I slammed my shoulder against the cell door for the third time, testing the give.
"We're doing this tonight," I told Elise, keeping my voice low. "Western perimeter. Forty-minute gap in patrol. Weak fence post near the generator shed. I hit it, shift, take the gate guards quiet, then we run for the tree line."
Elise sat up straighter on the thin mattress of the cot. "You think you can shift? Full enough to make that work?"
I shrugged one shoulder. "Don't know. Haven't tried since the last time I tried, to be honest. But I have to. Sitting here waiting for Rhys or Callum to save us… or Calista's next circus isn't a plan."
She watched me with that lawyerly look. "Risky as hell, Reid. If it goes sideways—"
"It'll go sideways if we don't move. Are you in or not?"
"I'm in," she said. No hesitation. "Just don't die trying."
