Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The next morning I woke up at dawn to get ready for training with Jake. The thing was I woke up later than I planned. I woke up when the sun was almost fully up. Seeing that made me jump out of bed. I didn't bother to change fully out of my outfit. I took off my shirt and switched it with a tight work out crop top. I slipped on a pair of knee high light blue socks and my typical knee high, black, block heel boots that laced up in the front and reached right below my knee to show off my sock a little. I grabbed my white belt that I had specially made to fit me that will easily hold any sword without falling down. Then I ran down the stairs to latch the long sword to the belt. Once I was done, I ran out to the door to meet Jake.

When I arrived at our typical training grounds, Jake was talking to a few of his fellow soldiers. Once they noticed I was there, the others bowed and greeted me.

"Please do not do that. I am here to train as an equal with you today." I mumble with a hair tied in my mouth as I redo my messy bun.

"You are late dear sister." Jake announced.

"Very eventful night." I replied as I walk a little closer.

"New sword?" he asks as he eyes the sword that Jasper gave me.

"Yes it was a birthday present." I say as I pull out the sword form its sheath and hand it to him to admire.

"This sword looks familiar." he says as he looks it over. "Where did you get this?" he asks as he flips it over and spies the diamond crown on it. He looked shocked to see it as he looks over the sheath fro the sword attached to my hip.

Before I get a chance to reply, a voice behind me does it for me. "I gave it to her. Why do you ask?"

"Your grace." everyone in front of me says as they bow down on one knee to Jasper.

Jake replied to his question as he knelled. "I know what the silver crown stands for." he says which made no sense to me.

I just merely turn around slightly and give Jasper a small smile. I look him up and down to see him in the training attire for the military but in Braxton colors. He looked incredible good. I looked away as a blush started but quickly distracted myself with the men in front of me.

"None of that. I was your commander first. I am here to train with you guys. I have a break in my schedule and decided that some training will do me some good." Jasper address the group.

I walked over to Jake and grabbed my sword back from him. After that, him and the other men went to get their weapons of choice. I turned around to face Jasper as we started to stretch together. I knew for a fact that he wouldn't have been able to be out here if his advisers had any say in it.

"So what really brings you out here? I know for a fact that your schedule is not so lenient." I say to start the conversation since all we were doing at that point was watching each other.

He ignored my question as his eyes drifted over my body taking in my attire. "That shirt is not proper for a princess." he states which makes me smile.

"I cannot care today. If I am the family disappointment then I might as well do as I please." I state as I slightly laugh. I was in an amazing mood today. Jasper just shook his head at me while he agreed that I should just be myself.

"Melia, you are not a disappointment to me." Jake faked being hurt at my words as he walked back over to me.

"Oh we both know that I do not count you as one of those wretched people." I reply as I draw my sword and point it at him.

"Thank the gods." he replied as he started to charge me.
