The moonlight filtered through the cracked window of Caelum's room, casting long, jagged shadows across the floor. Kira, the former Nightshade Assassin, stood in the corner, her presence so thin it was almost non-existent. She was looking at her hands, still unable to believe that the soul-shackles of the Academy Elders had truly been shattered.
"You're wondering if this is real," Caelum said without turning around. He was staring at a floating holographic interface that only he could see. Lines of crimson and neon-blue code were swirling in front of his eyes.
"I spent ten years as their puppet, Thorne—no, Master," Kira whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "I thought death was the only way out. How did you... how did you rewrite a Level 90 Binding Curse with a single touch?"
Caelum turned, his eyes glowing with a faint, crystalline light. "Because a curse is just a program, Kira. A set of instructions designed to restrict a soul. If you know the language it's written in, you can simply... delete the restriction."
He stood up and walked toward the center of the room. "But we don't have time for a history lesson. The Elders are panicking. They sent their best assassin and she didn't return. By morning, they will initiate a 'Sector Lockdown'. They will try to isolate this dorm and erase everyone inside to cover their tracks."

Caelum's smile was cold. "They think they control the field. Let's show them who really owns the map."
He raised his hand, and the World Key Fragment hummed in response. [COMMAND: INITIATE_BACKDOOR_PROTOCOL].
Suddenly, the floor beneath them began to glow. Not with the golden mana of the Academy, but with the dark, static-filled energy of the Void. A circular portal, flickering like a broken screen, opened up.
"Where does this lead?" Kira asked, instinctively reaching for her daggers.
"To the 'Null Space'," Caelum replied. "It's a place between the layers of the System. A world where their laws don't apply. I've built a temporary base there. Go. I need you to gather information. I've granted you 'Sub-Admin' access to the Academy's surveillance logs. Find out who gave the order to kill me."
Kira looked at the flickering portal, then back at Caelum. She realized that she wasn't just following a powerful mage. She was following a God in the making. Without another word, she stepped into the static and vanished.

Left alone, Caelum sat back down. His body felt heavy. Even with Admin permissions, his current F-Rank body was struggling to process the massive amounts of data he was manipulating. He needed to break his rank—not by training like the others, but by 'Patching' his own DNA.
"You want a war, Silas Vane?" Caelum muttered, his gaze fixed on the Grandmaster's spire in the distance. "I'll give you a war. But I won't fight your soldiers. I'll just delete the ground they stand on."
He closed his eyes, and the entire room began to glitch. The furniture pixelated, the walls turned into binary code, and for a brief moment, Caelum Thorne ceased to be a human. He was a virus, and he was spreading.
