I looked at all the food in front of me, Alexa had not touched even a piece of meat, and she left before she could
"You probably want to follow her..." , a voice said out of nowhere
"Oh crap...", it was Blobby who came out of nowhere nearly startling me to death
"Heheh, sorry about that. Follow her I'll clean here up"
"Ok, fine I'll go see what's wrong"
I got up sprinting trying to catch up to Alexa who had already gone so far at this point I couldn't even see her image in the distance anymore.
"Alexa, wait up", yelling at the top of my voice while trying to run as fast as I could possibly run
"Come on Alexa... Damn I just remembered how tiring this estate is to stroll around", I stumbled into the path of a few flowers

I got up not even bothering to look back at the mess I had just made, I had bigger concerns at the moment
She couldn't be that mad at me, could she?
I am so tired right now if i was to stop running I would collapse of breathlessness

After about fifteen minutes of excessive and physical torment, a figure ahead caught my eye it took me a few minutes to register Alexa's figure laying on the ground
"ALEXA!!!"
What's going on here?
I ran to her to examine what the problem was, she had collapse and lost consciousness on the way to the mansion
I was no doctor, but it seems that my speculation of some taint on her was correct
Just holding her body to pick her up felt like a literal volcano my arms were burning up just by touching her I endured it because she gave me everything
I carried her like a princess, well because that was what she was to me... and her mother was also a queen
I was just returning the favor
I restarted the journey back to the mansion, but this time I had extra weight on me

Alexa's curse forced her to constantly invade the mind of others against her will, she forced her way into my mind tainting her soul and weakening her in the process
She had also pushed the process by further forcefully inserting her mind into mine explaining why she always knew what was on my mind. This was one of the reasons why I was so attracted to her

I finally saw the Mansion in my view, this made me speed up again until I finally made it to the door
At the door Deag stood there waiting throwing me a little off guard almost dropping Alexa before I quickly readjusted my grip on her back and her legs for balance
Clad in a similar but purple battle attire to Alexa and I, but it had an insignia call 'Ricardo house' instead
"Fern Lun? Fern Lun!" the look of rage in his eyes was very prominent, there was no escaping this
I knew nothing about the way the Conduit power system worked but what I knew for sur was that Deag looked more of a fighter than Alexa herself who was able to effortlessly outclass me in every possible category while in Combat.
It was just like Alexa said, there was no way I could win this confrontation
"Lord Deag", I took a bow to him struggling to keep Alexa's body up
"What happened to her?", changing his attention to the lady in my arms
"My lord she appears to be sick from some negative energy's side effect" I answered him with the basic information I already knew
"Well, I'm here to take her..." I did not know how their relationship was, but I was sure Alexa would not have been in support of this
"Sorry my Lord, but I can't allow that..."
"On whose authority do you stand on Fern Lun?"
"The lady herself, Lord..."

Deag did not wait for me to finish before he started a relentless attack on me

An impact crater was on the spot that Deag landed on, the same spot I was able to quickly move from
There was no way I could support Alexa and fight Deag of all people at the same time. The same Deag that possessed more raw power than I, and maybe Alexa herself
Deag turned around and charged at me again
"Impressive Fern Lun, I'm surprised you could react to my fast attacks, but how long do you think you can remain on the evasive end?"

Another impact crater was formed this one had more depths than the last
"Lord Deag, this is not necessary. We could for the lady to awaken, then you can take her with you if she so wishes..."
Deag was every bit as impatient and hot headed as I thought someone of his status would be
He was not going to stand by and wait for me to finish any of my sentences
"Fern Lun... How do you intend to help her?" going in again on me "Do you perhaps possess a healing technique?"
"Yes I do..."
Deag froze midair as he was trying to ready up another attack letting go of the advance on me instead landing on the ground in front of him creating the impact crater on some place intended not for me, for once.
"Fern Lun, do not lie to me... How does a lowly, rankless Conduit like you possess a healing technique"

"FROM WHO!!! WHO WOULD TEACH A LOWLY NOBODY A SUPPORT TECHNIQUE!!!"
Deag turned angrier

"Well? Will you answer Fern Lun?"

Scorching flames hit Alexa out of nowhere leaving me a bit disoriented
I looked down at my arms to see the horrendous sight of my lady convulsing
"ALEXA!!!" I looked back up at Deag " How could you do that... to your betroth of all people?"
I tried remaining calm, but Deag kept on shooting flames over at Alexa trying to kill her while I was trying with great effort to evade for the sake of the both of us
"How could she teach a lowly nobody like yourself any techniques? I'm calling of the engagement..." shooting a bigger flaming ball of death

There was no dodging this was there?
My instincts were flaring with caution
I managed to prop Alexa up on her feet while hugging her at the same time shielding her from the full force of the blast.
"Ahhhhhrrggggggggg"
The full force of the attack seemed to melt through my soul
I suddenly lost my motor functions
Deag said something before he left
Somehow, I didn't hear a single word he said before i passed out
