raised an eyebrow.

"Heh~ what business is it of yours how you see me?" Kyurem simply scoffed.

"None at all, sure. But honestly, I never expected that the world's foremost Ice-type dragon, Kyurem, was really just a gutless dragon that backs off the moment it spots a real opponent."

Mammon said flatly.

Kyurem's golden, savage eyes flashed instantly, its ferocious gaze fixing on Mammon.

"Human, if you're merely trying to provoke me into a rage with your words, you've succeeded."

Kyurem's telepathic voice was thoroughly low.

"But even if I lend my strength, what difference would it make? With THAT kind of lineup on the other side, how could we possibly win?"

"On the strength of this Black Rayquaza? Or that one over there? Or this useless white dragon?"

Kyurem's dragon eyes flicked over to Black Rayquaza — genuinely strong, Kyurem would grant it that much. And Mega Mewtwo Y over there, its presence was genuinely formidable too. And then?

As for itself — with the empty gap in its own body right now, even if it could still transform into Black Kyurem or White Kyurem using the trace remnants of the black and white dragon genes still inside it, so what? Forget its current incomplete state — even fully merged into Complete Zygarde Complete Forme, no wait, Complete Kyurem, that still wouldn't be enough to turn the tide of a fight like this.

Ha?

Hearing Kyurem still finding time to mock itself in this very moment, Reshiram flared with genuine indignation.

Yeah — it didn't dare actually hiss at Kyurem, though; that hot-tempered Ice dragon really would go after it if provoked.

"Naturally. But do you really think I've come with no preparation at all?"

Mammon chuckled, a Poké Ball opening in his hand.

ROAR—

A deep, hoarse dragon's roar sounded out, and the legendary Creator's own raging splinter, Origin Forme Giratina, twisted its massive, centipede-like, fearsome dragon body into view, appearing high in the sky.

Its cold, savage dragon eyes fixed on the seven Legendaries arrayed across the field.

This was... Giratina?!

Kyurem's and Black Rayquaza's eyes both shifted slightly.

"Human, you've actually caught Giratina." Black Rayquaza couldn't help a note of genuine surprise.

Well, damn. It was starting to realize this human was a genuine treasure trove — every single encounter brought some new, considerable surprise.

"Mamon~ amazing!" Confined Hoopa clapped its little hands in admiration too. Come to think of it, Giratina had been one of the very few Legendaries the old, unrestrained version of itself had never dared to "play with."

Yeah — because Giratina was simply too dark and brooding, and held an extraordinarily long grudge. Even Hoopa couldn't afford to cross it. Otherwise, imagine having Giratina silently spying on you from the Distortion World every single day — who could possibly stand that?

And the real issue was, it didn't just spy — it ambushed, too!

"Ah~ fortunate enough to have earned Giratina's recognition. We're kindred spirits, so to speak." Mammon said, genuinely modest.

"Tch~" Black Rayquaza clicked its tongue, its long, serpentine tail flicking lightly.

"But even with Giratina's help, our odds still aren't especially good. My own mate's combat strength is only slightly below my own, and on their side, the weakest one is..."

Black Rayquaza's dragon eyes swept across the opposing lineup, lingering especially on its own mate, the Mega Rayquaza standing across the field.

Though Black Rayquaza always styled itself the strongest of its kind, its mate's own combat strength was, honestly, staggeringly impressive in its own right. Back in the day, it had been the one to suppress both Groudon and Kyogre — easily forcing both land and sea sovereigns out of their Primal Reversion states with ease.

"Looks like Dialga's the weakest one over there."

Black Rayquaza's gaze finally settled on Dialga.

Who would ever believe it — that someday, Dialga, one of the very "six deities" from the dawn of creation itself, would end up being the weak link in a lineup?

And yet that was exactly the reality here — without Origin Forme, Dialga was, right now, the weakest member of the opposing side.

"Kyogre can handle that one."

Mammon threw out another Poké Ball, and the legendary sovereign of the deep sea spread its fins.

The moment it took in the situation across the field, Kyogre's eyes shifted noticeably.

"Kyogre, hold Dialga off — think you can manage that?" Mammon asked it.

Kyogre gave a cool, composed nod, a flash of golden light sweeping across its body as it shifted into Primal Reversion.

Primal Kyogre against a regular-Forme Dialga — Mammon was confident his own plump fish could hold it down at least somewhat. After all, without Origin Forme, Dialga's actual combat strength wasn't especially extraordinary.

In truth, deploying Primal Kyogre specifically against Dialga was mostly meant to prevent Dialga from using its "time" powers to cause trouble for their side. Dialga's temporal manipulation could be a genuinely nasty disruptive tool if left unchecked.

"And then there's the six real bones to chew on." Mammon narrowed his eyes slightly.

Evil Hoopa, Origin Forme Palkia, Mega Rayquaza, dark-horse Calyrex, Complete Forme Zygarde, Terastal Terapagos.

Not a single easy target among those six.

"Human, since you're determined to fight and you want my help — why not simply give me the white dragon instead?"

Kyurem's low telepathic voice rang out.

"WHAT?!" Alarm shot through Reshiram's mind. That damned Ice dragon — still coveting its body after all this time, of course.

"Reincorporating the white dragon would substantially boost my own strength — better odds of victory this way."

Kyurem's cold golden eyes swept across Origin Palkia and Complete Zygarde.

