Chapter 11 - Part 11 — The Gate Beneath the Sea-

The ocean was silent.

Not the peaceful silence of calm water, but a strange, heavy silence that felt alive.

Aren stood at the edge of the ancient cliff, staring into the dark sea below. The Star Heart pulsed beneath his cloak, glowing faintly blue.

Beside him, Lyra tightened her grip on her bow.

"We're really doing this?" she asked.

Aren nodded.

"The map led us here. The next shard is beneath the sea."

Behind them, Kael looked unconvinced.

"Normal people search mountains and caves," he muttered. "We search the bottom of the ocean."

For the first time in days, Lyra laughed.

Then the laughter faded.

The sea began to glow.

Lines of silver light appeared beneath the waves, forming a giant circle.

The ancient map in Aren's hand started shining.

"It's opening," he whispered.

Suddenly, the ocean split apart.

Water rushed to both sides, revealing a stone pathway descending into darkness.

None of them spoke.

The legends were real.

Deep beneath the sea, a hidden city waited.

The path seemed endless.

Ancient statues stood along the sides, worn by thousands of years.

Each statue held a crystal star.

Most were broken.

Aren felt uneasy.

"Something happened here," he said.

"Something terrible."

At the end of the pathway stood a massive gate covered in glowing symbols.

The moment Aren approached, the symbols lit up.

A voice echoed through the darkness.

"Bearer of the Fallen Star..."

The ground trembled.

"Prove your worth."

The gate slowly opened.

Beyond it lay a gigantic underwater city.

Glass towers rose toward the ocean above.

Blue lights floated through the streets like living stars.

Even Kael stood speechless.

"It's beautiful."

But Lyra noticed something else.

"There's no one here."

She was right.

The city was empty.

Not abandoned.

Empty.

As if everyone had vanished in a single moment.

In the center of the city stood a crystal palace.

And inside it waited the second Star Shard.

Its golden light illuminated the entire chamber.

Aren stepped forward.

At last.

They had found it.

But the moment his hand touched the shard—

A scream echoed through the city.

Every light went dark.

The palace shook violently.

Then shadows began crawling from the walls.

Hundreds of them.

Creatures made of pure darkness.

Their eyes glowed red.

Kael drew his sword.

"Please tell me those are friendly."

"They aren't," Lyra replied.

The shadows charged.

Aren grabbed the Star Shard.

Golden light exploded across the palace.

The darkness recoiled.

For a moment, the creatures hesitated.

Then a larger shadow emerged behind them.

A giant figure wearing a broken crown.

Its eyes burned like dying stars.

The Shadow King.

A voice thundered through the city.

"The Star Heart has returned."

The creature smiled.

"And now it will finally be mine."

The ground cracked beneath Aren's feet.

The battle had begun.
