That night—
Rain poured again.
Just like the day they separated.
Ananya stood by the window, lost in memories.
Aarav walked up behind her.
"Why didn't you fight back?" he asked suddenly.
She didn't turn.
"What?"
"That day," he said."When I accused you… why didn't you prove me wrong?"
Ananya let out a soft, bitter laugh.
"I tried."
Aarav's chest tightened.
"You didn't listen."
Silence.
"I showed you everything," she continued."But you had already decided I was guilty."
Her voice broke slightly.
"You didn't trust me enough to even doubt yourself."
Aarav closed his eyes.
Every word felt like punishment.
"I was angry… blind… stupid—"
"Yes," she cut him off.
"You were."
He didn't argue.
Because she was right.
"I lost everything because of that mistake," he said quietly.
Ananya finally turned to face him.
"And I lost more."
Their eyes met.
Pain.
Regret.
Love.
All tangled together.