It didn't bother bringing up wanting to be sent back anymore — partly, of course, because of Mammon's provocation earlier. Kyurem knew perfectly well Mammon had been deliberately baiting it, but even so, its proud dragon nature genuinely fell for that kind of goading regardless.

And second, it figured that if a human could show this much confidence going into a fight like this, their side might genuinely have some real chance at victory. Winning a battle like this — even for Kyurem — would be a genuinely memorable achievement.

"I'd already considered that, actually. But Kyurem, the white dragon is my companion."

Mammon patted Reshiram's body, signaling it not to worry.

Reshiram let out a relieved breath at that. Mammon really was the best hero there ever was!!

"You needn't worry. If I genuinely intended to consume the white dragon, I wouldn't have bothered wasting words on you at all," Kyurem said coldly.

"Last time you beat me, you told me to spare both the white dragon and the black dragon. I won't go back on that."

"Good. Not just the white dragon — I'll temporarily hand over the black dragon to you as well," Mammon replied.

Reshiram: "???"

"Truly?" Kyurem was genuinely surprised too.

"I trust your word, Kyurem. You say one thing and mean it, don't you?"

Right — the moment he'd learned the Hoopa incident was beginning, Mammon had, naturally, already made preparations — including specifically borrowing Zekrom from N ahead of time.

Precisely to serve as "fusion material" for Kyurem.

"Hmph~!"

Kyurem's golden dragon eyes flickered slightly, letting out a cold snort but saying nothing further.

Still, how to put it — a small, oddly unfamiliar feeling stirred somewhere inside it regardless.

"Come on out."

Mammon threw out two more Poké Balls, releasing Yveltal and Zekrom.

The moment Yveltal emerged, it sensed the presence radiating from across the field, and every feather on its body practically stood on end at the sight of those seven Pokémon.

The hell — was its own new trainer just a magnet for trouble like this??

Zekrom, meanwhile, spotted Kyurem already positioned on their side and immediately understood exactly why Mammon had specifically borrowed it from N.

Zekrom shot Mammon a distinctly resentful glance. It would absolutely have words with N about this once it got back — how could he agree to just lend it out this easily?

Mammon switched his mount over to Yveltal, briefly bringing Zekrom up to speed on the current situation.

The bigger picture matters most here. Sorry to put you through this.

With those eight words, Zekrom had no real grounds left to refuse, letting out a resigned sigh of agreement.

Kyurem, for its part, showed no such restraint — a beam of light from the DNA Splicers shot out instantly, embedding itself directly into both Zekrom and Reshiram's bodies.

In the blink of an eye, both dragon deities dissolved into orbs of light and were swallowed whole by Kyurem.

The next instant, black and white light flared wildly across Kyurem's body, flame and lightning surging and crackling ceaselessly.

"ROAAAR—!!"

Accompanied by an overwhelmingly commanding dragon's roar, Complete Kyurem made its grand, dignified reappearance.

"How does it feel, Kyurem?" Mammon watched Complete Kyurem, nodding with satisfaction.

"There is nothing left that I lack!"

Complete Kyurem's eyes blazed with fierce battle-readiness, its presence genuinely, staggeringly overwhelming.

Not to be outdone, Black Rayquaza soared high into the sky, the light of Mega Evolution flashing across it — Mega Evolution!

A dazzling ripple of light traced the length of its entire body, its majestic dragon eyes fixed directly on the seven Legendaries across the field.

"Rayquaza." Mammon released yet another Poké Ball, and Young Rayquaza appeared.

"Father, Mother, she's..."

The moment it emerged, Young Rayquaza's eyes landed first on Black Rayquaza, then caught sight of Mega Rayquaza across the field.

Young Rayquaza was stunned.

"Your mother's mind has been seized by evil means. Rayquaza, this time, I need your strength to help save her."

Mammon told Young Rayquaza.

"What?! Damn it!" Young Rayquaza was genuinely furious.

"Mega Evolve first."

"Right!"

Sure, Mammon had admittedly never given Young Rayquaza a huge amount of personal attention, which was exactly why it still hadn't learned Dragon Ascent yet — but Young Rayquaza still trusted Mammon enough regardless, and Mammon had already made it capable of Mega Evolving.

Mammon raised his Key Stone, and light flared across Young Rayquaza's body.

Another Mega Rayquaza made its own dignified entrance onto the field!

Seeing this, Black Rayquaza gave a small nod of approval — sure, this young Rayquaza still had a ways to go, but it was still young yet. Black Rayquaza could only hope it would rise to the occasion going forward.

Maybe, after a genuinely high-intensity battle like today's, Young Rayquaza would finally have its breakthrough.

"Excellent! Everyone, I'm counting on you today!"

One green and one black Mega Rayquaza, Complete Kyurem, Origin Giratina, and Primal Kyogre flanking him on every side, Yveltal beneath him as his mount.

The black-haired young man, thoroughly exhilarated, now stood, quite literally, in the heavens themselves!

"Right here, right now! This is the very pinnacle!"

"Defeat them, and there will be no one left in this world we cannot overcome!"

—

Meanwhile, out in Kalos's waters.

A rainbow-plumed great bird beat its wings tirelessly, rushing toward a location someone had specified.

Ho-Oh genuinely wanted to curse someone out right about now. Every single time, it's somewhere impossibly far away — doesn't this guy ever get tired of flying?

"Damn it! You lousy human, you'd better have a GOOD reason for this!"
