'Barely…. But rosalie… she was right in a way… this way, it'll at least stop him from thinking of anything that comes too close to home. Look however much you want for now Alan… I'm just a regular girl who's really really into you.' Alice thought to herself as she gazed into his eyes, her smile lifting up softly as the memory of the absolutely disgusting human food slowly flew away from her mind.
She had done one thing right, in a way she had indeed pulled Alan away from his thoughts of human eating monsters but she had completely failed to convince him that she was a human, afterall… he already knew at least that much simply from the system.
Minutes passed slowly as the two continued to almost dance around each other in the conversations, Alan making soft quips that he tried to use to gain more information on what she was, whilst Alice on the other hand kept trying to trick him into believing that she was just a regular girl with a crush.
It was almost painful to watch, if someone who knew both of them were to be next to them, their annoyance would likely cause a cholesterol problem.
Finally, half an hour later, the bell signaling the end of the lunch period rang as Alan slowly rose up from his seat and look down towards Alice.
"I'll get going them, also the part about going out after school was just a joke right? Because I don't really have much time to do it, maybe another day?" Alan said, his voice gentler than it had been before, and for the first time in a while when facing Alice, it was almost genuine.
"Oh I mean… I hoped it was real, but if your really busy, I guess I can't complain much. But I'll hold you to that 'another day', don't leave me next time alright?" Alice said back with a teasing voice as she slowly rose up from her own chair and walked to Alan before lightly bumping her shoulder with his.
The other students all around them were already out of the cafeteria by this point or already close to the exit and currently walking out. The rest of the Cullens as always had already long left and gone about their own ways, the last to enter the cafeteria at lunch and the first to leave it as usual.
"Alright, well then I'll get going. See you tomorrow then?" Alan asked with a raised eyebrow as he slightly turned his body away.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow Alan." Alice replied softly with a light sigh though her lips as they always were when facing Alan, were turned upwards, it was clear that she was seemingly enjoying every single moment, even this moment of temporary parting.
'Weirdo… but nice enough.' Alan thought to himself as he fully completed his turn and started walking away, step after step until he was out of the cafeteria and into the schools hallways, the students having already gone to their lockers and took out their books to head to their next classes.
Walking towards his own locker and opening it, Alan quickly looked at his schedule calendar.
'Today's Wednesday? Man… time really does fly by, I almost feel like I just got the system and it's monday. Yet at the same time, It feels so slow, so much stuff has happened and yet barely three days have passed. The first day, meeting the guys, the second day where i went to their place and then today and most of last night…' Alan thought to himself as he gently shook his head before releasing a slow tired sigh.
At this point, Alan almost felt like he would have already aged ten years had it not been for that small percentage elf that he had become.
'Alright, let's just go.' He thought as he took his books and turned, walking towards his next class, which happened to be spanish.
Heading inside the classroom, he walked towards his usual seat at the very back, next to the window and sat down, before completely turning off his brain as he dozed off, his mind flying away into the distance.
Time kept passing, slowly but surely, the hours changed, the classes changed and soon enough, the last bell signalling the end of classes for the day rang, its sound being heard all around the entire school building, in every hallway and classroom.
*Riiiiinnnnngg*
'Finally.' Alan thought as he lifted his hand, holding it to his mouth as he released a long tired yawn before getting up from his seat and walking towards the exit of the school.
It didn't take long for him to navigate through the hallways which for a certain Bella Swan had been quite confusing, thankfully she was usually always with atleast one of her new friends.
She was walking a few feet ahead of Alan, together with Angela Weber.
'Hum… that's Bella, this is the first time besides that one time in bio that we were this close.' Alan thought curiously though he didn't bother trying to start an interaction, he was sure that she was human however he didn't know what exact gift she had, but something told him, something that he suspected was his charisma told him that unlike Alice, Bella wasn't faking her expressions or moods, she really was a clumsy highschool girl.
Soon after, Alan and the rest of the students exited the main school building, once in the front parking lot, many of them headed to their own old beat up cars, just like Bella Swan headed to her old barely functional orange truck or they headed to their new shiny cars, though that was only the Cullens.
Alan meanwhile headed down the road on foot, he had neither a car, nor a motorcycle or even a simple bicycle.
'Someday, someday.' Alan thought as he walked down the road, humming slightly under his breath.
He had managed to at least somewhat forget what had happened, though it was still a thing he was thinking about, he had calmed down a lot about todays events, he expected the Cullens to deal with the problems.
At least until he arrived before his apartment building… He wasn't the only one there.
