"She won't say anything," Elena continued, her tone steady, almost detached. "Clara will never open her mouth."
"You seem very sure," Lucien said after a moment.
"I am." She said intentionally keeping it short.
Lucien didn't look convinced.
Not fully.
But for now… he let go.
"Good," he said finally, stepping back as if nothing had happened. The faint smile returned, though it didn't soften his eyes. "Then keep it that way."
Elena didn't respond.
She simply walked ahead and this time… he didn't follow as closely but his gaze remained on her.
