Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Transmigrating into jujutsu kaisen

Jujutsu World

A high school in the suburbs of Tokyo.

Sunlight shone into the room, breaking the gloom inside.

The teacher stood on the podium, lecturing vividly, while the students were fully focused on taking notes.

Only the boy sitting in the window seat at the back of the classroom looked bewildered and dumbfounded.

"I just took a nap and had a dream, and then... I transmigrated?" Looking at the scene in the classroom around him and the memories that had suddenly appeared in his mind, Rin never expected such a thing to happen to him.

According to the memories of the original owner of this body.

He was an ethnic man who had moved to Japan to live at a young age, but ever since he moved to this place, he would occasionally see strange Cursed Spirits that others couldn't see, and this situation only happened to him.

So he guessed that he had likely come to the world of the anime "jujutsu kaisen".

Rin's heart was pounding, and he was both excited and nervous.

According to his memories, the current date is June 20, 2017. There is still some time before the official plot unfolds, and the next major event is the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons in Tokyo initiated by Geto Suguru on December 24, 2017.

This means he still has plenty of time to improve his strength and protect himself.

Looking at the strange environment before him, Rin couldn't help but sigh.

He didn't know what his aptitude was like now, whether he possessed an Innate Cursed Technique or anything similar, nor did he know if he could protect himself in this dangerous world.

He frowned, feeling somewhat troubled.

The original owner of this body did not know the concept of Cursed Energy and always thought he possessed something like "Yin-Yang eyes." Furthermore, he was very timid and only dared to watch from afar, never daring to approach those Cursed Spirits, so he had lived as an ordinary person for all these years.

But Rin was different; he was familiar with the rules of this world and knew that his body had the potential to use Cursed Energy.

Looking up, he saw that everyone was busy taking notes, and no one noticed him.

Rin closed his eyes, sat up straight, and began to sense the Cursed Energy within his body.

As his consciousness delved deeper, a few minutes later, he suddenly discovered that it was completely useless.

Rin did not sense any strange power; this was simply not right!

Logically speaking, since this body could see Cursed Spirits, it must have the talent of a Jujutsu Sorcerer, but why couldn't he do it now?

Right, Rin suddenly thought of something.

According to the setting of jujutsu kaisen, Cursed Energy is generated along with negative emotions. If one wants to trigger Cursed Energy at the beginning, they must immerse themselves in extreme negative emotions to achieve it.

Thinking of this, scenes once again appeared in Rin's mind; these were the memories belonging to the original owner of this body.

The original owner of this body had lived a very miserable life. Having come to a foreign land at a young age with no one to rely on, he had become very withdrawn.

These scenes appearing in his mind were the memories of the original owner being bullied from childhood to adulthood.

These memories played continuously in Rin's mind like a movie. For a moment, he felt as if he were there, having become the target of the bullying.

Those shrill laughs and vicious taunts echoed continuously in his ears, and a surge of anger began to burn in his heart.

As the memories deepened, Rin clearly felt a strange energy, burning inside his body like a candle.

Just as he felt this power and before he could react, it was as if some switch had been flipped.

Surging black and red Cursed Energy erupted from his navel area, began to flow in his chest cavity, and then flowed toward his limbs and head.

Before long, it enveloped his entire person.

Rin felt an endless amount of strength suddenly born within him, and he became incredibly excited. It seemed his hypothesis was correct.

Breaking free from the memories and suppressing the feeling of anger, his previously furrowed brows smoothed out.

But Rin hadn't been happy for long before a sudden change occurred.

In an instant, Rin suddenly felt the Cursed Energy that had been surrounding his body begin to flow continuously toward his eyes.

In the blink of an eye, Rin's originally pitch-black pupils suddenly turned blood-red, and a pair of Sharingan appeared in his eyes, though he himself was completely unaware of it.

After calming down, Rin felt that his vision had suddenly become incredibly clear. The previously blurry handwriting on the blackboard was now clearly visible.

Feeling this strange power, Rin couldn't help but feel secretly delighted. It seemed this was his Innate Cursed Technique.

At this moment, the teacher on the podium could no longer hold back. Watching Rin, who was constantly zoning out below, her expression gradually darkened. Her eyes, which had originally been kind and amiable, now flashed with anger, and the atmosphere in the entire classroom instantly froze.

Whoosh!

Just then, a white afterimage flashed through the air, and a "projectile" flew precisely toward the center of Rin's forehead.

The speed and precision were such that one couldn't react at all.

The students on the side also looked up, waiting to see the show.

But the next second, a surprising scene made everyone present look at each other in confusion.

The chalk that should have hit Rin's head was now tightly caught between two fingers.

Everyone was shocked, including Rin himself.

Teacher Takemi on the podium, as a veteran teacher, had perfected her chalk-throwing stunt to a supernatural level. A normal person couldn't even dodge it, let alone catch it, let alone catch it between two fingers.

Rin was also bewildered at this moment. "What the hell, what's going on?" He recalled the situation just now; the chalk, which had been so swift, had become incredibly clear in his eyes.

His eyes had clearly captured the trajectory of the chalk. Although he hadn't reacted consciously, he had subconsciously reached out and caught the flying chalk.

This action, which seemed like a provocation, completely enraged Teacher Takemi on the podium, and she let out a roar.

She immediately grabbed a handful of chalk.

Before Rin could react, with a few light sounds of "whoosh! whoosh! whoosh!", the chalk flew toward him like arrows released from a bow, piercing through the air.

