The morning light was weak and purple. The camp was ready.
Kai stood at the front gate with Lira on his left and Mira on his right. Elder Voss and the other breakers stood behind them. Everyone looked tense but determined.
In the distance, the large group of Echo Hunters marched closer. There were more than fifty now. Some rode strange mutated beasts. Others carried weapons that glowed with stolen Echo power. The scarred leader from before was at the front, smiling confidently.
The leader stopped just outside arrow range and shouted loudly.
"Echo Thief! We know what you did. You fought gods and survived. That power belongs to the strong. Hand yourself over and we will spare your little friends. Resist and we will take everything by force."
Mira made a face and whispered, "As if we would believe him."
Kai stepped forward and answered in a calm, clear voice.
"I am not handing myself over. This power is mine now. Turn around and leave. No one needs to die today."
The scarred leader laughed.
"Still playing hero? We saw the shadows you controlled. We saw the god energy. You are wasted here with these weak breakers. Join us and we will rule the new world after the big Quake."
He raised his hand and the hunters charged.
Beasts roared ,weapons glowed and the ground shook with their footsteps.
Mira grinned and started throwing cards immediately.
"Time to test the full collection! Shadow Chain Card! Fire Burst Card! Slow Down Card!"
Her cards exploded in front of the charging hunters. Chains wrapped around legs, fire burned armor, and some hunters suddenly moved much slower.
Lira sent her silver threads flying like whips. They tied up several hunters and pulled them to the ground.
"Kai, the leader is the strongest. Focus on him!"
Kai nodded.
He used shadow step mixed with wind dash and appeared in the middle of the fight.
His fist, strengthened by stone skin and rage punch, hit the first hunter and sent him flying.
The voices helped him without taking control.
Reginald gave smooth dodging.
Jax gave powerful hits.
Shadow helped him disappear and surprise enemies.
For the first time, Kai felt like he was truly in charge.He moved through the hunters like a ghost, knocking them down one by one.
The scarred leader saw him and charged with his glowing black spear. "You are mine, boy!"
Kai blocked the spear with his arm. The impact hurt, but he did not fall.
He punched back hard. The leader staggered but laughed."Not bad! But I have collected many Echoes too!"
The leader activated his own power. His body grew larger and his spear glowed brighter.
Kai and the leader clashed in the middle of the battlefield.
Every hit shook the ground.
Mira kept supporting from the back, throwing card after card.
"Keep going, Kai! I am making new ones from their smoke!"
Lira protected the gate and healed small wounds on Kai whenever he got close.
The fight was intense.
Hunters fell left and right, but the leader was strong. He had clearly stolen many powerful Echoes over time.
Kai started to feel tired. The god fragments inside him stirred a little, but he pushed them down.
"I do not need you," he whispered to them. "I can do this myself."
He mixed three Echoes on purpose. The shadow step , wind dash and stone skin.
He became a fast, hard shadow and appeared behind the leader.
His punch landed perfectly on the man's back.
The leader flew forward and crashed into the ground. He stood up slowly, breathing hard.
"You have improved. But this is not over."
He raised his spear for one final powerful attack.
At that moment, Mira threw her strongest card yet. "Kai's Real Will Card!"
The card exploded with a bright light that carried Kai's determination from the ritual.
The light hit the leader and made him hesitate for one second.
Kai used that moment.
He dashed in and delivered a clean, powerful punch straight to the leader's chest.
The scarred man dropped his spear and fell to his knees.
The remaining hunters saw their leader defeated and started to retreat.
Kai stood over the fallen leader and spoke calmly.
"Go back. Tell your people the Echo Thief is not for sale. If you come again, we will be ready."
The leader looked up with hate in his eyes.
"This is not the end, boy. The big Quake is coming. When it does, the world will change. And we will come for you."
He stood up with help from his men and retreated into the forest with the surviving hunters. The camp cheered.
Mira jumped up and down.
"We won! And I got so many new cards today!"
Lira walked to Kai and checked his wounds.
"You controlled everything perfectly. No voice takeover. I am proud of you."
Kai smiled, but there was a small worry in his eyes.
"They will come back stronger. And the big Quake is getting closer. I can feel it."
Elder Voss joined them.
"You protected the camp again. Rest now. We will talk about the future tomorrow."
That night, as they sat by the fire, Kai looked at the cracked sky. The small god fragments inside him were still quiet. He knew the peace would not last forever.
The big Quake was coming and other gods were still watching and the hunters would return.
But for tonight, he was still himself.
He looked at Lira and Mira and felt grateful.
"I am ready for whatever comes next," he said quietly. "As long as we are together."
