Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

The soldier that had managed to get the congressman into the jeep quickly turned it around and brought it to the captain.

" Sir! Get in!" He shouted, pushing the door open. At the same time, the hostiles rained bullets on the vehicle, fortunately it was able to endure them for the time being.

The captain endured the pain he felt and quickly got in, then the soldier maneuvered the vehicle and drove off.

" Sir! Are you alright?" The soldier glanced at his captain in the passengers front seat.

" Don't worry about me and drive, this darn thing is nothing but a flesh wound." He joked.

The soldier nodded and continued to drive.

They drove far away from the enemy encampment and closed in on the extraction point.

PAPAPAPA!

But it seemed the devil had taken a liking to them, because right behind them in the distant sky, a hostile chopper emerged.

" Hostile chopper inbound! Step on it cadet!" The captain yelled, his face filled with panic.

" I'm on it sir!" Said the shoulder, who stepped down hard on the accelerator.

As the car speed forth, the captain struggled to get in the back of the vehicle where the congressman was.

The man's eyes were barely open, his face looking weak, showing just how dire his situation was.

" Keep driving, I'll see if I can stabilise the congressman." Said the captain. He took of his tactical vest and then tore at his uniform underneath, using that piece of cloth to try and hinder the man's bleeding.

This was an enemy vehicle so there was no first aid kit in sight, this was the best he could do.

BRRRRRRR!!!!!

The sound of rapid fire was suddenly heard from above as the chopper chasing after them began to release a torrent of bullets their way.

" Sir it's gaining!!!" The soldier blurted out in fear, his face distressed.

The desert floor became a plum of rising dust as the torrent of bullets continued to get closer and closer towards the jeep.

" Damnit, can't this rust bucket go any faster?!" The captain said in frustration yet he knew the truth of it, their fates had already been sealed the moment the enemy decided to pursue them with a chopper.

The hostile target flying the chopper had a face filled with smiles as he controlled the choppers shooter to continue to aim towards the fleeing jeep.

The bullets continued to grow closer and closer and closer until.

BOOM!!!

An explosion was heard.

Both soldier and captains minds trembled in disbelief as they watched the chobber being blown out of the sky by a rocket.

Following the smoke trail of the rocket, they saw in the far distance, a figure next to a motorcycle with a rocket launcher in hand.

The figure after blasting the chopper clean out of the sky, smiled smugly.

Both captain and soldier didn't know what to say, to think they'd been saved once again.

The soldiers continued to flee nevertheless, leaving behind the burning mess of the chopper and the Merc behind.

Takahashi, or as he preferred to use his code name, Mahoraga, began packing up his gear onto his motorcycle.

But just as he finished, though barely visible, his sharp eyes noticed several tactical vehicles in the far distance closing in from behind the large plum of smoke from the wreckage.

" Don't these guys ever give up...You kill one, more swarm in like annoying mosquitos."

" Sigh... This is why I hate taking jobs in the north." The figure, who was in fact, Asian, had a tactical balaclava over his head, designed with a realistic skull face.

He let out a tired sigh before getting atop his motorcycle and zooming off.

The jeeps after passing the smoke, continued to give chase.

They chased him for several miles but could never breach the gap.

Takahashi knew that if this continued, he would be in a difficult situation and would have to find cover.

But just then, he noticed a chopper up ahead. On getting a closer look with his binoculars, he noticed that at the open door hatch of the large chopper was the soldier captain he had saved, the man also seemed to notice him to, waving towards him to head their way.

Takahashi wasn't one to refuse in such a situation, so he did.

The helicopter had already dropped down a rope ladder. All he needed was to get close enough and grab it.

The hostile forces behind seemed to have grasped this as well and pushed all their vehicles into full throttle.

Fearing that there wouldn't be enough time, he drove his motorcycle towards a large dune.

Using it as a make shift ramp, his motorcycle shot off the natural ramp and into the air, closing the distance between him and the ladder.

With victory assured, Takahashi turned around and flashed a middle finger at the encroaching hostiles before turning forward. But on doing so, his pupils bulged in disbelief when something similar to a portal, emerged between him and the ladder.

Whether it were the soldiers, hostiles or Takahashi himself, they were all stupified by the strange phenomenon.

Takahashi who was already under the effects of inertia, couldn't resist at all, jumping off his bike now was hopeless due to the sheer size of the portal.

In the end, he could do nothing but shot right through it. The moment he did, the portal vanished into thin air.

Leaving both soldier and hostiles even more stunned than they already were.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the gate, Takahashi along with his equipment and motorcycle, shot out from the gate.

Upon seeing snow all around him, Takahashi grabbed a hold of his breaks, causing the bike to kick up some snow as he drifted it to a stop.

The moment it came to a stop, he casually got of his bike, his eyes glancing about in disbelief, taking several steps forward before stopping completely in even more disbelief when he saw a huge figure fly across the sky up above.

It wasn't a creature per say, but a flying ship?!

" What the fuck just happened and where on earth are my." He blurted out, his mind thoroughly shaken.
