'What did I expect from someone like her anyways.' Alan thought to himself as he had unconsciously turned his gaze back to the Cullens, and he saw all of them looking towards him, those eyes, the exact same colouring on each of them, fixed directly into his own pupils.
This time, the shiver than went through him wasn't something he could stop, it was like he was facing a group of lions in the middle of a jungle, every other sound seemed to become muted for a second, as Alan's pupils tightened visibly whilst his body grew rigid, just like a prey animal in front of it's natural predator.
This however only lasted for a brief second as all three pair of amber eyes quickly swerved away to gaze at each other instead of Alan.
For a brief moment, Alan was confused, before slowly his head turned until he was staring at his side where he found Alice, still there, still gazing at him and yet her amber eyes had changed dramatically from just a brief second before, they were dark, unfathomably darker than before.
'What just happened?' Alan thought to himself as the confusion in his mind deepened.
If one were to turn back time a mere few seconds ago, and have had a supernatural level of perception then they would have noticed what had happened.
"Alice… you are making the wrong move, he already suspects something, the question about the food and then him not responding for a bit, he was clearly thinking. This is a dangerous game for all of us that you are thrusting us into. Tell him to fuck off and come back here." Rosalie had spoken, her voice a mere hush said at supernatural speeds that carried and was heard to only three other people in the entire cafeteria, Alice Cullen, Jasper Hale and Emmet Cullen.
"Come on Rose, Carlisle let her do whatever she wanted with her mate, let's not do this here." Emmet spoke after, his voice and tone clearly trying to placate his own mate as he put a hand on her thigh.
"Shut up Emmet." Rosalie had hissed right back whilst Jasper who had been silent this entire time was constantly trying to calm the woman whilst using his gift however these days with the tensions growing higher, he was finding it harder and harder to do so, especially the emotions of Alice Cullen who was further away from them and as he sensed was currently like a volcano on the verge of eruption at the mere fact that Rosalie had told her to tell Alan to fuck off.
The fact that he was surrounded by so many humans who smelled like the greatest delicacy to someone of his kind wasn't helping the fact much if at all.
"Rose… stay in your lane." Alice spoke back from Alan's table, her head swerving towards Rosalie, her amber eyes instantly darkening to a pitch black colour, and her teeth almost fully showing.
The trio at the cullen table had turned to face her for a brief moment before their eyes had landed onto Alan and then they had turned away once more, this time at regular speeds.
Almost the entire situation had gone unnoticed by every single other person besides the family members, everything had occurred either with them talking at supernatural speeds or moving their gazes at speeds that the other humans hadn't even been able to see them move at.
Meanwhile Alan who still remained completely oblivious to the situation lifted his hand and grabbed the apple that Alice had gotten as part of her lunch tray.
"You don't mind if i take this apple right? Since you're clearly not eating it, or we could share if you want?" Alan said as he tried to show the confusing woman before him a smile, though it was clearly a struggling one.
Alice's eyes slowly moved down towards the apple before they lifted back up to Alan's own eyes and for a second she seemed to instantly want to reject it, at least until a moment later she released a sigh and nodded her head.
"Alright, just a little since you're offering." She relented as she released a soft sigh.
Alan's eyes widened for a moment as he stared at her before nodding as he took the small knife besides the tray and cut the apple in half before offering one side to her and taking one side himself, as he took a bite out of it and started chewing, his mind once more in slight disarray.
'So… she can eat? Was I wrong about that then? Maybe they can eat regular food but just don't need to?' Alan thought to himself, in slight confusion as Alice proved his previous theory about them not eating human foods or being incapable of it wrong as his eyes closely watched her take her half of the apple and bring it to those pale lips and take a bite out of it with a loud crunching sound.
'Just… what is she then? At first, I thought she was some kind of like ghoul who eats human flesh or something because of that crimson aura and the fact that she doesn't eat human food but that's clearly wrong.' Alan thought to himself, he still knew that she wasn't normal, there was no way she was, but now his slight theory about what she could have been was completely thwarted.
'So a creature that does eat human food… do I have to find some kind of monster encyclopedia or something?' Alan thought as he released a inward sigh, his head slumping slightly.
Meanwhile Alice who was chewing the apple turned her head at speeds beyond human limits as soon as Alan's eyes had turned slightly down and spat out the chewed apple bite far away to the corner before turning her head back instantly and pretending that she had swallowed.
"Ew… it's kinda gross, like I only did it for you y'know?" Alice said with a giggle as she put her half of the apple down onto the table once more.
