“Aerta Arlez will disappear.”
Those words made Zahid freeze on the spot. A soft smile formed on Pope Zenoxius’s face as he watched Zahid, who was always so relaxed, turn stiff.
“Aarantium will soon devour Aerta completely. Don’t you want to save her?”
His sly whisper penetrated through Zahid’s heart. The reason that he couldn’t ignore what Zenoxius was saying, like he usually would, was crystal clear. The man had just confirmed everything he had been worried about.
From the moment she had that dream about Aarantium so long ago, Zahid had been anxious that such a day would arrive. Though it started out as an ambiguous concern that he kept inside himself, it grew bigger and eventually became the reality that Zenoxius was currently confirming to him.
Aarantium was going to inflict harm on Aerta.
Zahid neutralized his facial expression belatedly and spoke.
