Chapter 72 - The Golden Giant Wave

A: "Does the Vacuum Sphere really have this much power?"

Onoki: "@Rasa, could it be that you've been hiding your true strength, kid?"

Rasa: "I have no idea!"

Rasa himself was bewildered. How could he not know the power of Wind Release?

Besides, he was perfectly clear about the strength of his own Jonin, wasn't he?

Could it be that they evolved without taking him along?

Senju Tobirama: "Wasn't it mentioned earlier that my older brother took the lead in researching a method to utilize Honkai Energy? Those Sunagakure Jonin on the Sky Screen should be using that exact method."

Samui: "Is it really that powerful? But what about the price that Lord Kazekage mentioned?"

Senju Hashirama: "That remains unknown. I'm guessing it has something to do with the Erosion of Honkai Energy."

[Such an attack, capable of damaging their Honkai Energy carapaces, unsurprisingly drew the attention of the targeted Honkai Beasts and those surrounding them.

They spotted the tiny humans in the Desert ahead, raising their forelimbs as they marched toward the Sunagakure Jonin.

Watching the massive, dozens-of-meters-tall Honkai Beasts lumbering toward them...

In that moment, to those Sunagakure Jonin, it was no different from watching a vast mountain range rolling over to crush them!

Seeing the Honkai Beasts already shifting in their direction, the Jonin immediately turned and fled.

Since they had successfully baited the Honkai Beasts, the next step was to lure them onto their predetermined route!

However, even though they had drawn away a batch of Honkai Beasts from the herd...

...compared to the colossal herd as a whole, this small group of fewer than a hundred Honkai Beasts was merely a drop in the ocean!

Naturally, the Jonin knew this as well.

Thus, after leaving a small squad behind to keep pulling the aggro of these Honkai Beasts, the rest shed the beasts' hostility. Relying on their superior agility, they circled back around the herd to continue luring out even more Honkai Beasts!

Yet, even with all the Jonin giving it their all, they only managed to coax out a small pack of a few hundred from the massive Beast Tide composed of thousands of Honkai Beasts.

And this was already their limit.

"Damn it, is this as far as we can go?"

Glancing at the Honkai Beasts trailing closely behind, one Jonin bitterly resented his own lack of strength.

"This is our limit. If we split off more Jonin to go back and attract the Honkai Beasts, it will exceed our control. Everything will spiral out of hand, and the mission will fail."

Baki glanced back at the Honkai Beasts behind them.

He, too, felt that the number of Honkai Beasts they had lured was far too low.

The Honkai Beasts they had drawn out barely accounted for a tenth of the entire herd.

It was a far cry from their projected numbers!

"Lord Kazekage, the rest is up to you..."

A drop of sweat rolled down Baki's forehead as he looked at the figure half-buried beneath the yellow sand.

At the same time, Rasa hid beneath the gravel, sensing the Gold Dust he could manipulate.

As the Kazekage, Rasa similarly possessed the Magnet Release utilized by successive generations of Kazekage in Sunagakure.

However, unlike the Iron Sand that the Third Kazekage could control, his was Magnet Release: Gold Dust.

It allowed him to manipulate Gold Dust or any gold-bearing substances.

Due to Sunagakure's issues with material shortages and financial deficits, he frequently used his Magnet Release to sift for gold in the Desert, resolving the village's financial crises.

Of course, beyond that, he had also kept a portion of the Gold Dust to serve as his own weapon.

After all, while he could control Gold Dust, the Chakra consumption and proficiency required to manipulate ordinary Gold Dust versus Gold Dust he had personally refined with his Chakra were naturally on completely different levels.

But right now, Rasa only regretted not saving more Gold Dust for himself.

Only when it came time to actually use it did he realize that the amount of Gold Dust he possessed was simply not enough!

"Even though I hastily brought out all the gold Sunagakure could muster, and dredged up quite a bit of Gold Dust from deep underground, it's still far from enough!"

Against Ninja, this amount of Gold Dust would naturally be more than enough. But the enemy consisted of massive, phenomenally resilient Honkai Beasts; his meager supply of Gold Dust seemed somewhat inadequate here.

"But even so, I have no choice but to go all out!"

"Hah!"

Rasa snapped his eyes open. In that instant, it was as if the entire Desert had begun to boil.

Ripples swept across the sea of sand like a sponge, and countless grains of sand began to dance, as if tremors were vibrating from deep within the earth.

Immediately after, a golden ocean surged up from the depths of the Desert, crashing toward the beast herd like a tidal wave.

Boom!

A hundred-meter-tall giant golden wave crashed head-on into the Beast Tide, causing the vanguard of Honkai Beasts to freeze in their tracks—some were even bowled over by the surging wave.

But while they had stopped, the Honkai Beasts behind them had not.

Consequently, the Honkai Beasts in the rear slammed into those in the front, and the vanguard beasts crashed down onto the shores of Gold Dust, half of their bodies buried in the ensuing pile-up.

But this wasn't over. Following that initial wave, a second giant wave rose up, halting even more Honkai Beasts and burying an even greater number.

Then came the third wave, the fourth...

It wasn't until the fifth giant wave had passed that the Desert finally returned to a state of calm.

And these terrifying waves, any single one of which was powerful enough to swallow any of the Five Great Ninja Villages, had slammed into this herd of Honkai Beasts a full five times.

Countless amounts of golden Gold Dust and Honkai Beasts piled up in the Desert, forming a mountain hundreds of meters high!

And the beast herd, faced with such an onslaught, finally ground to a halt.]

Deidara: "Holy crap! Is the Kazekage really this strong? Thank goodness Master Sasori poisoned the Kazekage ahead of time, or else the two of us probably would've perished in Sunagakure."

Sasori: "No, the Kazekage isn't this strong..."

Watching Rasa's performance on the Sky Screen, Sasori also fell silent.

How could he not know how much strength the Kazekage had?

After all, the Third Kazekage was still in his hands; he couldn't be more familiar with the Kazekage's Magnet Release.

Yet Rasa's display here made him doubt his own sanity.

Temari: "Father, you really are amazing!"

Uchiha Madara: "With this level of Magnet Release, I, Uchiha Madara, acknowledge you as the strongest Kazekage!"

Rasa: "..."

Rasa himself, however, was sweating bullets.

Did he not know how capable he actually was?

He really wasn't this strong at all!

[Pant... pant... pant...

Using the Gold Dust to support himself, Rasa floated in mid-air, looking down at the mountainous pile below.

Although the results were remarkable and it looked as though he had dealt with quite a few Honkai Beasts...

...he knew that the Honkai Beasts merely appeared worse for wear. In truth, most of them had only suffered minor injuries, like cracks forming on their carapaces.

Even the ones with shattered carapaces, missing large chunks, represented the most severe injuries among them.

Yet for Honkai Beasts, this couldn't even be considered a light injury.

As long as the Core within their bodies wasn't shattered, it couldn't be said that the Honkai Beasts were truly harmed. At best, it merely halted their movements temporarily!

Most importantly, unleashing these five consecutive attacks had cost him a massive amount of Chakra!]
