Stanley Goodman House
Eric looked down at the police report in his hand, then raised his eyes to his mother.
"Mum, is his new wife really dead?"
There was no concern in his voice. He was more interested in what Loretta's death would mean for Kevin and, more importantly, for the Goodman family.
"How would I know?" Alice replied. "I asked your father to investigate. This police confirmation is too vague. There is definitely something wrong."
"Then has there been any news?" Eric asked. He could not understand why he was also a son of the Goodman family, yet only Kevin had the fame and status that came with the family name.
Before Alice could answer, the sound of the front door opening drew their attention.
A moment later, Stanley Goodman walked into the room.
He looked unusually serious, and the expression on his face immediately caught their attention.
"Welcome," Alice said, getting up to collect his bag from him. She put on a sweet smile. "You look tired."
