My daily routine as a baby for the past few months has been sleeping, bottle feeding from my maids, and shitting. It was an even more boring experience than I had anticipated, but it got worse.
A couple of days after I was born, my vision fully cleared up, most likely thanks to my heavenly restriction. I woke up from a nap in my crib, and in front of me, staring down intently, was a slim elderly man with slicked black hair tied into a long ponytail and black eyes with unusually large pupils.
It was Ogi Zenin, the bastard father of Maki and Mai.
'Are you kidding me? Don't tell me this son of a bitch is my dad.'
I already half expected to be born into the Zenin clan. After all, two of the three heavenly restriction users came from there. But being the potential sibling to Maki, out of all people, felt like someone pulling the strings.
Ogi suddenly started slowly waving his index finger back and forth. I followed it with my eyes in confusion. Then my mother walked into the room and opened the sliding panel. He quickly turned around and walked up to her before stopping in front of her.
"The child can already see clearly. When he turns three, you are going to hire a sword practitioner from our clan to teach him the way of the katana. I don't care who you pick as long as they're decent. Once he turns four, I will start teaching him. Make sure by then that he's not even more of an embarrassment than he already is." Ogi demanded.
'Damn, I can't understand shit.' Mamoru thought.
Miyu nodded before bowing deeply, but as soon as Ogi left, her expression changed from a gentle smile to an angry scowl.
"Hmph, ordering me around like I'm some type of peasant. You're lucky to be related to Naobito, or I wouldn't have even glanced your way." She mumbled under her breath.
She walked up to Mamoru's crib and picked him up, staring at him with a complicated expression somewhere between disappointment and happiness.
"Become strong, Mamoru. If you do, Mommy won't regret giving birth to you." She smiled.
'I don't know what she said, but it was probably fucked up.' Mamoru thought.
She then surprisingly gave a small peck on Mamoru's forehead before putting him back in his crib and walking out. That was the first sign of affection Miyu had ever shown him.
'Was I wrong? Maybe she didn't say something bad after all.' Mamoru thought.
As I lay in my crib, I thought about the shit that's been happening recently, from my death to now being a baby again in an anime world. It all felt unreal. Seeing these characters that I watched on TV in real life was a strange feeling. I almost didn't want to believe it, but no, it's definitely real.
After a couple of minutes, I felt drowsy and fell asleep.
One year later, Maki and Mai were born.
I stared at the two twins in different cribs across the room in curiosity. Ogi and my mother had been showing up significantly less than before. Compared to before, when I would see her at least five times a week and Ogi twice a week, now she only shows up once a week, and I haven't seen Ogi in months.
'Is it because she gave birth to twins?'
Twins in a sorcerer society are seen as a mistake and a bad omen. Maybe Ogi and my mom saw us as some type of curse and wanted to distance themselves from us.
I didn't know, and I couldn't care less. I held no attachment to them and never would.
Instead of my parents taking care of me, it was various maids whose names I didn't know. They didn't baby-talk to me, Maki, or Mai. They simply did their jobs like robots.
I didn't mind.
As I grew older, I naturally grew stronger. By the time I was two, I could do a handstand and lift my crib with both hands with minor difficulty.
Despite my improved mobility, I still wasn't allowed to explore the compound. Every time I tried to leave my room, the maids would put me right back in my crib.
It was honestly annoying, and I wanted to punch them in the face, but they were just doing their jobs.
"Bubba!"
I looked down from my crib to see Maki sitting on the ground, reaching out to me with her tiny hands while Mai was in her crib, sleeping. All the maids were also out of the room since it was late at night.
'Aw, how adorable.'
I climbed over my crib and dropped down, landing with a small thud, which startled Maki slightly. I gently grabbed her cheeks, making her laugh and smile.
"Cute," I said in English.
Being superhuman also came with the perk of my muscles developing much faster than normal. Using my memory of learning the English language, I was able to speak fluently at the age of one.
