It was 8:00 PM.
A cold night had settled over Leh, Ladakh, with a light drizzle falling from the dark sky. The streets were quiet, almost deserted, and under the glow of streetlights, the raindrops shimmered as they fell.
Inside the house, Ayaan stepped out of his room.
He stood tall—around six feet—with a muscular build and fair skin. He looked no older than twenty-six or twenty-seven. Wearing a black coat, he picked up his bag and glanced at his parents, who were standing in the drawing room.
Ayaan: Bye, Mom… bye, Dad. I'm heading to the office.
He had just reached the door when his mother's voice stopped him.
Mom: Ayaan, wait a second!
He turned back.
She was standing there, holding a silver locket in her hand.
Mom: You're forgetting your locket again. You remember, right… you never leave the house without it.
A faint smile crossed Ayaan's face as he lightly tapped his forehead.
Ayaan: Thanks, Mom… I actually forgot.
He took the locket and wore it around his neck.
Mom: Keep it safe, beta.
Ayaan: Don't worry, Mom. I always do.
Ayaan stepped out of the house.
A cold breeze brushed against him, and the soft raindrops landed on his coat as he walked forward.
He got into his car, started the engine, and drove off toward his office.
As he drove through the quiet roads, his mind drifted to the meeting ahead.
Ayaan (thinking): Tonight's meeting is very important… if we secure this deal, it will bring huge profits to the company.
A few moments later—
Thud!
The car jolted slightly before coming to an abrupt stop.
Ayaan pulled the car over to the side and stepped out to check.
The tyre was punctured.
Ayaan: Oh God… why now?
He took out his phone, but the moment he looked at the screen, his frustration grew.
The battery was almost dead.
Ayaan: Great… perfect timing. My phone's about to die, there won't be any mechanic at this hour… and I need to reach the office quickly.
He looked around.
A little ahead, he noticed a bus stop.
Ayaan: Looks like I'll have to take the bus today.
He parked the car properly on the side of the road and started walking toward the bus stop.
But he had no idea…
that this rain, this night—
was about to change his life completely.
Ayaan reached the bus stop.
There weren't many people around. Just the soft drizzle and the cold wind filled the quiet night.
Just then, a bus pulled up in front of him.
Ayaan was about to step in—
when suddenly, his feet froze in place.
From the bus door, a girl was stepping down.
The moment Ayaan's eyes fell on her; it felt as if time itself had paused.
She was dressed simply, with a bag resting on her shoulder. She took out an umbrella from her bag and opened it.
The soft raindrops fell over her hair, and under the streetlight, she looked even more beautiful.
Ayaan just stood there, staring at her.
He didn't even realize…
when the bus had left.
The girl glanced around once and then started walking toward her home.
Ayaan's eyes were still fixed on her.
Just then, another bus behind him blared its horn loudly.
Ayaan snapped back to reality.
Ayaan: Oh… I need to get to the office.
He quickly stepped into the bus and left for the office.
After some time, Ayaan reached his office.
The meeting went even better than expected.
The deal that had been pending for months was finally signed.
Everyone in the office was happy.
Manager: Congratulations, Ayaan! If your presentation hadn't been this strong, closing this deal would have been difficult.
Ayaan: Thank you, sir.
But to be honest, Ayaan's mind was somewhere else.
The scene at the bus stop kept replaying in his head.
And that unknown girl.
Ayaan sat in his chair, lost in thought.
Ayaan (thinking): I don't know why… but it feels like I got this deal because of her.
A small smile appeared on his face.
Ayaan: Maybe she's lucky for me.
He looked outside the window at the falling rain.
Ayaan (softly): Who was she…? What could her name be…?
And the biggest question of all—
Ayaan: Will I ever see her again?
Ayaan had no idea…
that the most important story of his life
was about to begin
with that unknown girl.
What do you think will happen next?
