CHAPTER 118 : I NEVER LOVED YOU
Eleanora fainted.
Ethan caught her immediately before she could collapse. For one horrifying second, he simply stared at her unconscious face in disbelief, his breathing uneven for the very first time tonight.
The battle outside no longer mattered. Alexander no longer mattered. Nothing mattered. Because Eleanora had stopped responding.
"Ellie…" His voice cracked softly.
He pressed the hidden switch inside the claustrophobic compartment and the wall slid open again. Without wasting another second, Ethan carefully lifted her unconscious body into his arms before stepping back into the room.
"Ellie." His trembling fingers brushed against her cheek gently. "Wake up."
But before he could check her pulse again-
A bullet tore through the wall barely inches away from both of them. The softness vanished from Ethan's face instantly. Another gunshot exploded outside. Then another.
And something inside Ethan snapped completely.
