"Hey big bro, you don't have school right?" Mari shouted from downstairs. "Yes and?" Ishihara answered. "Can we please do it?" Mari shouted. Mari hears no response, but a scrambling of someone putting their stuff away. She goes to the stairs and sees Ishihara running down and trips on the last step. Mari moves out of the way and Ishihara lands on his face. "Are you okay!" Mari questioned, going to check up on him. He puts up a thumbs up and gets up from the ground. Mari looked worried and Ishihara was confused. "What's wrong?" Ishihara asked. "Y-your nose is… bleeding." Mari answered, going to the kitchen. Ishihara felt his nose and Mari was right, the tip of his finger was covered in blood. "I'm back, here." Mari said, giving him some napkins. Ishihara twists the napkins and puts them in his nose. "This is why you should never run down the stairs." Mari said, facepalming herself. "Don't worry… because it's the Nao sibling's ultimate rain plans!" Ishihara yelled in excitement. "Heck yeah!" Mari yelled too. Every time it rains, the Nao siblings always do something the both of them enjoy and what they have in the house at the moment. Ishihara goes to the cabinet and grabs out a notebook with the title of Rain Plans. "What can we do?" Ishihara asked, reading the contents of the notebook. Mari starts to check cabinets and finds hot cocoa mix, cookie batter, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. "We can do plan three! We have the stuff for it!" Mari shouted, holding everything in her arms.
Ishihara flips to plan three and this is the schedule. First, get all the items needed. Second, prepare the hot cocoa and cookies. Third, find extra snacks, chips, sweets, and etcetera. Fourth, sit down and have a great time. "All right, prepare the hot cocoa. I'll prepare the cookies." Ishihara said. "All right big brother!" Mari answered. Ishihara walks to the kitchen and Mari passes him the cookie batter container. "I'm gonna start heating up the water. Do you want help with anything?" Mari questioned. "Actually yes, is this amount fine?" Ishihara answered, showing her a ball the size of his palm. Mari looks at it for a bit and then answers his question. "Just a little bigger. Now I'm going to heat up the water now." Mari answered, going to grab a pot from the cabinet. Ishihara does what she said and starts to put the dough balls on the baking sheet. While he does that, Mari lights the stove and puts the pot filled with water on it. As she finishes on what she's doing, Ishihara just puts the cookies in and starts baking them. "Time for the final step." Ishihara said, going to a room that was dusty. Mari follows him and sees him blowing dust off a really old piano. "It's been so long." Mari commented. "I know, it might sound a little weird." Ishihara added, grabbing the seat under the piano. Mari watches as he begins to press a few notes. Despite the piano looking old and dusty, the notes it played sound like it was just bought. Ishihara smiled and began to play a song his mother taught him, River Flows in You. When he began to play the song it seemed like it was just him and his mother again.
He sees her, a vague memory of her. His hands start to tremble a bit before Mari stops him. "Stop. You can't break down last time." Mari said. "I know, but still." Ishihara answered, wiping a tear off his cheek. Mari hugs him and Ishihara cries a bit. After a while they scrap the piano idea, instead they're going to sit on the couch and watch TV. They finish the snacks and drinks and Ishihara goes to find a large blanket. "Why does he always try?" Mari questioned in her head. She looks at a picture frame of their parents. "I know they aren't here now, but we still got each other." Ishihara said, looking at her from the stairs. "I know, b-but-!" Mari said, before getting her mouth covered. "We can't stop or go back. All we have to do is be here, without them." Ishihara said, trying to act tough. Even though he sounded composed, he was filled with grief inside. "You aren't okay, why do you try!" Mari questioned, shaking her brother. She stopped after she saw his smile. Not filled with grief or acceptance, but a smile filled with regret, sorrow, and pain. Mari hugs him and he hugs her back, both of them starting to tear up. "You're a crybaby." Mari commented. "Look who's talking?" Ishihara added. They both start to chuckle and they start to go back to what they were doing. "OH! Right the blanket is on the couch." Ishihara said.
"Should I go or?" Mari questioned. "No go, I'm going to bring it." Ishihara answered. "All right then." Mari said, going to sit on the couch. She puts the blanket over herself, Ishihara then comes in with a plate of cookies and leftover potato chips from yesterday. He sets them down and goes back and brings two mugs of hot cocoa. Ishihara's mug says "Nightmares can't Hurt You!" , merch from his favorite book Shadow Walker. Mari's mug says "Golden Integrity and Silver Passion", merch from her favorite book Gold and Silver. "Here you go." Ishihara said, giving her the mug. "Thank you big brother." Mari said, taking a sip when she gets the mug. He sits down beside her, grabbing some of the blanket and putting it over himself. "What do you want to watch?" Ishihara asked, picking up the remote. "Something fantasy related." Mari answered, eating a cookie. Ishihara starts to flip through channels and stumbles upon an anime. "Reincarnated into Another World with no Memories of Myself with my Classmates? Sounds weird." Ishihara said, scratching his head. "Put it on! It sounds weird, but it might be a good one." Mari said excitedly. "All right all right. Here we go!" Ishihara answered, taking his mug and taking a sip before putting on the anime. The two spend the rest of the day watching the anime.
