Chapter 2 - The Night of Waiting:

Ayaan still didn't know anything about that girl.

Not her name,

not what she did,

not where she came from.

And yet…

this had become their daily routine.

Every night at 8:40 PM, the girl would step off the bus.

And for the next twenty minutes, they would walk along the same road.

She walked ahead…

and Ayaan followed silently behind her.

Whenever she reached near her house, she would pause for a moment, turn back, look at him…

and then, with a soft smile, go inside.

This continued…

and slowly, two weeks passed.

But the strange thing was—

neither of them had spoken a single word to each other.

Maybe both of them were waiting…

for the other to speak first.

That night, Ayaan was once again standing at the bus stop, waiting for her.

But tonight felt different.

The road was almost empty.

Only a few vehicles passed by.

A thick fog had spread everywhere.

So dense…

that even a person standing a few steps away was barely visible.

Ayaan's eyes kept drifting toward the road.

He was waiting for the bus that arrived every night at 8:40 PM.

But today…

8:40 passed.

No bus.

8:50.

Still no bus.

Ayaan glanced at his watch.

It was 9:00 PM.

His heartbeat began to rise.

A strange uneasiness crept into his chest.

He kept looking at the road again and again.

Time slowly passed.

9:20 PM:

Now Ayaan was completely restless.

One thought after another rushed through his mind.

Ayaan (thinking): Why didn't she come today…?

Ayaan (worried): Is she okay…?

Suddenly, a thought struck him—

Ayaan (anxious): What if something happened to her…?

The fog was too dense tonight.

What if…

there had been an accident?

Ayaan looked up at the sky and whispered anxiously—

Ayaan: Oh God… wherever she is, please keep her safe… and let her come soon.

The night grew quieter.

And Ayaan was still standing there…

waiting for that bus.

But the question remained—

Was she okay…?

Or had something gone terribly wrong?

# First Conversation:

Ayaan stood at the bus stop, restlessly looking around.

His heart was racing. Only one thought filled his mind—

What if something bad has happened to her…?

Just then, a loud horn broke his thoughts.

From a distance, headlights cut through the thick fog and fell directly on Ayaan's face, making him squint for a moment.

A bus slowly approached and stopped at the stand.

The doors opened.

And Ayaan's wait finally ended.

She stepped down.

For a moment, she looked at him…

and then quietly started walking toward her home.

But today, Ayaan couldn't hold himself back.

He quickly walked up to her.

Ayaan: Where were you today? You always arrive by 8:40… but it's already 9:35.

Is everything okay? Did something happen? I've been waiting for you for so long.

The girl looked slightly surprised.

As if she hadn't expected him to talk today.

She smiled softly, then spoke with a hint of shyness—

Alina: I notice you every day. You stand at the bus stop… and then follow me all the way to my house.

Ayaan felt a little awkward.

But Alina continued—

Alina: But you've never behaved strangely or made me uncomfortable… so, thank you.

She paused for a moment before speaking again—

Alina: This road is very deserted. When you first started following me, I was a little scared.

Then she looked at him and smiled gently.

Alina: But later, I realized… you're not like the others.

She extended her hand toward him.

Alina: Hi… I'm Alina. And you?

Ayaan smiled and shook her hand.

Ayaan: I'm Ayaan.

After two weeks of silence, they finally knew each other's names.

A quiet happiness, a sense of relief, appeared on both their faces.

For a few moments, they walked together.

The cold wind brushed past them, and the fog still lingered on the road.

And they walked together. towards Alina's house.
