Chapter 82
Gabriel was well aware of the way people spoke about her behind her back.
A woman who didn’t sit quietly doing embroidery, enjoy teatime, and make efforts to maintain a slender waist and pale, smooth skin.
A woman who went outside and shot arrows, hunted, built her muscles, and enjoyed drinking––like a man.
When she heard such talk, Gabriel didn't even snort. She enjoyed hunting, drinking, building muscles, and tanning her skin because she simply liked it.
It also didn't matter if men didn't like her since being courted by them wasn’t her life goal.
However, being openly insulted, right in front of her face, was a different story. It hurt Gabriel, especially when it came from a person whom she had helped with goodwill. When that moment replayed in her mind, Gabriel would sometimes even toss and turn in bed before sleep.
