Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Female Assassin's Tenderness

Inside the room, An Suling looked around for a while, then turned to Alex and said, "I will be leaving soon."

Alex was still wondering what she was going to say to him; hearing her say this now, he couldn't help but be stunned.

The "leaving" An Suling spoke of probably didn't mean leaving his room, but leaving this place, leaving Freya's side, and for a long time.

"Why?"

He asked subconsciously, his brow furrowing. An Suling's departure definitely did not serve his interests. After he had saved her, her attitude toward him had clearly become much gentler. If she left, the mysterious organization would not give up on Freya. Either Freya would have to leave with her, or they would send a new member.

And both of these were outcomes Alex did not want to accept.

Seeing him frown as soon as she mentioned leaving, An Suling, not knowing what he was thinking, looked at him with much gentler eyes and said softly, "There is a mole in my organization, and my identity has been exposed. Continuing to stay by Feiyan's side will send a message to the enemy—that Feiyan is the person they are looking for. Therefore, I cannot stay."

Alex didn't know about the mole incident. Hearing her say this, he realized that An Suling had to leave. However, the mysterious organization didn't seem to intend to take Freya away, which was good news.

"During the time I am away, I hope you will protect Feiyan well. At the same time, do not get involved with her. If you still care about her, this is my advice to you."

An Suling said to Alex earnestly, as if entrusting Freya to him, but her advice not to get together with Freya left Alex very confused.

He didn't ask for the specific reason because he felt he wouldn't get an answer. He noncommittally said, "I will watch over her."

An Suling nodded. She looked at Alex, hesitated for a moment, and suddenly said, "Can I hug you?"

Alex was quite surprised. It wasn't the request that surprised him, but her attitude. To make such a slightly ambiguous request to a boy while remaining expressionless—was she a stone-faced person?

"Why?" Alex asked.

An Suling's gaze toward him softened: "You are the prince granted to me by heaven, who kissed me awake from death. I haven't had a chance to carefully experience your embrace. Before I leave, I want to hug you."

Alex shivered. Saying such ambiguous words with a straight face, this cold-faced assassin had suddenly become tender and affectionate. He didn't find it interesting at all; instead, he felt a wave of discomfort.

Moreover, An Suling seemed to have misunderstood something, viewing him as the most important person granted to her by heaven.

Alex understood this point. Under the influence of the wish crystal ball, in that fleeting moment, he had obtained great power, fulfilled the wish of the dying and unconscious An Suling, and kissed her awake from her slumber, which was equivalent to saving her life.

Such romance was too overwhelming; no woman could resist it. Even an iron tree would bloom, and An Suling was no exception. In her eyes, Alex was the Prince Charming bestowed upon her by the heavens, the person closest to her.

Because he couldn't explain the existence of the Wish Crystal Ball, Alex had no choice but to tacitly accept An Suling's misunderstanding.

Instinctively, he felt that An Suling would be a huge trouble. If an assassin caught feelings, would she allow her man to dally with other women?

Yet, Alex could not avoid this. The treasure chests were his foundation. To keep opening them, he needed to interact with various girls and fulfill their wishes. He just hoped An Suling wouldn't turn into a yandere.

Just as he was about to refuse this absurd request, Alex saw the helpless look in An Suling's eyes, like an abandoned little beast wanting to return to its master's embrace. This reminded Alex of the moment she had been on the verge of death, and he couldn't bring himself to be hard-hearted.

He thought to himself, regardless, An Suling was leaving anyway, and perhaps they wouldn't have a chance to meet again in the future, so satisfying this obsession of hers wouldn't be a big deal.

Thus, under An Suling's expectant gaze, he nodded.

The female assassin's lips twitched. She stepped forward to stand in front of Alex, looked at his face expressionlessly, and then slowly leaned in, gently hugging him.

At first, it was very soft, but then the embrace became forceful. She held Alex tightly, so much so that Alex felt she wanted to merge herself into his body.

Alex was a bit nervous, mainly fearing that this female assassin might suddenly attack him. He hadn't completely let his guard down against her, and his skills were ready at any moment.

After a while, Alex placed his hands on the arms An Suling had wrapped around his waist and gave a slight jolt, causing her hands to release him.

Alex took two steps back: "Alright, Feiyan should be awake. If you don't want her to misunderstand, you should leave my room as soon as possible."

"Feiyan to misunderstand?" An Suling paused, suddenly lost in thought.

Alex frowned: "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing." An Suling shook her head, looked at him deeply, and said: "I'll go out first. I'll be leaving this city in a few days, and I'll come to see you when I have time."

Alex really wanted to say that there was no need for her to come, but An Suling had already swiftly left his room, leaving him no chance to speak.

Before long, he heard the voices of two women coming from outside. Freya had just woken up and was still groggy; she walked out of her room looking for Alex, but upon suddenly seeing An Suling outside, she was startled into wakefulness and was now nervously chatting with An Suling, feeling guilty.

Alex shook his head, ignored them, and sat down in front of the computer to turn it on. legend of fengyun hualong hadn't been updated yesterday, so he intended to make up for it.

"Huh? It's actually reached a reading index of one hundred thousand?"

Seeing the notification flashing on the computer screen, Alex was surprised. Two days ago, the index had just broken ten thousand, and waking up this morning, it had actually broken one hundred thousand; this speed was shockingly fast.

The forum's daily active traffic was estimated to be only a few hundred thousand, so a reading index of one hundred thousand was not low; it meant that a significant portion of them had read his book.

Alex couldn't wait to open the webpage and discovered that his post had become a hot topic, appearing on the homepage. The decent writing style, the risqué descriptions, and the "Dragon Overlord" style protagonist brought a series of incredibly satisfying reading experiences, making his post increasingly popular and the number of readers rapidly surpassing one hundred thousand.

Alex had discovered earlier that the risqué descriptions in the "Liu Bei" literature of this world were not bad. The reason they didn't feel as good to Alex as those from his previous life was because the development of web novels in this world was still quite backward, and most plots focused on tormenting the protagonist.

Various plots involving cuckoldry and dead heroines seemed to be written as if the authors would lose their parents if they didn't include them. Consequently, the "Liu Bei" literature followed a similar rhythm.

Of course, there was another important reason: long-form serialized "Liu Bei" novels rarely appeared in this world, and even when they did, few were of high quality. Alex had set a precedent, and legend of fengyun hualong could be considered to have reaped the market's dividends.
