They surged forward along the steel plates laid across the trenches by the engineering mecha; the densely packed boots made the steel plates tremble and bend. Some soldiers couldn't get on and had to swarm down into the trenches, then desperately climb back up.
Ahead was the armored group, desperately pushing forward; behind them were thousands of closely following infantry. The entire formation resembled a massive spearhead, fiercely thrusting forward in the front, while the rear desperately expanded and fortified the flanks. Every trench and fortress was a brutal offensive and defensive struggle. From above, one would see countless crisscrossing light chains of gunfire and cannon shots, all engaged in fierce fighting, all willing to go down together.
