Chapter 34 - The Chaos Gate

All the teams arrived at the gate area and began getting out of the carriages.

Team 45 got down as well, and Jin was the last to get out.

The trip had been far from pleasant, which was clear obvious from Jin's irritated expression.

It wasn't just that he couldn't sleep at all during the trip, but also because the roads were so rough that the vehicle shook several times, causing jin's butt to ache.

Once the students got out, they started setting up their tents in front of the gate.

For most of them, this was the first time they had ever seen a gate— a huge, circular, blue one.

The gate was as tall as a two story building, its surface was glowing with a blue light that ripple like water.

The air around the gate felt heavy, creating a strange feeling among the students.

"Wow… what a huge gate!"

"So, these are the Level One gates!"

"I can't believe those ugly creatures come out of a gate this beautiful!"

Many students were amazed by the beautiful look of the gate, even if it was a Chaos gate.

Jin, smiled as he stared at the gate, his hands trembling. "So... that's where those creatures come from!"

Jin's smile looked natural, but there was something behind it...

From a distance, Alucard noticed him as he was talking to his teammates, who had gathered around him after getting out of the carriage.

Alucard who had already been chosen as the leader of their team, knew exactly what kind of smile that was, so he kept that in his mind...

"Clap... Clap...Clap..." Teacher Xiao clapped his hands to get the students' attention.

"Alright, students, as you can see these are what are called Chaos Gates "

"As you learned in Teacher Itchiki's history lessons, we know that these gates are not just a bridge to our world but also a bridge connected to the Chaos World, which is called the abyss"

"Blue gates indicate the presence of level 1 creatures within them, but caution is also necessary as there are some unusual events that it can increase the difficulty of the gate due to the appearance of dangerous creatures randomly inside it."

"Therefore, you are strictly forbidden from leaving your teams side or wandering outside the supervision of the teachers"

One student asked, "Can a higher ranked chaos creatures exit through the level One gates ?"

Teacher Xiao said, "Higher-ranked creatures can't come out of the level one gates into our world, but inside the gates, any being from the abyssal World can show up, so the gates are dangerous if you moved deeply inside."

"But as long as we stay within the range of this gate, there will be no danger of those terrifying entities approaching us."

Another student asked, "How will we collect points and kill creatures if we all stay in the same area?"

The teacher smiled. "Great question. When we enter the gate, you will understand how vast the spaces are inside, so don't worry about collecting your points in there."

"Now, prepare yourselves because we will enter in fifteen minutes."

With 9 teams and 5 teachers, it was impossible for everyone chosen on the first day to go through the gate all at once.

So the teams were split to enter in two waves, with all the teachers present in each wave.

After fifteen minutes, the first wave of teams went through the gate and started moving inside.

And About an hour and a half later, they came out, their faces a mix of shock and pain.

Some of them had obvious marks of their experiences like scratches and bruises.

Their conversation was a lively mix of excitement and pain.

"Those rats were seriously terrifying… I've never seen anything like that."

"We managed to take down three goblins pretty impressive, right?"

"Three goblins ? Haha, we fought and killed a giant spider!"

"fuck that lizard! it ambushed me and left a nasty wound in my hand."

"I'm pretty sure we got alot of points from that gate, haha."

As stories flowed among the students, excitement filled the rest of the teams.

Then, after another 15 minutes the second wave of teams was about to enter the gate.

Teacher Xiao clapped, saying, "Enjoy yourselves wandering around, but don't go too far!"

Team 45 was the most confident and hyped up, mostly because Alucard and Yumi were with them.

Alucard carried a massive shield, showing that he is specialized in defensive role, while Yumi carried a magnificent sword and wore silver armor, perfectly suited for combat.

The rest of the seven team members were also heavily armed, some wielded swords or spears and some other had bows.

But Jin unlike the rest of his team, he only had a wooden sword in his hand...

He wore simple, practical dark shirt and pants with nothing else on it.

His only accessory was a plain leather belt with a small pocket, and his shoes were worn out and basic.

The rest of the team looked at him strangely.

He didn't seem like a magic user either, as magic users usually carried a staff to enhance their offensive abilities and some of the bombs and chemical weapons that they were skilled with.

The students whispered among themselves

"Look, do you see that guy over there?"

"Looks like he's planning to rely on Yumi and Alucard… what a coward!"

"Wait, I remember him… he's that jerk who was rude to the Golden Saint! "

" Oh you right he is that fucking bastard! "

" Why the fuck he is in our team! "

Jin ignored their talk about him and kept staring at the gate with an awkward smile on his face.

Alucard approached him, and the rest of the team assumed he was about to teach him a lesson since he was the leader of the team.

Bending slightly toward Jin, Alucard spoke in a low voice, "Ah… sorry if this sounds rude, but are you planning to commit a suicide?"

Jin looked at him, confused. "Huh? Suicide? Why would I want to die?"

Alucard rubbed the back of his head"Hmm I mean… you're carrying no weapons, no armor, no magic staff, like you really want to die under the choas hands "

It seemed Alucard thought Jin's smile before came from his intention to sacrifice his own life!

Yumi also glanced at Jin from a distance, curious, but didn't pay it much attention since it wasn't important to her.

Jin smiled. "Ah, don't worry about it."

Alucard sighed. "Alright, good luck to you but just don't die"

He then left Jin and stood beside their assigned instructors, everyone ready to to move.

Jin and two teachers, along with the rest of the students, entered through the gate.

The first feeling the students experienced the moment they entry was severe suffocation.

their bodies were almost being crushed as they passed through.

"Ouch, my head it hurts" one student groaned.

"Ouch, my neck why is it hurting?" another complained.

"Look, look ahead!" someone shouted.

The vast area in front of them was a barren desolate land, with the air looked yellow.

They saw many goblins and lizards wandering aimlessly, as if they are searching for something in this place.

Some moved in strange unnatural ways, while others just stood in their place almost like they were in a deep sleep.

The land was filled with hills and mountains, the air was heavily contaminated, and the smells It was absolutely disgusting.

They also saw some bodies of creatures who has been killed by previous teams.

The ground was dry and slightly hot, and black, thorny tree branches grew from underground, spreading across the wide vast land in front of them.

"This place is truly awful," Alucard sighed, standing beside Teacher Sarah.

"Ah, it's a cursed place," she replied.

"Alright, now go and kill as many as you can within the hour," Teacher Kentry said as the team split into two groups.

Jin's grpup led by Teacher Sara moved to the east, while the other group led by Teacher Kentry, went west…
