Fred and George genuinely felt that today had become increasingly bizarre.
First Lacey.
Now Malfoy.
Everything about their behaviour radiated strange energy.
Draco Malfoy—the notorious little Slytherin troublemaker—actually wanted to buy things from them?
That level of absurdity was practically comparable to witnessing Snape sprint naked across the Quidditch pitch.
Still…
Since Malfoy had just helped them resolve the situation with Lacey, it wasn't unreasonable to return the favour slightly.
Besides, the fact that even Malfoy couldn't resist purchasing their prank items filled both twins with immense pride.
Clearly their products had become legendary.
Malfoy quickly stuffed the prank items into his robes before casually speaking again.
"Your joke products are actually rather impressive," he admitted arrogantly.
Then he pretended to hesitate slightly.
"By the way… I heard you two have also been selling some strange gold cards lately."
His tone became deliberately casual.
"The kind girls keep talking about."
Fred and George narrowed their eyes immediately.
Malfoy continued pretending indifference.
"I'm somewhat curious, that's all. Perhaps you could show me one."
Then he sniffed dismissively.
"If it catches my interest, I might buy one on impulse."
The disguise attempt was painfully obvious.
Clearly, Malfoy purchased prank items first specifically to conceal his true intentions.
After all, directly walking up and asking for Logan's gold cards immediately after Lacey's suspicious behaviour would've looked extremely questionable.
So Malfoy attempted a more "subtle" approach.
First, buy some harmless joke products.
Then casually mention the cards.
Then pretend mild curiosity.
Surely this would make him appear less suspicious.
Unfortunately, even ghosts could probably see through the act.
"Why is it another gold card?" Fred muttered weakly.
George looked moments away from emotional collapse.
"First Lacey," he sighed dramatically, "and now even Malfoy."
The twins stared at him suspiciously.
"Did the two of you secretly coordinate this together?"
"One acts as the villain, the other acts friendly?"
Fred folded his arms.
"Do we look stupid to you?"
Just as George prepared refusing him outright—
Malfoy suddenly interrupted with a proud expression.
"Fine," he declared dramatically. "I'll stop pretending."
He raised his chin arrogantly.
"My true purpose really is buying one of Logan's gold cards."
Then he immediately added seriously—
"But unlike Lacey, I'm not hiding ulterior motives."
"I genuinely want one."
Fred and George exchanged another glance.
Surprisingly…
Malfoy actually sounded sincere.
Neither twin detected obvious dishonesty from his expression.
Maybe he truly did simply want a card and accidentally encountered Lacey during the process.
After several moments of consideration, George finally spoke again.
"We can sell you one."
Malfoy's eyes instantly brightened.
"But first," Fred interrupted, "you need to give us a proper reason."
George nodded firmly.
"You're still a Slytherin."
"And your influence among first-years is practically equal to Lacey's."
Fred crossed his arms.
"More importantly, our families hate each other."
"If your explanation doesn't satisfy us, then we refuse the deal."
Malfoy immediately stiffened.
A reason…
Right.
That part was slightly difficult.
How exactly was he supposed to explain this without sounding insane?
"Well?" George asked suspiciously.
"What is it?" Fred added.
Malfoy's face gradually turned red.
After hesitating painfully for several seconds, he finally forced the words out.
"I…"
His voice became smaller.
"I just want to become Logan's friend."
Fred blinked.
George blinked.
Then Malfoy added awkwardly—
"And… I admire him slightly."
Silence.
Complete silence.
Fred and George genuinely looked shocked now.
A pure-blood Slytherin openly admitting admiration towards a Muggle-born Gryffindor wizard?
The world truly was ending today.
Malfoy immediately grew irritated seeing their reactions.
"What's so strange about it?!" he snapped defensively.
"Yes, pure-bloods are naturally noble. I absolutely believe that."
Then his expression changed slightly.
"But Logan is different from ordinary Muggle-borns!"
His silver eyes burned intensely.
"He's handsome, intelligent, elegant, powerful—he doesn't feel like a normal Muggle-born wizard at all."
Malfoy's voice became increasingly emotional.
"The moment I first saw him, I knew I had to become his friend."
"And I mean that sincerely."
Then he proudly lifted his chin.
"Besides, I'm still a proud pure-blood wizard."
"I look down on every Muggle-born except Logan Anderson."
After hearing this explanation, Fred and George slowly revealed deeply twisted smiles.
Apparently, they had just discovered something absolutely hilarious.
"Oh, wanting to be Logan's friend isn't really our business," Fred said innocently.
George nodded.
"We can sell you a gold card."
Then both twins grinned simultaneously.
"But before the transaction…"
"You need to call us 'senior.'"
Malfoy froze completely.
What?
These two Weasley idiots actually wanted him—
Draco Malfoy—
To call them senior?!
An icy chill instantly travelled down his spine.
Even standing under broad daylight, he suddenly felt overwhelming malice surrounding him.
Malfoy pointed at the twins with trembling fingers.
"You… you've gone too far!"
Fred tilted his head.
"Oh?"
George smiled pleasantly.
"Oh?"
Then both spoke together again.
"If you refuse, then we simply won't sell you the card."
"Wait!"
Malfoy panicked immediately.
Things had already reached this stage.
The gold card stood right before him.
Victory was practically within reach.
There was absolutely no way he could retreat now.
Several agonising seconds later, Malfoy's face flushed crimson as he forced the humiliating words through gritted teeth.
"Greetings…"
His voice shook slightly.
"My two seniors."
Silence followed.
Then—
Fred and George simultaneously inhaled deeply.
Wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful.
For the first time in their lives, hearing Draco Malfoy respectfully call them "senior" felt unbelievably refreshing.
Malfoy quickly interrupted their silent celebration before they could enjoy it too much.
"I already said it," he snapped awkwardly. "Now sell me the cards."
A few moments later, the twins explained their official sales policy.
Every customer could only purchase one gold card.
No exceptions.
After hearing that, Malfoy nearly cursed them to death internally.
Unfortunately, the twins controlled the monopoly.
Which meant he had no choice but to endure.
"Fine," Malfoy said through clenched teeth. "Then give me the best one."
"The rarest."
"The most prestigious."
"And the most expensive."
Fred and George immediately nodded proudly.
"You've come to the right place."
George slowly reached into the box strapped behind him.
"We originally intended saving this card as the grand finale of the entire series."
Fred's expression became solemn.
"Our ultimate masterpiece."
Then George carefully pulled out a dazzling golden card glowing brilliantly beneath the sunlight.
"We proudly present…"
"The No. Series Epic Gold Card."
Malfoy stared blankly.
The card still looked exactly like a normal gold card.
Why had the title suddenly changed from Dream Gold Card to Epic Gold Card?
And what nonsense was this about an "ultimate masterpiece"?
Did these two seriously think Draco Malfoy was easy to scam?
