Chapter 49 - THE CRIMSON EVE

02:00 AM (The night before the battle)

Sector 7 Headquarters – War Room

The atmosphere stands in stark contrast to the chaos in Chinatown. Here, everything moves with military precision. There are no shouts, only the sound of keyboards clicking and the metallic clink of weapons being inspected. Rion stands before a digital map of Chinatown glowing in blue, while Ren stands beside him, her face a mask of impenetrable coldness.

Intelligence reports from Selina continue to pour in. Chinatown has been transformed into a fortress. Seifong and Chang have mobilized over two hundred men from various merchant factions and ammunition smugglers.

Instructions from the "Papi"

Rion stares at the red dots on the map—the positions of the Phoenix Restaurant and Seifong's ammunition warehouses. "Echi is still unconscious. Dr. Suizen says she's stable, but she needs time. I don't have the time to wait for another apology from Seifong."

Rion turns to Garry and Gin. "You two lead the front line. Do not use guerrilla tactics. I want you to enter through the main gate of Chinatown openly. Let them see exactly who is coming."

Ricky smirks as he loads rounds into his pistol. "Enter openly? That's just asking for a bullet, Boss. But I like the style."

"Use the ballistic shields and the latest tear gas from the lab," Ren adds. "We aren't going to destroy the buildings; we are going to break the people inside. We need Seifong's ammunition infrastructure intact for us to take over later."

Special Mission: Alive and Captured

Rion looks at Shanon8⁹. The teenage girl looks pale, but her eyes are burning with rage over what happened to her sister.

"Shanon, you stay with Selina at the command center," Rion commands. "But hear this... Seifong and Chang belong to me. Do not let anyone pull the trigger on them before I get there. I want them to see the face of the man whose child they ran over."

Chinatown: The Sleeping Dragon Awakens

Meanwhile, in Sector 4, the atmosphere is deathly tense. Chang has ordered every shop to close and the streetlights to be extinguished. In their place, they have erected barricades made of trucks and oil drums at every intersection.

"They think they can trample over us just because they took down the Steel Group?" Chang roars in front of his men. "We have more bullets than they do! We own these streets! If they dare enter, we'll turn Chinatown into their graveyard!"

Seifong sits in the corner of the room, staring at his trembling hands. He looks at the stacks of ammunition crates surrounding him. He knows a truth that Chang fails to realize: bullets are useless if the one firing them is already dead from fear before even seeing the enemy.

Seconds Toward Dawn

At the Sector 7 base, Rion grabs his long black jacket. He checks his favorite folding knife and tucks it behind his waist.

"Ren," Rion calls out while they are alone in the armory.

"Yes?"

"If I get too wild out there... don't stop me," Rion says without turning around.

Ren walks closer and straightens Rion's collar—a small gesture showing her care as the "Mami" of this family. "I won't stop you. I'll make sure no one stands behind you to interrupt your work."

Rion nods. He walks out toward the row of black cars already idling in the parking lot. The first light of dawn begins to peek from the eastern horizon, a deep, thick red—the color of blood. The War for Sector 4 is no longer about the ammunition business. It is the vengeance of a father.
