GA: Chapter 197 – The Heaven-Based Version of Blade No. 7; Angel Yan Gets Her Heart Stabbed

"Tsk—you haven't seen the photo on the data terminal, have you?"

"It came out pretty well."

"Though—did you forget just how mischievous the Heaven-Based King is? Taking it in Bai Xuan's world was one thing, but she actually brought it back to angel civilization."

"It's already been exposed by the Heaven-Based King."

Angel Yan raised an eyebrow at Yan's expression, then projected a photo into the air. The moment Yan saw it, her face flushed crimson—eyes filled with flustered embarrassment.

She couldn't believe the master had actually dug that up.

No—she should have seen it coming. Knowing the master's playful nature, she would absolutely have done a full inspection from inside out.

The master—such a troublemaker. Viewing it herself was one thing, but uploading it to the database meant every sister could see it too.

Awful!

She should have deleted it when she had the chance.

Yan fumed inwardly—but when her eyes drifted back to the projection hanging in the air, she involuntarily lowered her gaze, a reluctance surfacing in her heart that she couldn't quite push away.

In the projection, Bai Xuan had no idea he was being photographed. He was lounging lazily against Snorlax's soft belly, a book open in his hands. That refined face paired with his naturally quiet presence—it almost perfectly embodied every fantasy an angel might have about an ideal man.

No one knew how long Yan had stood there watching that scene when it happened.

"They're all envious of you for finding a man like that. If he weren't in another world, there might actually be angels coming to compete with you."

Angel Yan teased lightly, then closed the projection.

"Take good care of it, little Yan."

In the eyes of angels, Bai Xuan's potential was among the highest in the chat group.

Both his talent and his character were destined to lead to something magnificent.

Joining the chat group all but guaranteed becoming powerful—even reaching the apex of all worlds—but there was still a gap among group members, expressed in how much time each would need to get there.

Even with all of angel civilization's support, she couldn't guarantee she would surpass everyone else.

Setting aside that ridiculous Shiba Inu from a gag anime—whether it was Bai Xuan, Aizen, Luo Hao, Heavenly Path General, Uchiha Madara, or Marquis Voban—she didn't feel confident she was stronger than any of them.

They possessed every quality of a god's mind. Nothing could shake them. They were born to become powerhouses, regardless of what world they had been placed in.

"Little Yan—having spent so much time with Bai Xuan, how do you see the future of Earth's civilization?"

"And of course, I mean his Earth—not ours."

Angel Yan's voice was gentle.

"White Emperor's civilization is technologically weak right now, and is still in the middle of its trial period—but I believe that under his guidance, it will become a civilization no weaker than angel civilization."

Yan said it with full conviction.

Though Bai Xuan had spent much of their shared time simply reading in the small world, talking with her, or playing with Pokémon—he had never once lost his focus on Earth's civilization. Its future had always been something he was steering.

Because she had read that book. That mysterious object called the [Chronicle of Ages], which recorded this world's past, future, and every action Bai Xuan would take throughout it.

Having seen that world's future, her confidence in the Earth civilization Bai Xuan was guiding was absolute.

"Though White Emperor only let me look for a little while."

Something occurred to her and Yan pursed her lips, looking put-out.

"Only a little while? What are you talking about?"

Angel Yan looked at her with curiosity.

"I can't say without White Emperor's permission."

Yan shook her head. He had shown it to her as an act of trust. Even if it had only been for a short time, keeping it confidential was still the right thing to do.

"Not even me?"

A slight twitch crossed the corner of Angel Yan's mouth.

"Not even you, Yan."

Yan gave a sincere, definitive nod.

"You haven't even left yet and you're already this devoted—I genuinely worry that after you're married you'd just hand over all of angel civilization's technology to him."

Angel Yan rolled her eyes, tone exasperated.

Yan's face went pink and she replied quietly, head dipped:

"The master said that if White Emperor wanted it, it could be given."

"And the master has already started building me a new Heaven-Based warship. She's using Blade No. 7 as the reference standard."

"The combat effectiveness should be a tiny bit stronger than Blade No. 7."

"…"

Angel Yan was briefly at a loss.

A Heaven-Based warship built to Blade No. 7's standard?

Should she say something about how extraordinarily generous that was?

The Blade-class warships were angel civilization's primary battle vessels—weapons deployed only in nebula-scale warfare. Every single one represented the civilization's deepest reserves of power.

And Blade No. 7 was the pinnacle of the entire Blade class. The Heaven-Based King was just going to hand one over?

No—something slightly stronger than one.

I'm supposed to be the next Angel Queen. How is this the first I'm hearing of this?

Well. These two—master and apprentice—were both absolutely consumed by their feelings.

Angel Yan shook her head, speechless. Even if she found someone she liked in the future, she'd never be able to match these two for sheer generosity.

"So—when are you planning to make your move on Bai Xuan? After this Heaven-Based version of Blade No. 7 is finished?"

She rubbed her head, the corner of her mouth twitching slightly.

"White Emperor is always thinking about civilization matters. When he talks with me, it's always about civilizational topics. And when he's resting, he plays with Pokémon."

"And you? In the time when he isn't discussing civilization with you, what are you doing?"

"Playing with the Pikachus."

Yan said it a little sheepishly. But Pokémon were really too adorable—she couldn't help it.

There was one more thing she didn't say: it was precisely through playing with the Pokémon that she had gradually drawn closer to White Emperor—and pulled him into joining in alongside her.

Angel Yan couldn't help a small, amused laugh at that.

Though thinking about it—Yan was barely five hundred years old, and had spent almost all of that time in research. She definitely had no experience in this area.

This was the moment for a senior to offer some good-natured teasing. Or—well, proper guidance.

"Yan, bring out your charm as an angel."

"Bai Xuan has never been in a relationship. All it would take is a little bit of flirtation, let him experience just how wonderful angels can be… do I need to teach you?"

In the past, any mention of this would have had Yan flushing red. But this time, Yan simply pressed her lips together and delivered a blow straight to the heart:

"No thanks."

"You don't have a special someone either, Yan. You have zero experience."

"To put it in White Emperor's world's terms: a complete singleton giving confident love advice as though they've been around the block."

"If you want to teach me, go find yourself someone first and show him how wonderful angels can be."

"Then come back and talk."
