Ren Isana and Asuna's conversation immediately drew the gazes of Megumi Kato and Yukino Yukinoshita, both of whom looked somewhat surprised.
"You two have already fought those monsters?" Yukino looked at Ren and Asuna in disbelief. *They've already fought them?*
"Yeah, they appeared in the area where we used to live. Ren and I fought a pack of Goblins," Asuna didn't hide anything and truthfully explained what had happened.
Hearing this, the other two girls immediately grew interested. They were both highly curious about the monsters from that Dungeon.
"What kind of monsters were they?" With next week's combat training in mind, Yukino began to ask them for details.
She was genuinely intrigued. Being able to engage in actual combat would be much faster for improving than just practicing at school. As the saying goes, knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory.
Yukino wanted to gather some intelligence, which was why she asked. However, her efforts were clearly in vain.
After all, Ren and Asuna only knew of two types of monsters: Minotaurs and Goblins. There wasn't much to say. It wasn't like Ren could just blurt out everything he had seen in anime.
So, Ren just threw his hands up, pretending he didn't know much else. He simply described the Goblins and the Minotaur, which hardly counted as useful intelligence.
"What a pity. Perhaps we'll get more information on Monday," Yukino said. Though she felt a bit disappointed, she didn't press the issue.
"Ren, where did you buy your weapon? Could you recommend the place to me? I need to prepare a weapon tomorrow too," Megumi chimed in.
She wasn't focused on the monsters; instead, she was asking about where Ren bought his weapon, because his Tang Dao clearly looked like a high-quality piece.
The person who forged that weapon must be an incredibly skilled master, right? Buying a weapon from a shop like that would definitely give her peace of mind.
Faced with Megumi's inquiry, Ren immediately started promoting the shop. Maya had done him a huge favor, so he naturally didn't mind drumming up some business for her.
"It's a weapon shop right near the school. It's called Jimmy's Weapon Shop," Ren gave her the name of Maya's store.
Hearing Ren say this, Megumi recalled the shop. She asked in surprise, "I've walked past it before, but I never went inside. Though, I remember the weapons in her shop being quite cheap?"
Subconsciously, she believed that cheap meant low quality. But Ren's Tang Dao was completely different. Did they really have such good weapons inside?
Having worked there part-time, Ren naturally knew the situation. He immediately explained, "That's just because they don't put the good weapons out on display. Just go and tell the proprietress that I sent you, and ask her to show you the better stuff."
"Oh, right. Besides selling weapons, her shop also buys all sorts of materials," Ren didn't forget to add this final point. Generally speaking, Maya's shop also accepted custom weapon orders.
After all, her husband had put all his talent points into blacksmithing, and all the weapons in the shop were forged by him. The higher-tier weapons were usually kept in the back.
Hearing Ren's explanation, Megumi suddenly understood. Yukino had also been listening to their conversation and couldn't help but interject, "Ren, since you're coming to my place after school, how about we drop by there on the way?"
With Ren leading the way, they would surely be able to buy better weapons. She needed to get one for herself as well; heading into the Dungeon barehanded would be far too troublesome.
Some monsters simply weren't suited for unarmed, hand-to-hand combat. She knew a bit of swordsmanship, so she needed to get a weapon too.
"Sure, I can take you guys there." Ren naturally wouldn't refuse; it was on the way, after all.
The group agreed on the plan. Meanwhile, the rest of the class seemed to feel a sense of urgency, and many students began flocking over to Ren.
They begged Ren to help them solve their bottlenecks, asking him about all the concepts they didn't understand.
Looking at his classmates, Ren couldn't help but speak up. "To be honest, if some of you can't break through quickly on the Martial Arts path, you might as well try focusing on the Mage path. After all, everyone has to choose a path they excel at. There's no need to stubbornly hit a brick wall, right?"
Everyone paused upon hearing Ren's words. They really hadn't thought about it that way. Since the teachers made them study both, everyone subconsciously assumed they had to advance in both True Qi and Magic Power simultaneously.
Only a small minority had actually planned out their own development. Now, with Ren's reminder, the crowd finally realized: *Yeah, if we can't break through in Martial Arts, why not look toward Magic?*
"The teachers only required us to reach Tier 3, but they never specified whether it had to be Tier 3 in Martial Arts or Magic. I can see that many of you have a very solid total capacity of Magic Power. If you put in a little effort over the next two days, hitting Tier 3 will be a breeze." *These guys really don't know how to prioritize.*
Was Martial Arts their main focus, or was Magic? This group hadn't decided at all, and the teachers hadn't explicitly pointed it out either. It was clearly meant for them to decide for themselves.
However, these students hadn't realized it right away. Instead, they were stubbornly grinding away at Martial Arts, even though many of them clearly had stronger talents for Magic.
"He's right! We can totally just break through in Magic first, and then study Martial Arts later. My talent is obviously much stronger in Magic, so why am I banging my head against the wall with Martial Arts?"
With just a slight nudge from Ren, many students instantly saw the light. Stubbornly grinding Martial Arts was putting the cart before the horse! Their true advantage lay in Magic.
"So, you all know what to do now, right? Even though our class studies both, not everyone can advance in both simultaneously. There always has to be a primary and a secondary focus, doesn't there?" Ren spread his hands, feeling truly helpless when it came to his classmates.
"You're right! My talent is in Magic. If I work hard, I can definitely reach Tier 3 within these two days!" The students were instantly awakened, and many changed their strategies on the spot.
In a flash, a large portion of the crowd around Ren dispersed. The remaining students were those whose Martial Arts talent was better than their Magic talent, so they had no choice but to continue asking Ren for advice.
Furthermore, many of them were just one step away. As long as they broke through, they would reach Tier 3. Ren began lecturing his classmates. Meanwhile, some students noticed Yukino and simply decided to ask her for guidance instead.
After all, everyone hadn't forgotten that aside from Ren, Yukino Yukinoshita was also very strong. Moreover, she had broken through on the exact same day as Ren.
With so many people crowding around Ren, it was better to consult Yukino, who was currently free!
Faced with their requests for guidance, Yukino didn't refuse. She also began lecturing the students, sharing some of her own insights.
