Renee didn't need to answer the question before Vivan realized who the man was. The name, 'My World,' and the content of the message were enough to tell her it was her husband.
She finally understood why her husband wasn't at the hospital as he should be. He wanted a divorce.
"When did I get married?" She asked Renee, her voice softer this time.
"Three years ago," Renee answered, scratching the tip of her nose.
"Did he force me? What did he threaten me with? My company? My family?" There is no freaking way she would agree to get married to a man.
She is Vivan Vale. She has never been in a relationship with a man before. How could she possibly be married?
Renee placed one hand over the other and looked away from Vivan. She didn't know how to tell her boss that no one forced her.
That she had walked down the aisle with that man three years ago and had spent the last three years loving him as his wife, forsaking every other thing, including her company.
"Answer me." Vivan's voice was sharp, all smiles from her face had disappeared, replaced with something cold.
"You fell in love with him," Renee answered.
"Love?" Vivan repeated the word. It sounded like a joke. "I have no business with love."
Renee finally looked at her. There was a lot she didn't know.
"You changed after your surgery five years ago, and it was at that time that Mr. Cayne entered into your life." She began.
"You were both in love," she added then stopped.
She decided it would be best not to tell her how into Nathan Cayne she has been. 'It would be best if she figured it out herself as she recovered her memory,' Renee thought.
Vivan was quiet for a while, weighing Renee's words. No matter how hard she tried, she could not remember ever being in love with a man called Cayne.
But she knew Renee would never lie to her. She looked down at the message. "You claim we were in love, why then does he want a divorce?" She asked.
Renee shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know." Then she asked, "what are you going to do about the divorce?"
"I'll sign it, of course." Vivian answered without thinking. She leaned into the bed, supporting herself with her arms.
"It's already insane that I'm married. If he is providing a way to get out of it, why should I let it slide?" She questioned.
Renee's face brightened immediately. She could barely contain her excitement. She began to wonder if this amnesia was a gift from God, a way to knock sense back into her boss.
"That's a really good decision. We should go get the papers signed immediately." She said, rising to her feet. She began to gather her things into her bag, ready to leave.
Vivan stopped her. "The divorce can wait. I need the reports and documents on Vale Synergy. Detailed. Don't leave anything out."
"But-"
"Whoever this Nathan is, he is not as important as my company. I will definitely sign the divorce papers, but not today."
Besides, his message was rude and commanding. She wasn't used to taking commands from anyone.
Vivan spent the rest of her days going through files. She didn't rest as the doctor had instructed.
The next day, she got discharged. The doctor had reluctantly allowed it. He wanted her to spend more time in the hospital so they could watch her, but she declined.
She had a lot to attend to. She left the hospital with a promise never to miss any appointment.
Immediately she stepped out of the hospital, she sent Nathan a text. "Where do we meet to sign the divorce papers?" She asked.
His reply came immediately as if he had been waiting by his phone: "My office."
Vivan twisted her lips. Nothing from his message showed any sign of love.
He didn't call her these past days while she was in the hospital, so there was no way they were in love.
He seemed eager to have her out of his life, which was a good thing. If he hadn't proposed a divorce, she would have done that.

Nathan's office.
Nathan is seated on a couch in his office, a lady with blonde hair sits beside him, leaning against his chest. His hand lays on her waist possessively.
There was a table in front of them which held two glasses of red wine. Nathan threw his head to the side, casting a quick glance at the wall clock ticking away slowly.
"It's been over thirty minutes, why is she not here yet?" The blonde lady whose name was Katrina asked, annoyance dripping from her voice.
Nathan's hand slid through her hair without a word.
Katrina pulled away from him and stared at his face. "Is it possible she changed her mind?"
That thought scared her, after all, they had been trying to get her to sign the divorce papers for over six months, with no success.
She held on to Nathan and even allowed him to spend time with her if that means she will remain his wife.
Nathan held her head and directed her head to his chest. "There's nothing to worry about."
His phone beeped in his pocket, and he pulled it out. He stared at the screen, quickly scanning the message from his P.A. Reid.
Vivan was here.
His eyes moved to the door. Katrina went on speaking, but his mind had drifted to Vivan and whatever drama she was bringing.
He could already feel his head throbbing.
People fall out of love, that is normal. He never understood why Vivan insisted her love was enough for both of them.
A soft knock on the door broke his thoughts.
He tried to sit straight, but Karina's hand pushed him back down. "This position is comfortable." She said softly, pressing her body into his.
Another knock.
A few seconds passed before Nathan said, "come in."
The door pushed open, and Vivan stepped in. She wore blue jeans and a black top, her hair tied in a bun.
Her shoes tapped softly on the floor as she walked.
"Look who is finally here." Katrina said, drawing circles on Nathan's chest.
Vivan squared her shoulders, ignoring the annoying female voice as she walked.
Her eyes looked tired but calm. She stared at the man on the couch, immediately recognizing him as the man from her wallpaper.
Her husband. His hair was the same, a light shade of brown.
She stopped in front of them. Her eyes fell on the man, who kept a straight face.
"I didn't know we'd be having company." Vivan stated, giving a dismissive look at Karina.
"Let's get this over with. Where is the divorce paper?" Her voice is tight and controlled.
