Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Although this Lancer has Luck D, I still want to change class to Assassin

"Let us end this tragedy as soon as possible." Tristan glanced at Daniel and the others, who had no casualties, and his expression instantly turned sorrowful.

"Oh? Ah, Tristan, why don't you stand over there with them too." Mordred said in a manic tone, "Let me send you all to your graves in one shot!"

"...I actually wanted to attack the boy hiding behind you just now. If I say that, can you forgive me?" Tristan was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly asked.

"Then wouldn't it be better if you also stood in the same line as them? I could use that excuse to cut you down too!" Mordred sneered.

While the two Knights of the Round Table were attacking each other with words, Bedivere and Sanzang had each stood by their teammates' sides, confronting Mordred and Tristan.

Arash and Bedivere confronted Tristan.

Daniel and Sanzang confronted Mordred.

"Actually, I think it would be better if both of you helped Arash kill Tristan first, and then came over to help me together." Daniel twitched his lips and suggested, "Mordred is a bit difficult to handle."

One-on-one, except for Arash and Sanzang who could use self-detonation attacks, neither Daniel nor Bedivere was a match for her.

In a two-on-one, Daniel preferred that Arash help him fight Mordred.

At the very least, with Arash's superb archery, Mordred would beat him up several times less.

"Now is not the time for this." Sanzang's brow furrowed tightly, "I've had a bad premonition since a moment ago. If we don't resolve this quickly, it will be very dangerous."

"How dangerous could it be? It's not like Gawain is going to suddenly jump out." Daniel gave a bitter smile and shrugged his shoulders in response.

"Probably just the level of another Knight of the Round Table and dozens more Purification Knights." Agravain's cold voice suddenly rang out from the side.

Daniel turned his head to look and was shocked to find Agravain and dozens of Purification Knights slowly walking toward them.

Not a single one was on horseback, and with each having unique movement techniques, no one had noticed this group of people clad in heavy armor approaching to such a distance until now.

"Agravain... Why are you here?" Daniel looked at Arash in shock, then stood back-to-back with Sanzang, facing Agravain.

"You've got to be kidding. If Agravain is here, then who was the one my Clairvoyance saw before?" Arash also looked at Agravain, dumbfounded.

"It's nothing, just had a Purification Knight disguise himself as me to lead the team." Agravain replied, "However, I did have him put a little extra effort into the disguise, specifically targeting Sir Arash's Clairvoyance."

"This is really... My apologies, it seems I've led everyone into a trap." Arash said apologetically.

"No, this way we can ensure that nothing will go wrong on Fujimaru's side." Daniel replied with a dry laugh.

"...As expected, Sir Lancelot has already defected to your side." Agravain said suddenly after a few seconds of silence.

"Right, right, he defected to us. You should hurry back and tell the Lion King, then finish him off." Daniel said from the side in a mocking tone.

"Hey, hey, hey, Agravain, are you sure you haven't got it wrong? Don't fall for this kid's schemes again and eliminate a powerful ally on our side for nothing." Mordred glanced at Daniel and reminded Agravain, "In terms of cunning, this kid isn't as good as you, but he does have some quick wit."

"He might also use that very line of thinking to protect Sir Lancelot." Agravain glanced at Mordred and responded.

This child still doesn't like using her brain as usual.

Of the siblings, this one is a real blockhead.

...Oh, wait, there's also Gareth; that child is also incredibly reckless.

Two sisters, both blockheads.

It gives their older brother a headache.

Thinking of this, Agravain couldn't help but glance at Tristan.

Heh, outsider.

"Everyone, the situation doesn't seem very good." Daniel scratched his chin, then looked at his other three teammates with a bitter smile, "Arash, how about you go and lie in wait in the mountains first? We'll fight while retreating?"

"Sniping from the shadows? I'm fairly good at that, but what about Tristan?" Arash nodded in agreement.

"Are you guys really discussing battle tactics so openly in front of the enemy?" Sanzang reminded them with wide eyes.

"You stall Mordred." Daniel whispered into Sanzang's ear, then grabbed Sanzang's hand and ran toward the mountains, "Bedivere, follow us!"

"Chase them! We must not let them escape!" At Agravain's command, the Purification Knights immediately gave chase.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't run! Let me have some more fun!" Mordred, somewhat angry, stomped the ground, creating several cracks, and then followed after them.

"Tristan, you're responsible for dealing with Arash's arrows from the rear." After glancing at Tristan, Agravain also gave chase.

"There it is again, that feeling of being excluded." Tristan muttered as he slowly followed at the very back.

"Bedivere, you hold back Agravain... Don't be too aggressive, aim for survival." After leaving Bedivere with those words, Daniel turned and slipped into a narrow crevice.

Deactivating Gareth's spirit core possession and reverting to normal human mode, Daniel held his breath and quietly waited for the pursuers to pass by.

"I see." Bedivere felt he had figured out Daniel's plan, then nodded to Sanzang and increased his speed.

He had to first create the illusion that Daniel was running so far ahead that he couldn't even be seen.

Fortunately, the mountains here were all solid rock with little soil, so no footprints would be left as a flaw.

Furthermore, Daniel no longer had a spirit core reaction, so he wouldn't be easily discovered.

The only archer in the opposing team was keeping his eyes closed, pretending to be blind.

Sir Tristan, although it won't be by my hand that you find release, being slain by Sir Gareth... by Lord Daniel's own hand, should also be a fine way to find peace.

"Am I the only one who still hasn't figured out what you guys are trying to do?" Sanzang chased after them with a tearful face.

Trot, trot, trot, trot...

The sound of footsteps rang in his ears, coming from afar, getting closer, and then gradually fading away.

Daniel covered his mouth and nose tightly, not daring to let out a single breath.

He just waited there quietly.

Until the last, somewhat leisurely sound of footsteps slowly rang out, only then did a slight smile appear on his face.

No rush, let him walk a bit further and increase the distance from the main force ahead.

Daniel felt that inheriting Gareth's spirit core was a real loss; why be a Lancer with Luck E? Wouldn't being an Assassin be better!

Although Gareth's Luck value is D, what's the difference from E?
