Chapter 3 - When the Mind Overthinks

Overthinking magnifies anxiety. Most times, when we begin to doubt our capabilities and even God's ability our minds become filled with endless "what ifs." Before we know it, the present becomes clouded by imagined scenarios that may never happen. However, God calls us to surrender our thoughts to Him. Yes, sometimes it is easier said than done, but we must learn to place more trust in God our Creator and less trust in ourselves.

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." – 1 Peter 5:7

Practice: Pause and breathe. Name the anxious thought and remind yourself: it's not reality—it's just a thought. Ask yourself: Will this matter in a week? Or better yet, what if the opposite of what I'm thinking happens? Start preparing for success and stop anticipating failure.

Pray: "Lord, I surrender this worry to You."
