Chapter 4:

....

The days between sending that stupid application and getting a reply dragged like waiting for a girl's skirt to flutter up on a windy day and the wind just... never... came.

Minoru was so sure Hogwarts would take his transfer he didn't even think they'd make him wait. But five days went by. Then a whole week. By day nine the silence from Britain was seriously eating him up inside.

'Crap... what if they say no? What if my whole plan goes to hell 'cause some idiot decided I wasn't good enough?'

He forced himself to keep cool in front of his parents. Still woke up at five in the freakin' morning. Still ran his damn fifty-eight minutes. Still played the perfect son, the model Minoru, the freaking robot with supposedly zero perverted cells in his body.

On the outside, totally under control.

Deep down? he was about to lose his goddamn mind. Letting his pervy side loose a little during that event a few days ago helped... kinda. But right now he was backed up like crazy! He couldn't even jerk off—well, he could, but unlike sneaking around and having a little fun stealing some girl's panties to then get a peek at her pretty legs, he couldn't get it don since his nerves just wouldn't let him finish, and that would only made everything worse.

So by then he was already a total disaster of nerves, anxiety, and a libido that'd gone months without any proper attention.

'Geez…This seriously sucks, man!'

It was December 30th when the reply finally showed up.

It was NOT what he expected.

He got the parchment from some fancy-looking owl, the kind only those stuck-up rich families use. The thing had this wax seal, crimson red, with four animals around a big letter H—a lion, a badger, an eagle, and a snake.

Yep… just like some weird zoo emblem or whatever. But nope, it was actually Hogwarts and each of the animals represented one of the houses into which the school was divided—Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin… a division that obviously didn't exist in Mahoutokoro… Although one could argue that this was because there were far fewer students than at Hogwarts, to the point where even each student has their own room—something Minoru knew he would miss quite a bit, since sadly Hogwarts wouldn't be the same.

Then, what was inside... man, what was inside the letter made his blood run cold.

"Dear Mr. Mineta,

We are pleased to inform you that your transfer application to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been reviewed and, in principle, accepted. Your academic record at Mahoutokoro is spotless.

However, before proceeding with the formalization of said transfer, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore believes you should be made aware of certain recent events that have taken place at Hogwarts during the current school year.

We kindly request that you respond to this letter at your earliest convenience, indicating whether, after being informed of what the Headmaster will communicate to you directly, you still wish to continue with the transfer process.

Should you agree, please find attached to this letter a list of all the books and required materials.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry"

"...The hell is this crap?" Minoru muttered, his eyebrows scrunching up so hard they almost touched. This didn't sound to him like a "welcome aboard, here's your house and a tour of the girls' dorms" kind of letter. This just sounded like something seriously bad was waiting for himm.

Later that same day, a second letter finally showed up. The handwriting this time was totally different—slanted, with these fancy but firm loops.

"Dear Mr. Mineta,

Allow me to welcome you, if only by correspondence, to the possibility of joining our student body. I have heard wonderful things about Mahoutokoro and the discipline instilled there. A student with your grades would undoubtedly be a valuable addition to Hogwarts.

However, transparency is a virtue I hold above many others. I must inform you that two troubling incidents have occurred during this school year. Two students, both of Muggle origin, have been petrified. The circumstances are not yet fully clear, and the school authorities are investigating the matter with the utmost seriousness.

I will not hide that there is a certain... unease. I want you to be fully aware of the situation before deciding whether to transfer. Mahoutokoro is an excellent school, and you have barely a couple of months left to complete your academic year there. At Hogwarts, on the other hand, you would have several months ahead of you.

There is no rush. Think it over calmly. Whatever your decision, I will respect it.

Sincerely,

Albus Dumbledore

Headmaster"

I read the letter twice. Then a third time.

Petrifications. Muggle students(Of non-magical origin).

'What the hell was going on in that castle?' His first reaction hit him cold and slimy, crawling up his spine like a giant centipede.

'I'm no hero. Well, not more… and actually never have been. Not in my former world not here" he is actually a pervert, a coward, the guy who'd rather hide behind a rock and peek at a girl than face any real danger. That's just who Minoru Mineta is.

His attempt at heroism at the UA was really just because he wanted to be famous and attract hot girls.

So… If someone's out there turning students into statues...

'Am I seriously gonna walk right into that?' But then he thought about Japan and his kinda robot dad and mom, a mom who only seemed human when she cracked jokes about other girls. About Mahoutokoro staff, the never-ending classes, the tiny scraps of free time, the only twenty freaking female students for hundreds of guys, the damn teachers watching every single thing you did. Not being able to jerk off in peace. Not being able to check out an ass without fearing my golden robe would turn white and snitch on me.

"Shit… I'd rather get petrified than spend one more day in this shitty magic Japon' he thought it with a clarity that almost scared him.

Yep, just pure desperation there.

And desperation, gets one(the ones like Minoru Mineta) moving way faster than any courage ever could.

Minoru decided not to tell his parents jack. If they find out there's danger, then maybe those bastards won't let him go even if he beg on his knees.

So he smiled then nodded and wrote Dumbledore back with this super duper formal letter packed again full of shitty fancy words about his "drive to improve himself", his "unshakeable determination", his deep respect for the headmaster's honesty. He said that despite the risks, he was more than willing to continue with the transfer.

Wrote all that with one hand while the other was busy adjusting his pants so nobody noticed the boner he got from the sheer thrill of knowing he was finally, FINALLY getting the hell out of this magic Japanese nightmare.

Oh, and only after finishing this letter he then remember that he also had to send another letter to the deputy headmistress, McGonagall, stating that, after being informed of the situation, he still wished to proceed with the transfer process.

Dumbledore's reply arrived on New Year's Day.

"It is with great pleasure that I note your determination matches your academic record.

Look forward to welcoming you to Hogwarts.

And Hogwarts would be happy to open its doors to you with immediate effect, in order for you to get used to the castle prior to the start of the second term and your lessons. This is due to several reasons, but mainly because the castle's 142 staircases tend to like to change position...

Don't worry, though, as you won't be alone; plenty of students actually choose to stay at Hogwarts over the Christmas holidays, so you'll have the chance to get to know them.

Arrangements have been made for a Portkey authorised by both your Department of Magical Transport and our own to take you directly to the British Ministry of Magic on 3 January at 10:00 a.m. Japanese time. There, in the Department of International Magical Cooperation, you'll have to fill out forms to formalize and certify a few things, and also, there you will find a temporarily enabled Floo fireplace from which you can travel to my office in Hogwarts.

I apologise for the bureaucratic inconvenience, but as this is an international transfer, the procedures are inevitably… tedious.

Wwish you a Happy New Year.

Albus Dumbledore"