I honestly hit the jackpot getting heavenly restriction. Even if I were a lazy bum and didn't train, I would still be at least the bottom level of a Grade One sorcerer.
But I'm still going to train like there's no tomorrow.
It made my blood boil with excitement at the prospect of growing stronger day by day. Being reincarnated into the Zenin clan was actually better than just being born normally. Haki improves much faster in fighting than in training.
There was no point trying to learn haki now or anytime soon. Without a mentor like Silver Rayleigh, it was pointless. All I knew for sure was that it had something to do with your willpower.
I would just have to wait until it awakened naturally.
I wonder if armament haki could negate Infinity, similar to how it can negate logias.
A funny image came to mind of Gojo's stupefied expression as I casually bypassed Infinity, which made me chuckle.
"Bubba, Bubbah!"
I was brought out of my thoughts by Maki. She was now trying to climb my crib.
'What the hell?'
I walked up to her and gently pulled her back down despite her struggles to break free from my grasp. It was useless. She couldn't stand up to the genetic phenom that was Mamoru Zenin.
But unfortunately for me, she started crying.
"Oh no, anything but that."
I quickly covered my ears, but the crying was still too loud. Because of my enhanced hearing, it felt like hearing two babies crying at the same time.
'How the fuck do you stop a baby from crying?'
Before I could come up with a plan, two maids instantly barged into the room. One of them picked up Maki and gently swayed her until she calmed down and stopped crying. The other picked me up and placed me back into my crib.
'Good job, nameless lady.' Mamoru thought.
"Do you think he caused Maki to cry?" the maid Rin asked the other maid, Himari.
"Who? Mamoru? Most likely. Maki doesn't cry much unless she poops her pants." Himari replied while checking Maki's diaper, but luckily, there was nothing there.
"How did Maki even get out of her crib in the first place?" Rin asked.
"Now that you mention it, that is kind of weird," Himari said.
"Do you think she's like Mamoru? Cursed with a heavenly restriction."
Himari's eyes widened in shock.
"S-She can't be. If another one of Master Ogi and Miyu's offspring is born without a cursed technique, h-he'll take out his anger on us... or worse, k-kill us."
Any maid's life was worth the equivalent of a penny. Utterly expendable. Many of them were forced into this position due to weak family backgrounds, low cursed energy, and no cursed techniques. Unlike their male counterparts, they couldn't join the Kukuru Unit.
Rin sighed before covering her face with her hands.
"We can only hope, Himari. We can only hope."
Another year passed, and I was standing in an empty courtyard. My mom, whom I now knew as Miyu, had led me here to meet my sword teacher.
I was now able to speak Japanese and understand it somewhat after picking it up from the maids and being taught by a private instructor alongside Maki and Mai.
Speaking of the twins, they sat on the wooden steps across from the courtyard with Miyu.
They all wore traditional Japanese clothing, and I was dressed in a formal black kimono.
After looking at myself in the mirror one day, I realized I looked oddly similar to a very young version of Yami Sukehiro from Black Clover.
I had grey eyes and black hair of medium length that was messily combed backward, making it stick outward.
"Mamoru Zenin," a deep voice called out.
I glanced to the side.
Walking down the wooden steps was a tall man with straight black hair styled in an undercut.
He had intimidating dark brown eyes, deep dark circles, and a scowl on his face. In his right hand were two wooden swords shaped like katanas.
He threw one at me, and I caught it easily.
The sword was normal-sized, so it looked quite goofy in the hands of a three-year-old.
"I am your instructor, Taiga Zenin. But you are to only refer to me as Master. Do I make myself clear, child of Ogi Zenin?"
"Yes, Master."
"Hold your bokken upright. We will begin immediately."
I held my bokken upright, and Taiga stepped back a couple of feet away from me, getting into a stance.
'Wait, are we about to fight? I don't even know how to swing a sword.'
A small grin crept onto my face.
'This sounds fun.'
I aimed my bokken at Taiga.
