Elliot suddenly woke up in a white featureless space, the moment he opened his eyes he gasped uncontrollably for air as in his last conscious moments he felt the air leave his lungs, or at least what was left of his lungs. He sat up, resting his arms on his knees and took heavy breaths. His pupils were dilated and his muscles felt more tense. It took him a moment to realize he was in an unknown environment, he then got up and began looking around.
"Am I dead?" the young lad said to himself, his voice sounding defeated.
"Not quite." a gentle and angelic voice said. As soon as the voice spoke the featureless plain shifted and began transforming into a huge throne room with a throne that sat atop a thousand stairs. On the throne sat a woman or at least something that resembled a woman. Her skin was crimson and her eyes even more so. She had a long and unsettling pair of horns sticking out of her forehead. Her long pink hair reached her knees as she sat on her throne. Her beauty was inhumane, she was perfect in appearance, no flaws on her face and her body told the same story. She gave a gentle smile as she stared at the young man.
"I will be honest with you, your only alive because of my residual magic keeping you alive. I can only keep doing this for two more minutes so this will not last long." the woman said to Elliot.
"Residual magic? Keeping me alive? Who are you? Where am I?" Elliot asked clearly confused and shocked.
"My name is Lilith Shedim. I am the first ruler of demons as well as the creator of the demons. I was sealed here and I have no way out unless you make a deal with me."
"What kind of deal?" Elliot asked.
"I'll save your life in exchange for my freedom." Lilith said.
"I'll do it on the condition that you grant me magic." Elliot said.
"Grant you magic? You do have magic but it's just that your body overworks you small reserves."
"Okay then. Teach me how to harness magic and make me strong and I'll fulfil your freedom." Elliot said with a firm voice.
"You dare barter with me while I offer you life human." Lilith said staring at the boy. Elliot's eyes kept his conviction.
"Aye, I believe whatever life I lead was going to end up with me dead in some alley. Grant me the power to change that." As Elliot said that Lilith smiled.
"You interest me more the longer we speak. I agree, I want to see how much of yourself you are willing to lose for power."
The area then began to glow with an ominous red energy as Elliot's head began to hurt intensely.
"Is it a deal?" Lilith asked as her voice sounded more demonic.
"Yes." Elliot said as he fell to the floor while holding his head and in that moment everything faded to black.
In the forest the two guild agents walked through trees and bushes.
"Have faith Oras, the boy might be brutally injured but dead, I do not believe so." the tall man said with a weird conviction.
"He fell hundreds of feet. He's dead Jericho." Oras said annoyed.
"Remember what Nico said, he jumped roughly a hundred meters, that's inhuman. He has to be some sort experiment because I sensed too little magic for it to a flight spell he used. He couldn't light a lamp with a fire spell with those reserves." Jericho said with a smile on his face. Jericho marched on, his vibe was ecstatic, Oras on the other hand followed while annoyed.
"Oras you know, you'd be a lot more likeable to other if you were just a little more optimis…" Jericho was cut off by his companion who said.
"Holy crap." as he stared at Elliot standing next to a bloody, sharp rock. Jericho stood next to Oras as they stared.
"Told you he wasn't dead." Jericho said as he smiled.
Elliot who at the moment had a huge gapping hole in his chest stared at the two, his killing intent potent and written on his face. In the next moment a mouth sprouted from on Elliot's neck. Lilith spoke from the mouth,
"Judging by your intense killing intent, they had something to do with you on the rock." she said as Elliot answered with angry silence.
"Okay then, Elliot, your body extracts your raw magic using to enhance your body constantly. That is why you have little to no magic available, it's being consumed before conversion. Now what I will do is allow your body to do the same but using some of my reserves, that will make you beyond the superhuman you already were." Lilith said as Elliot drew his dagger and stook a fighting stance.
Alternatively in the cathedral in the town, Jeremiah swept the floors as the Priest spoke to some locals who came to make confessions. The front doors swinged wide open as a man stood there with his son. The man dressed in the finest garments and his son dressed in light leather armour. The man entered and approached the priest, his confidence was palpable.
"Why if it isn't Sir Jonathan Bold, of the Knights Templar." the priest said in a welcoming tone.
"Father Cranel, how are you?" the man said as the two embraced.
The two conversed catching up as Jeremiah stared at the knight, he was everything he wanted to be.
"Don't stare too hard commoner." the man's son said as he smirked at Jeremiah. Jeremiah simple ignored the boy and continued sweeping.
"So your the cleaner boy. If you are you might as well get used to me because you will clean up after me when I become the priest's apprentice." the boy said confidently. Jeremiah simply chuckled when he heard the boy.
"What's so funny boy?" the boy asked Jeremiah.
"Father Cranel already has an apprentice, me." Jeremiah said as he gave the boy a death stare.
"Father! Seems Father Cranel has an apprentice, this unimpressive boy." the boy complained to his father.
"Oh, Father, I did not know you has an apprentice. But you do know, as the son of a holy knight my son, Raymond can challenge your boy for apprenticeship." the man said with a sinister grin on his face. Pastor Cranel simply smiled and looked at Jeremiah.
"Jeremiah?" the priest asked the boy. Jeremiah stared at the boy with malice.
"Let's be fast, I must sweep." Jeremiah said as he dropped the broom.
"It's settled! The boys will battle for apprenticeship." Jonathan said
