It had been a long week since Elena and her friends battled the Mangaka and then fought desperately against Avenger, the monstrously powerful Heroic Spirit who had nearly killed them all. Only her mother's intervention had saved them. Elayne had exhausted nearly all her energy and divinity to stop him once and for all.
Since then, Elayne had been unable to unleash most of her power. She remained in a dormant state within Elena's Spiritual Heart. Elena had not realized that although her mother possessed her own energy source, she was simply too powerful. The more intensely she fought, the more energy she required.
After a week of rest, however, while Elena continued attending classes as usual and never left the safety of the Amaterasu Clan territory amid the Holy War raging outside, Elayne finally recovered enough energy to manifest by her side that Monday morning.