But Rin did not panic. He sat steadily, controlling his Cursed Energy to gather in his eyes. His eerie Sharingan spun rapidly, capturing the flight trajectory of every single piece of chalk.

But the students seemed not to notice, and they did not detect Rin's blood-red eyes.

At this critical moment.

Rin waved his right hand rapidly, "swish! swish! swish!", creating several afterimages in the air, and in the next second, he caught all the chalk.

"Wow, how did he do that?"

"That's so amazing!"

Seeing this incredible scene, they let out a series of exclamations, and some mischievous students even started clapping.

...

Unlike the other students, Rin turned his gaze toward the teacher with some guilt, and sure enough.

The teacher was very angry. In her decades of teaching, she had never seen such a mischievous student.

Her chest heaved rapidly, her eyes were filled with fury, and she gnashed her teeth.

Seeing the teacher's angry appearance, Rin knew he was in the wrong and felt somewhat awkward, just about to say something.

"Uh... Teacher, I..."

Bang!

With a dull, loud thud, Rin stood outside the classroom, holding a handful of chalk, looking at the heavily closed classroom door with some helplessness.

He leaned against the wall, supporting his chin, recalling the situation that had just happened in the classroom.

He couldn't help but speculate that the ability his eyes had just displayed must be his "Innate Cursed Technique — Insight."

But this kind of ability seemed somewhat familiar; it felt like he had seen it somewhere before.

Suddenly, Rin thought of something. He took out his phone from his pocket, aimed it at his eyes, and activated his Cursed Energy again.

The next second, the tomoe and patterns slowly rotated in the center of his irises. The eerie red light reflected on his face through the screen was exactly the same as the Sharingan from "Naruto" in his memories.

Sure enough, it seemed that the dream from last night was not a coincidence.

Last night, Rin dreamed that he came to a chaotic space, where he saw a towering Ten-Tails God Tree radiating a suffocating sense of oppression, as well as a giant Sharingan suspended in the sky, seemingly staring at him.

"Ten-Tails God Tree... Transmigration... Sharingan..." He unconsciously rubbed the edge of the screen with his fingertips, and the clues in his mind gradually connected. At the time, he had just dismissed it as an absurd dream, but now it seemed that it was the "key" that sent him to the Jujutsu World.

Just as he was contemplating the connection between the Sharingan and Cursed Energy, a strange "humming" suddenly came from outside the teaching building. The sound was not like the wind, but more like some energy field vibrating in the air, carrying a heart-palpitating low-frequency tremor.

Rin looked up abruptly, the tomoe in his pupils instantly accelerated, and the Insight of the Sharingan was activated in an instant.

The originally clear sky was covered by a translucent "film" at some point. The edges of the film radiated faint fluctuations of Cursed Energy, as if the entire campus had been enclosed in a sealed glass dome. The sunlight was completely cut off, the light between heaven and earth dimmed at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the shadows of the teaching building were stretched long, like a lurking beast.

"Curtain..." Rin's heart suddenly sank.

According to the setting of "jujutsu kaisen", a Curtain is a barrier commonly used by Jujutsu High sorcerers when performing missions. Its purpose is to isolate ordinary people from Cursed Spirits to avoid causing social panic. But this Curtain exuded an abnormal chill; it lacked any aura of a Jujutsu High sorcerer's defense, and instead, it felt like a giant net waiting for prey to enter.

He rushed to the window in the corridor of the teaching building, his Sharingan fixed on the direction of the playground.

The next second, the patterns in his pupils suddenly stopped—the air directly above the playground began to distort, and a black vortex spread out like ink dropped into clear water. At the center of the vortex, nauseating Cursed Energy churned; it was filthy energy condensed from pure negative emotions.

"This is not the method of Jujutsu High..." Rin's fingertips felt slightly cold.

He had seen what Cursed Spirits looked like in the original owner's memory fragments, but he had never seen such a bizarre "Cursed Spirit channel." The vortex spun faster and faster, the surrounding air seemed to be drained, and even the glass of the distant classrooms began to hum.

Immediately after, pale claws reached out from the vortex. When the first Cursed Spirit crawled out, it let out a painful wail. Its body was twisted like a melted block of wax, its limbs were disproportionately thin and long, and it had several rotten heads on top of its head.

More and more Cursed Spirits poured out of the vortex. Some looked like swollen tumors with pus-filled holes on their surfaces; others were like skinless beasts with exposed muscle fibers. In just half a minute, hundreds of Cursed Spirits had gathered on the playground. The Cursed Energy they emitted intertwined, forming a gray mist in the air.

Rin's Sharingan automatically captured the flow of Cursed Energy of each Cursed Spirit, and he soon concluded: "Most are Grade 3 or 4 Cursed Spirits... Although there are many of them, their individual strength is not strong."

As the black vortex in the sky suddenly closed, it was as if someone had pressed the "start button." The Cursed Spirits instantly became restless; they let out shrill roars and rushed toward the students on all fours.

The chaos on the playground erupted completely. The students' cries, the roars of the Cursed Spirits, and the crisp sound of bones breaking intertwined to form a symphony of despair. The originally vibrant playground turned into a living hell in just a few minutes—the lawn was dyed dark red with blood, and severed limbs were scattered in every corner.

Rin watched everything happening before him in shock, his eyes full of astonishment. It took a long while before he squeezed a few words through his teeth.

"This is, Cursed Spirit Manipulation..."
