Sergei watched with clenched fists as Rune and his men wipe out a great number of his people. He hadn't expected them to find his hideout and appear unannounced while his people let their guard down.
His very own son had stabbed him in the back, he thought. He gripped the handle of the sword and made to finish him off. If he can't have him by his side, then no one else can.
He aimed the sword at Damien's chest and made to drive it in completely, but Rune saw it seconds before and he threw his sword at him. The sword hit Sergei's hand, making him drop his weapon and he shifted his gaze to Rune who now approached him.
He backed away as Rune strolled to where Damien was tied up. When he saw the state he was in, he shook his head and moved his eyes to Sergei.
"I think Damien will agree that I make a better father than you," he spoke calmly, but his voice was laced with something dangerous, like a brooding threat.
