The Sky God had mentioned to Alex a while ago that the Blood God was on the fence about how she viewed the upcoming war. She didn't look forward to it as much as the others, but she wasn't completely against it either. She was on the fence, though very much leaning toward the side of war.
So, the Sky God wanted to buy her out using the Blood God's Manual. Even though the Manual itself had never belonged to her or the Blood Cult, they viewed it as a sacred artifact of their cult since it came from the predecessor of their God, the previous Blood God.
The two Blood Gods had no connection at all. It was one formed solely based on them sharing the same name. And yet, they demanded the Manual be returned to them, as though it belonged to them.
The Sky God had held back until now, but with more and more people joining the idea of bringing on a new war, the Sky God was ready to buy at least one of them over to her side.
