Chapter 24 - 24

"You..."

Holding Ben Parker in his arms, Peter looked at Logan's half-smiling gaze. In the end, he still turned his head away, not daring to meet his eyes.

"What exactly do you want with me?"

Peter shifted his gaze directly to Fenris.

He had already figured it out. Logan was just the sidekick. The one who truly wanted something from him was this young man who looked plain at first glance, yet was actually absurdly dangerous.

"Can I see your web?"

Fenris crouched down too and asked with a serious expression.

"...Sure."

Peter only hesitated for a moment before agreeing cleanly.

He lightly extended a hand, and a one-meter strand of web appeared in Fenris's palm.

"Kid, using up that much protein like this, your body's not gonna hold up when you're older."

Logan crossed his arms and snarked from the side.

Peter Parker's face darkened.

It was just that he wasn't wearing the mask right now, so his usual trash-talking power wasn't coming out properly.

Fenris had no time to pay attention to either of them. He carefully studied the freshly produced strand of web, and his eyes grew brighter and brighter.

"Peter, I need a large supply of your web."

Without the slightest hesitation, Fenris made the request outright.

"A large supply?"

Peter's face immediately went pale. How much would he have to eat to make up for that?

"Name your price."

Fenris had no interest in using gratitude as leverage, so he got straight to the point.

Ever since looting plenty of valuables from Alkali Lake Research Facility before leaving, he was not short on money in the slightest. He was full of confidence.

"Uh, well..."

Peter blinked, hesitated for a second, then slowly held up five fingers.

"Fifty thousand?"

"Sure. No problem."

Fenris agreed without hesitation.

A mere fifty thousand dollars. If it could unlock and light up Mothra, then he was making an outrageous profit.

"Fif... ty thousand?"

Peter smacked his lips. He had originally meant to say five hundred. After all, this webbing was basically unlimited for him.

But he wasn't stupid enough to say that out loud. He nodded without the slightest pause.

"Right. Fifty thousand. Definitely fifty thousand."

"Whenever you need more, just come find me. Unlimited supply!"

Peter Parker thumped his chest enthusiastically, grinning so hard the corners of his mouth nearly reached his ears.

Fifty thousand dollars. For a student about to graduate high school, that was a completely unimaginable fortune.

"Unlimited supply?"

Fenris paused. He had thought Peter meant fifty thousand each time.

"Deal."

The two looked at each other and both saw satisfaction in the other's eyes.

"All right, take your uncle home first."

Fenris nodded happily and handed Peter an address.

"If you have time tomorrow, come here. Any time."

"Okay."

Watching Peter Parker carry Ben Parker away, Logan turned to Fenris in confusion.

"That kid obviously didn't really want fifty thousand, and you still agreed?"

"Logan, you're still too young." Fenris was beaming, patting Logan on the shoulder in delight. "What I bought with that fifty thousand wasn't webbing."

"Besides, for me, this fifty thousand is a steal."

"Come on, let's go. After tomorrow, we head back. I've been missing my little cabin like crazy."

...

The next day.

Because fifty thousand dollars was about to land in his hands, Peter Parker had been too excited to sleep much that night. Early the next morning, he arrived at the hotel and knocked on Fenris's door.

"Hey, good morning."

The moment Fenris opened the door, Peter Parker slipped through the gap and into the room.

"Morning, kid."

Logan came out of the other bedroom with a large portion of his muscles bare, those clean, powerful lines filling Peter's eyes with envy.

"I hope in a couple years I've got muscles that big too."

Peter flexed his biceps.

"He's got bulk, sure, but compared to you, his actual strength isn't even close."

Fenris ruthlessly exposed Logan on the spot.

"You know how to talk to people at all?"

Just as Logan started getting annoyed out of embarrassment, Fenris hurriedly dragged Peter into his bedroom.

"Fifty thousand dollars. Cash."

Under Peter Parker's eager stare, Fenris tossed a thick stack of bills straight to him.

Peter caught the money and held it up to his nose with a blissful expression, taking a deep breath.

With this money, he could finally improve life for Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Uncle Ben's car, which he had been driving for over ten years, could be replaced. Aunt May could buy a few clothes she had always wanted but never let herself get. And his giant old computer could finally be upgraded to something better...

"What do I need to do, mister?"

Fenris's generosity sent Peter's opinion of him soaring.

"My name's Fenris."

Fenris introduced himself briefly, then asked with some hesitation, "Have you ever made a cocoon?"

"A cocoon?"

Peter froze.

"Yeah."

Looking at the certainty in Fenris's eyes, Peter thought for a moment, then nodded.

"I can try."

"Good. Let's do it."

With that, Fenris simply sat down on the floor.

"Right now?"

Just as Peter was about to start, he suddenly remembered something. He quickly took off his backpack, pulled out a small chocolate box from inside, and tossed it to Logan, who was leaning against the doorframe watching the show.

"This is the webbing I made last night. There's enough length in there to last you a long time."

Peter explained, "It's just that webbing naturally degrades after a while. The batch I'm giving you can last longer, but it still won't stay intact forever."

"If you need more, just come find me here and I'll give you a fresh batch."

"Works for me."

Fenris was very satisfied with Peter's after-sales support.

"Go ahead."

"Okay."

A large amount of webbing shot from Peter's wrists. After some time passed, a cocoon over a meter tall had completely wrapped Fenris up.

"No good. I'm kind of running on empty... Looks like I'll need to find a way to make artificial webbing."

Peter tugged at the corner of his mouth and suddenly remembered what Logan had said yesterday.

Logan stepped forward and knocked on the cocoon. Though it had clearly been woven from soft webbing, it now had a somewhat hardened texture.

"Fenris, can you hear me?"

Fenris did not answer.

The instant he was wrapped inside the cocoon, his consciousness had already been completely drawn away by the Titan Encyclopedia blazing with brilliant light.

After Godzilla had been lit up, the second page of the Encyclopedia had now finally opened all the way, and a Titan resembling a butterfly appeared before Fenris's eyes.

Compared to Godzilla, her six legs were exceptionally slender, and a long, sharp stinger extended from her tail.

At the same time, her remarkably elongated wings were covered in intricate, exquisite patterns. On her forewings were markings that resembled a pair of eyes, making her look especially cold and majestic.

Brilliant radiance poured from her body. For a moment, Fenris's entire vision was filled with dazzling, multicolored light.

"So it really is you, Queen of the Monsters, Mothra."

Mothra's wings could release devastating God Rays, powerful enough to swat even pink Godzilla flying away with ease.

And through her eggs, she possessed an almost endless power of rebirth.

And that was only one of Mothra's many forms.

Because of the trait that let her grow infinitely stronger and keep evolving by absorbing radiation, as Fenris himself became stronger and stronger, Mothra would also unlock more and more forms.

Aqua Mothra. Light Speed Mothra, with the power to travel through time. Armored Mothra...

"Mothra really doesn't fall that far behind Godzilla. If I can successfully light her up, then my abilities..."

At that thought, Fenris could feel his heartbeat pounding uncontrollably.

"This money was beyond worth it. Forget fifty thousand. I wouldn't trade this for fifty million, or even five hundred million."
