Chapter 150 - 150: Stormfront Visits The Boys

Vought's work efficiency was far faster than Butcher had imagined. In less than five minutes, a tech guy found Ivan with an iPad and pulled up surveillance footage from ten minutes earlier right in front of everyone.

"Mr. Greevs, look. The ones circled in red are the wanted criminals we're looking for. They left through entrance B, got into a white Toyota Corolla, passed by a church but didn't stop, and kept driving forward.

They soon left downtown Philadelphia.

There aren't many traffic enforcement cameras inside the city, so we pulled footage from street cameras. What we need to worry about is if they leave Philadelphia and head to the suburbs. We might lose real-time tracking."

America was huge, and people protested enforcement cameras because they felt it took away their freedom. As a result, the number of cameras kept decreasing or they were hidden better.

"Once they leave surveillance range, immediately request GBS from the Department of Defense in Vought's name and lock onto their position." Ivan said sharply.

Since Butcher chose to deliver the challenge letter now, it meant he had everything prepared. As for whether his actions would mess up Butcher's plans, Ivan didn't care. As long as Stormfront got lured out, most of his goal was already achieved.

"Understood."

Twenty minutes later, the tech guy sitting next to Ivan spoke excitedly, "Mr. Greevs, they stopped at a wooden cabin in the suburbs. The vehicle hasn't moved."

"Good." Stormfront took the iPad from him, glanced at it, and immediately decided this was Butcher's hideout.

Sure enough, the so-called abandoned chemical plant was just a trap. Did they really think she would fall for it?

"Thanks."

Stormfront smiled and patted the tech guy's shoulder. Then she lifted her head. A violent gust of wind swirled around her. In a flash, she shot straight into the sky and vanished from sight.

...

On the other side, Frenchie, still shaken, did the first thing he could after getting inside: poured Kimiko a glass of clean water.

"Drink some water and calm down. We'll get revenge for your brother soon." Frenchie sat next to her. Only now did his heart finally drop back into his chest.

From the start of the mission until now, Frenchie's nerves had been stretched tight the entire time. He had to worry about Kimiko possibly losing control and also watch out for Stormfront suddenly attacking them. Luckily everything went smoothly. Maybe Stormfront held back because there were too many civilians around, so she let them leave.

"After you finish the water, we need to get out of here fast. This place isn't safe. In case…"

Right then, Frenchie glanced out the window. Was he seeing things? He could have sworn a streak of blue light was coming straight toward them.

"No! It's Stormfront! How is she this fast?!" Frenchie panicked but still remembered to grab Kimiko's hand.

"You go down first." Frenchie brought Kimiko to a corner of the room. He lifted the wooden board covering the tunnel entrance and urged her to hurry.

Kimiko looked down. The tunnel was pitch black with no light at all. She looked back at Frenchie with fear in her eyes. The endless darkness stirred up shadows deep inside her. Memories of being locked in dungeons, tortured, with no hope of escape flooded her mind.

"I'll go with you." Frenchie looked anxious but tried to stay calm as he met her eyes.

In an instant, the dark images in Kimiko's mind washed away like a tide. She nodded obediently, then turned and jumped down without hesitation.

The second they entered the tunnel, Thump!

A bolt of lightning followed right behind them! It instantly destroyed the roof of the wooden cabin. The wooden structure caught fire immediately. Flames spread like venomous snakes. Soon the sudden spike in temperature and thick black smoke woke up the two sleeping men. They looked around in terror.

They felt like they were standing in the middle of a sea of flames.

Stormfront wasn't Homelander.

If it had been Homelander, he might have walked in to check the place, made sure he had the right spot, then started killing.

Stormfront was different. She didn't give a fuck about normal people's lives. Especially out in the suburbs with no witnesses around. She went completely wild. Bolts of lightning kept shooting from her palms like she wouldn't stop until the whole wooden cabin was destroyed.

"Shit! Someone's attacking the cabin. We need to get out now!" Mehmet roared in anger.

At the same time, he covered his entire body with sand and stone.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Mehmet was about to grab Ivar and run out of the fire.

But when he turned, he saw Ivar get hit by a lightning bolt. With a loud boom, Ivar, who had been full of life moments ago, turned into a nearly carbonized corpse.

Pure terror of death flooded Mehmet's mind.

"Run. I need to run." Mehmet didn't give a shit about Homelander's mission anymore. His only thought was escape!

Too bad Stormfront wasn't going to let him go so easily. She pointed her palm at Mehmet. The next second, a massive bolt of lightning shot straight at him!

"I surrender! I surrender!"

Mehmet dropped to his knees in front of the incoming lightning, hands on his head, begging Stormfront to spare him.

But when the lightning struck, Mehmet's life and pose froze forever.

Encased in glass, he looked like a piece of art.

At the same time,

Inside the tunnel, Frenchie quickly dialed Butcher's number. His voice was urgent. "Fuck, Stormfront caught up. I don't think those two guys will last long. I'm guessing she'll find this tunnel soon. Kimiko and I need to get out fast."

"They're already dead. I'm blowing the charges in sixty seconds. Have Kimiko carry you and run!"

Butcher sat in front of his computer, breathing hard as he stared at the now-black surveillance feed.

60! 59! 58…
