Seraphina barely remembered falling asleep. The night had been long, filled with restless thoughts and the lingering weight of everything she had agreed to. Dating Damon De Luca. Even thinking about it made her chest tighten.
Fake. It was fake.
She reminded herself of that as she slipped her books into her bag, her fingers moving slower than usual. Nothing about this felt normal. Nothing about him was normal.
Behind her, Emily hummed softly, zipping her bag like it was just another ordinary day.
"Are you ready?" Emily asked, glancing over her shoulder.
Seraphina nodded. "Yeah… let's go."
Her voice sounded distant, even to her own.
"You can go, I don't have any class till 11, Jerry is picking me up for breakfast " Emily replied, grinning.
" Okay, see ya", Seraphina replied and reached for the door.
The moment she opened it—Her breath caught.
Damon was standing there, like the hallway belonged to him.
