Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

Welcome to Siela's Bridal, good to see you. How may I help you? My name is Sia. Just as I entered the bridal room, a woman at the front desk greeted me.

Bella here; pleased to meet you. I went here a few months ago to talk about the wedding gown I chose. I replied with a gentle smile, "I was told to come in today just to make sure everything is set and so I could try it on and take it home.

Sia answered and pulled her phone out of her right pocket to answer. "Okay, give me a second, let me just clarify everything," she added.

I had a brief glimpse of the conversations and the few questions being posed.

"Sorry, what's your last name, Bella?" With her palm on the speaker, she inquired while repositioning the phone away from her.

"Phoebe"

She said "Thank you" before placing the phone back in her ear. Before hanging up, Sia talked to this person for almost a minute more.

We just needed to clarify a few things, so we apologize. I'll bring you up to the room. I was silently following her as I gently looked at the various costumes as she turned around and whispered, "Follow me.

She asks as we go, "Do you have anyone coming with you, Bridesmaids, Maid of honor, or groom's family."

Unfortunately, everyone is busy with their own obligations and couldn't join us today. I began, but as I was ready to speak again, I heard someone yell my name like a crazy woman.

I came to a complete halt and looked around as I noticed Bella attempting to catch up to us while panting. She held her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath when she finally caught up.

She says through her jeans, "Whew you guys walk fast," which makes me arch my brow at her.

"Well, I was mistaken there. Bella, one of my bridesmaids, and Sia, who will be assisting us through this, are introduced as Bella glances up and gives Sia a small smile.

Sia began by saying, "Nice to meet you.

She said, "You as well," before turning to face me.

Where are the others, Bri? They should all be present. I sigh and turn my head away as she asks with a scowl.

I retorted, "You know how they are Bella, excuse after excuse," in an effort to sidestep the query.

"Bri, I warned you that this would occur. I'm still baffled as to why you even permitted them to serve as maids of honor or bridesmaids. They are not even deserving of that position, especially Grace, she says as she straightens up and starts to walk, prompting the two of us to follow suit.

"I'm sure it's nothing, but we've been close friends since childhood. Aside from that, it would be disrespectful if I didn't designate her the maid of honor. I make an effort to think rationally, even though I know it's simply another justification for the people in my life. I'm aware that Bella is correct, but there's a part of me that doesn't want to believe it.

"Yes, Bri, yes. She warns as Sia stops us in front of the door, "You keep making excuses like that, and one day it will come back and stab you in the back."

We are present. My companion will be here shortly with your dress, so kindly enter. Sia remarked, giving us a small smile before leaving, "Make yourself comfortable. There are some drinks in the mini fridge and some munchies on the table.

Bella started grinning like a cat when she heard the word "snack," so I turn to look at her. I slumped down on the couch, exhausted from the long drive, when she abruptly burst in and headed right for the snack table.

"This gets a ten out of ten, ugh. It offers free food, I mean really. As she opens the bag of chips and sits down next to me, she exclaims.

Naturally, it is. I shrug my eyes and remark, "Anything to do with eating is a ten out of ten to you.

It's not everything. Pickles don't appeal to me. I have no idea who chose to create that disgusting veggie. If someone provides pickles, that person will receive a low rating. She responds, disgustedly staring at a white wall.

Pickles don't taste terrible. you just unintentionally tasted bad pickles and behave like you are traumatized forever!" I take out some pickle chips from my purse and scream in frustration.

She chews on another chip as she explains, "Okay, in my defense, it said it was expired in October and not April."

NOT THE CURRENT YEAR, BUT OCTOBER OF THE YEAR PRIOR. APRIL, AND WHERE DID YOU GET IT? When she turned to face me and spotted the pickle crisps in my hand, she shrugged her shoulders at my comments but rushed off the couch and knocked over the snack table.

The chips slowly slipped from her hands as we both stood there motionless.

I'm come to give the-- "Hello. A woman wearing my clothing entered the room and started talking, but as she looked up, her eyes grew wide and became fixated on the current shambles.

Bella apologetically stated, "I swear it was an accident," with a sheepish smile. Were it not for the fact that this was my bridal suite, I would have laughed.

I'm sorry. Okay, just follow me. I'll change your suite for you. The elderly woman said as she left holding the dress in her hands and flashing a bright smile.

Bella picked herself up, stuffed a bunch of leftover food in her purse, and then followed me as I got up off the couch, grabbed my purse, and moved after her.

She gestured, and I rolled my eyes as she grinned at me.

We moved silently, only whispering to one other, until we came to a chamber that was similar to the one we had been in before.

The woman greeted us with a "here we are" as she flung open the door for us.

I said, "Thank you for that," and she simply smiled.

"No issue. You can go into the dressing room and try on your dress there. Please let me know if you need any assistance zipping it up. I nodded in agreement as she continued.

I entered the dressing room after grabbing my dress. After putting my dress on the hook, I start changing into my underwear.

When I remove the dress' plastic covering and reveal the fully assembled garment, I feel as though I am going to break down in tears. It seemed so ideal, and it's only now that I'm realizing that I'm getting married.
