Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 [Wand Appearance] System

  Chapter 8 [Wand Appearance] System

It's clear that using secondhand wands, especially for dark wizards, is not a wise choice.

However, this isn't an ironclad rule for the Granger family.

In fact, they have a long tradition of using wands inherited from their ancestors.

The talent of [Plant Affinity] applies equally to wands made of wandwood.

The side effects of secondhand wands don't exist for Grangers who have awakened [Plant Affinity].

Before his memories awakened, Basil wasn't allowed by his grandmother to use the wands from his father and grandfather

because he didn't exhibit any control over plants.

He simply didn't let them be harmed.

So, traditionally, he should have gone to Ollivanders to choose a wand that 'chosen' him.

But current economic conditions don't allow for that.

  And this blackthorn wand...

According to the fine rules of wand ownership, a conquered wand usually submits to its new owner.

Not to mention, it also possesses the talent of [Plant Affinity].

If it weren't for the lack of gems, using it to activate the [Wand Appearance] function would be the right choice.

But in reality, Basil's hesitation to activate it immediately wasn't due to a lack of gems.

He had already gained 5000 gems after killing Fenrir.

His reason for not activating it was concern about whether the wand could be replaced later.

What he wanted was the wand passed down through the Granger family.

But his grandmother had magically locked it in a quartz box.

He had been trying to open it for days.

Until today, having resolved his doubts about magic, he chose to accept his fate.

The [Wand Appearance] system was primarily about the appearance.

The bonuses were on the appearance, not on the wand itself.

Once materialized, the wands with names like [Extraordinary Guide], [Duel Master], [Dragon Knight], [Wand of Time], and [Obsidian Shadow] would have far more powerful effects than in the game.

Perhaps the key to his success lay in them!

Therefore, he couldn't delay any longer.

"Itchy~" Basil rubbed his ear, which Fanta had lightly pecked, and fed it another piece of dried mouse.

Then, his right hand resolutely reached for the blackthorn wand.

  Whoosh!

  Gem: 5932.432 (-2000)

The wand in his hand turned into a blue light and entered his body.

His consciousness was pulled back into the Hogwarts that existed in his mind.

The [Spellbook] opened, and a wand appeared in the lower right corner. Boom!

A series of magnificent, indescribable colors flashed before his eyes.

Uniquely shaped wands, surging with various powerful forces, appeared before him.

He subconsciously reached out his hand.

As if bewitched, he moved closer to the nearest [Dragon Knight].

It was so beautiful; the many branches and thorns of the blackthorn wood were artistically utilized in this wand. The staff's handle

resembled the head of a roaring dragon, its black wood gleaming with a metallic sheen, its

fiery red shaft covered with spikes resembling a black dragon's spine.

  However...

[Ding! Data missing. Consume 1000 gems to recreate?]

As his hand drew closer, the description of the [Dragon Knight] appeared on his retina:

[Fourteen inches, Blackthorn wood, monstrous whiskers, extremely hard]

[Born from the legend of King Arthur, embodying the great miracle of the Eternal King's ascent to Britain]

[The power of the King of Knights makes the staff incredibly hard, stronger than metal and stone.]

[The core of the staff beats with the heartbeat of a red dragon!]

[Your spells will be filled with the power of the red dragon, a fiery burst of energy!]

  [Dragon-specific attack +50%]

  [Fire spells +50%] [

  Strength +10%] [

  Critical hit +50%] [

  Critical damage +10%]

  "Yes!" Basil gritted his teeth.

  *Whoosh!*

  Gem: 3932.441 (-1000)

A wand, seemingly crafted from metal and radiating warmth, appeared in his hand.

The heavy heartbeat of the red dragon deep within the wand began to overlap with Basil's.

In an instant, his heart seemed to ignite. His

flowing blood thickened, like molten lava.

His muscles bulged, and layers of scales flashed beneath his skin.

His azure eyes suddenly seemed to transform into golden vertical pupils.

[Family Trait: Red Dragon Blood (New)]

[Note: While in the Dragon Blood Ignition state, your skin can resist spells that deal up to 3 points of damage, your health increases by 20, you are immune to fire damage up to 50 points, and fire damage is reduced by 50%.]

  However, it wasn't over yet.

This was just the change brought about by the [Dragon Knight].

He forgot about the wand itself, which had a unique setting in the game:

  basic attacks.

Wizards could swing their wands to deal damage to nearby enemies equal to their attack power in their personal profile.

  This was beginning to materialize.

Just as he was about to wonder why he had chosen the [Dragon Knight], Basil was once again drawn to the changes in his body.

The thing called the magical magnetic field on his body began to rotate.

An invisible force was born, enveloping Basil and his wand.

In his mind, the [Spellbook] moved automatically without wind.

The magic power section in his personal profile changed back to attack power.

  [Attack Power: 7+3]

He swung it sharply into the air.

  Boom!

A black and red light flashed, and a violent pressure rushed out of the window.

  Basil's pupils dilated in shock.

"Damn, is this a normal attack?"

"Is this some kind of magical magnetic field rotation?"

"What in this magical world can withstand this kind of power? Just thinking about it makes me want to surrender!"

If such power hit Fenrir's head, it would probably explode like hitting a watermelon.

"Is it because of the bonuses to strength, critical hit, and critical damage?"

He didn't think about it in detail.

Because, in the game, the appearance of a wand also represents the appearance of the magic bar, or blue bar.

After regaining his senses, he found that in addition to the magic power defined by wizards,

there was also a warm, flowing, non-material existence within his body, radiating a faint majesty.

It flowed gently through his limbs and bones.

"Devil's Web!" Focusing his attention on this existence, he activated the summoning card.

It inexplicably decreased by a portion.

At the same time, a blue light flashed, and a Devil's Web composed of vines with snake-like tendrils appeared in the room.

There was no loss of stamina, only the mental effort required to use it.

"Devil's Web!" Forgetting the concept of magic power, he confused this existence with magic power.

This existence decreased by a portion again.

  Some of his stamina vanished.

A larger Devil's Web appeared before him.

His focus was intense; his absolute control over the summoned creature caused the data of this Devil's Web to appear on his retina.

  [Miraculous Plant: Devil's Web]

  [Level: 2]

  [Mana Cost: 2]

  [Health Points: 130+10]

  [Damage: 10+5]

  [Damage per Second: 2+1]

  "This is also 'magic'?"

"Using it simultaneously allows you to summon a higher-level creature, like having [Devil's Web] plus a slot for [Echo]."

Basil's expression was bewildered. Did he now possess the magic power of a blue-bar mage from Chinese fantasy novels?

  He had three casting methods.

Moreover, he felt that the recovery of this 'magic' was very similar to internal energy.

Like in martial arts novels, it recovered through the circulation of Qi within the body.

Perhaps because he had only possessed it for a short time, this 'magic' showed no improvement after use.

Unlike regular magic, which showed subtle, imperceptible progress after use,

like muscles becoming stronger after exercise.

And it remained exactly the same quantity as when it appeared within his body, without the slightest change.

Its recovery didn't draw anything from him.

It was as if some inviolable theorem was written into it,

  defining its quality and state.

Therefore, after being depleted, it would automatically regenerate from nothing.
